lancer evolution GSR 92' VS mirage cyborg ZR 97'
both track oriented cars for the street, the mirage and the lancer evo seem levels apart at first glance, one is an FF hot hatch, the other is a 4WD 245hp base model rally weapon.
without any modification, there is a 40+ gap in performance points, the lancer evo having the higher figure at 428pp, while the mirage has a respectable 387pp.
the lancer has 245 turbocharged horses, and a weight of 1240 kg.
the mirage has an impressive 171 hp (from an NA engine of 1.6 liters) and a weight of 1060 kg.
both cars are completely stock and are running SPORTS HARD tyres. no aids are used, driving line is off.
numbers aside, how do these two stack up in the re...virtual world.
the lancer definitely has the power and acceleration over the mirage, but its heavier weight meant i had to slow down for corners more.
the relatively low power output of the lancer and grippy tires meant that the advantages of the 4WD had little affect on its cornering and acceleration.
its very long 5th gear and power drop-off at 6k RPM's didn't do it any favors on the straights.
the light weight and grip of the mirage meant braking for some corners was almost optional, the engine struggled to get up the hill just after the tunnel but handling and agility made up for it.
power delivery was constant unlike the lancer, well, what ever power was there, at least. good gear ratios kept the car in its sizable power band for most of the track.
so after a few laps of each we have the times.
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo GSR 92': 1. 47. 307
Mitsubishi Mirage Cyborg ZR 97': 1. 47. 320
