The sun slowly sets on the Smokey Mountain race track as a bright purple Mini Cooper is heard screaming down the track. It flys off the hill grabbing big air much to the delight of the crowd, lands hard, and slides hard into the first turn. The driver accelerates up to the first check point 23.688. The Mini slides through the right hander, stretches for the next left, then pulls up the hill to the second check point 38.665. The drivers breath begins to tighten as the Mini screams down the hill into the the esses left, right, left, right, and into the tunnel to the third checkpoint 1'01.712. The driver is now gripped with paralysis as the car stretches out to the final turn. He slides a bit too sideways, corrects and almost brushes the inside wall. Somehow he manages to save it and accelerates to the finish line. As his time flashes up he is both elated and dissappointed, it is a new personal best but he knows he left some time on the track and almost wiped out his beloved Mini in the process.
One other problem with giving points for sector times: We know that the replay sector times are not the same as the actual lap sectors but on this track you get a better run on the second flying lap than the first. Now I do not normally run big blocks of free run but in this case because the car is faster on consecutive flyers than on the first lap I have been running more laps, 15 to 20 laps, and I do not want to watch through 15 - 20 laps to get the correct sectors. If we take them off of replays they are not necessarily accurate. hmmm???
Anyway I have taken on the job of making everyone beat the heck out of their Mini. These are the replay sectors of my fastest run:
23.688 / 38.665 / 1'01.712
Do not worry I lost a couple of tenths on the final sector due to not wanting to completely lose it so I left plenty of room for someone/someones to sneak in and take the race.
If I can run this pace again I may be able to improve my time, or it could get very frustrating trying to chase this lap.

Scuderia, I will not be able to compete in this series. I apologize, but I should have kept my schedule in mind. I'll be graduating college in a few weeks and I need to stay focused on that.

Sorry for the late post in the Interest check thread, it's a matter of how you approach it
You are free to run any race you like, come and go as you like, no worries.
Though....Take any car around 430hp (a RUF RGT, Honda NSX, TVR Tuscan...something like that) and run it in the Amatuer League/European or American series. if you wil 4 out of the 5 races save after the fouth and got for the Gillet race car, sell it...and you have netted close to 400,000crs...more than enough for rally tires... :-)

For some rason I thought this race was due MONDAY at midnight not SUNDAY
I didn't work on it because I was working on the week 61 race in my spare time, so I'll have to turn in my splits from my first session way back when
I guess I'll have to make up some points at DF II
