I got about 0.348 ahead of the yellow one at the end,just gotta slipstream each car until your almost touching them,then fly out ahead of them,its not at all hard to do

Thanks for the tips, everybody -- passed the lead car going into the last turn. I had caught up earlier in the second half of the next-to-last turn, heading onto the back straight, but I figured that if I passed too soon, it would've had a chance to slipstream me and pass me later. So, I held back, the rest of the pack caught up, and as I began to make my move on the lead car, I got a bump from the white one, pushing me in front even more quickly.
Pretty fun once I figured it out. Brought back what I had heard all these years about NASCAR drafting & slingshotting. The pack really is faster than a lone car -- all five AI cars were in a clump by the end.

I did it on my 5th attempt nearly lost on the last time but scrapped it by .012 i think can't quite remember after doing about 3 months ago. I found it pretty simple after getting relaxed and not even trying to complete it but stunned when i did do it. then went off and did for a friend that had been trying for a month or so.

I've done it too. Only took 3 atempts once I'd read the thread.

1st atempt got the hang of crusing in front of the cars and general slip streaming, then got the hang of leading the pack and smoothly letting them pass then 3rd attempt just cruised round no hassle. I did it in 7:04.393. Not fantastic but good enough.
I used 5th gear all the way round, thanks Famine. 👍

So why am I having a problem getting the other skylines to catch up? I was holding a steady 263km/h through the track.

daan made the video for all to see. I just drove it.
You need to help them out. Utilise your reverse view and park yourself dead ahead of them. They won't use your slipstream unless you're on their pre-determined line.

I'm told that twenty-three in Japanese sounds like Nissan and that's why Nissan often use racing number 23 on their works team cars.
How appropriate that PD chose this mission to be number 23.

i hate this mission because theres too much of it out of my control. once behind me, they brake the draft and then fall further behind in the corners, ive been spun several times only to be punished with 10 seconds.
racing with them through corners only slows me down too.

yeah, the video helped a lot and repeating it netted me the win. but, sometimes the ai were so busy racing amongst each other they werent drafting.

I did NOT let off the throttle AT ALL for this mission.
I think it has been stated that the key was maintaining your right front tyre at the yellow line AFTER you draft the group of cars.
Youtube has many good videos explaining this method.
Still, I believe this mission was not created to be completed in ONE way only. So if you want to be bumped, I think it can work although I tried it several times and I failed =(
