The HOU at LAA four-game series ends in a split, because we lost 3-1 at the Angels earlier today.

Up next, we're back home to host a quick two-game Interleague series against San Francisco followed by hosting the Toronto Blue Jays afterwards.

Congratulations to all winners from today up to and beyond the time of this post.

Aroldis Chapman of the Reds just lost the game to my Braves in the 9th with a wild pitch...... then I heard them say "103mph".

I googled "fastest pitch", and the guy's video comes up where he pitched 106mph. I'm a casual fan, and had never even heard of him, but man, 103mph was the fastest speed I ever saw live.

Thor pitches tonight for the Mets in his MLB debut. deGrom gave up 4 runs yesterday and the hitting couldn't bail him out.

My Astros had this past Monday off, so no report of any action on my 20-12 Houston Astros. We're starting up a home stand involving a quick two-game Interleague series with San Francisco followed by a four-game series with Toronto starting on Thursday.

Elsewhere, it is being reported that Barry Bonds is suing Major League Baseball over accusing teams of colluding to prematurely end his career. I saw this note snooping around on Yahoo! Sports. Wonder how this one is going to end up.

Anyhow, enjoy the new series and good luck to all of your teams.

Chapman became the first Major League pitcher in history to AVERAGE 100+ mph on his fastball last season. Yeah, he throws hard. Even so, he's dialed it down from years past. He regularly threw 103-105 a few years ago, but didn't have a lot of command. Now he "only" tends to throw around 99-101, but with very good accuracy (and a nasty slider to keep hitters guessing). Every once in a while he'll have a night where he's putting up 103's nowadays. Still, no matter how fast he's throwing, it's hard to keep up with his fastball.

Also, evidently we just won with a Mesoraco walkoff double a couple of minutes ago. Ended a 3 game skid. Nice.

The Tigers also won with a walkoff tonight with a Kinsler walkoff base hit in the bottom of the 10th to get a 2-1 victory over the Twins.

I feared the Astros would get roughed up hosting the San Francisco Giants, and boy we were ever. The Giants towered over the Astros 8-1 tonight. Ouch. Back at it again tomorrow to close out this quick two-game set.

Congratulations to everyone who DIDN'T fail tonight.

It wasn't a walk-off homer, but it was a home run that put the Astros ahead for good in the Bottom of the 8th, en route to us winning 4-3 over the visiting San Francisco Giants. George Springer returned to our lineup and delivered another "Springer Dinger" to give us our 21st win. Yep. We hit Blackjack. This win gives us a series split in this two-game SF at HOU series. Collaborating on the HOU win was Chad Qualls and a Save from Luke Gregerson. Losing for San Francisco was Jeremy Affeldt.

Up next for the Astros... a four-game weekend series against the Toronto Blue Jays here in Houston.

Elsewhere...

* The Astros won, so how did the other Texas team do? They also won- 5-2 victory in Arlington for the Texas Rangers over the visiting Kansas City Royals. Yovani Gallardo was the winner for TEX along with a Save from Neftali Feliz. Yordano Ventura was the losing Kansas City Royals pitcher.

* It has to be a long distance for them, but Omnis' Miami Marlins came through with a 5-4 victory at the Los Angeles Dodgers. Sam Dyson was the winner along with a Save from A.J. Ramos for Miami. Adam Liberatore was the LAD loser.

* Not a good day for Blitz24's New York Mets, as they fell 2-1 at the Chicago Cubs. The Cubbies won with Hector Rondon, and NYM's loser was Carlos Torres.

* The Battle for the Keystone State took place in Philadelphia as BobK's Phillies hosted the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Fightin' Phils took down the Buckos 3-2. Philadelphia's winning pitcher was Cole Hamels along with a save from Jonathan Papelbon. For Pittsburgh, Francisco Liriano was the losing pitcher.

* It was also 3-2 in Tampa Bay as the Rays took down the New York Yankees. Nathan Karns was the TB winning pitcher, and Brad Boxberger got the Save. The losing pitcher for the Yanks was Adam Warren.

* Dolph Drago had plenty of reason to smile as the Cincinnati Reds took good care of a6m5's Atlanta Braves 5-1 in Cincinnati. Cincy's winner was Raisel Iglesias, and Atlanta's loser was Eric Stults.

* The Minnesota Twins went into Detroit and spanked AnthonyD1993's Detroit Tigers 6-2. Ricky Nolasco was Minnesota's winner. It was Kyle Lobstein who was tagged for the loss for Detroit.

Congratulations to all other winners from Wednesday.

The Tigers decided to avenge the loss to the Twins yesterday in blowout fashion. Today, Detroit beat Minnesota 13-1. Sanchez picked up the W with 8 IP.

Mets about to lose their 4th in a row and will end their division lead with a Washington win. Team has no offense anymore.

And they lost. It was a 4 run lead in the 5th inning and the SP and the bullpen blew it.

It was an international incident here in Houston. A flock of Blue Jays flew from Toronto down to H-Town to play baseball against my Astros in a four-game series. Game 1 of 4 went to Houston on a 6-4 victory. The most damage we did was a four-run 7th inning. This is win No. 22 for the Houston Astros Baseball Club this season. The winner for Houston was Josh Fields, and getting the Save was Chad Qualls. Toronto's losing pitcher was Aaron Loup. We suit up and play ball again tomorrow night.

Congratulations to all other winners from Thursday.

We doubled up the Blue Jays 8-4 tonight. A good bit of the game was a 7-1 lead for the Astros. Dallas Keuchel (or "Kid Keuchy") picked up the win for the 'Stros, allowing four runs and eight hits. He went six innings, striking out five Blue Jays. Knuckleball boss R.A. Dickey was the losing pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays. The 2015 Houston Astros are now 23-13 on the season. I can't really remember when was the last time the Astros were double digits above .500, but I'm proud of my boys so far.

Elsewhere...

* The New York Mets went from 11 or 12 straight wins at one point... to losing five straight. Their latest fail came at the hands of a 7-0 Milwaukee victory at Citi Field. The Kings of Queens saw Kyle Lohse get the win for MIL while Bartolo Colon lost for NYM.

* Good news if you're a Yankees hater... not only did the Yanks lose, they lost BAD. Like, 12-1 bad. You winning pitcher for Kansas City was Chris Young. The Yanks' losing pitcher was Michael Pineda.

* The Cincinnati Reds were turned into roadkill by the visiting San Francisco Giants. Madison Bumgarner was the winning SF pitcher while Jason Marquis took the CIN loss.

* It was the Braves who came out on top in Miami as Atlanta beat the Miami Marlins 5-3. A win for Cody Martin and a Save for Jason Grilli summed up Atlanta's win. Losing for Miami was Mike Dunn.

* The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim put down the Baltimore Orioles 3-1 in Baltimore. The Halows won with Jered Weaver and a Save from Huston Street. For Baltimore, it was Wei-Yin Chen who took the loss.

* In a game televised on MLB Network, the Chicago Cubs won 11-10 against the Pittsburgh Pirates. It would have been a 10-9 win for Chicago, but the Pirates tied things up in the Top of the 9th. Nine innings didn't solve anything between these two. So this one needed 12 innings for the score to finally be settled.

Congratulations to all other winners from Friday.

The Detroit Tigers just crushed the St Louis Cardinals in this series opener with a 10-4 victory. Cespedes, J.D. Martinez, and Miguel Cabrera all homered in the game for Detroit. Cabrera's homer was the 399th of his career. That ties him with Andres Galarraga for the most home runs ever for a player who was born in Venezuela.

The Tigers Just beat the Cards today with a 4-3 game. It needed 10 innings for the score to be decided. Every single run scored by St. Louis came off of the longball, and for Detroit, Miguel Cabrera had his 400th career HR in this game. He now has the most home runs by any Venezuelan-born player. Soria got the save for the Tigers, and Price picked up the win. The game had a hour plus long delay due to rain as well.

The Houston Astros won 6-5 tonight against the Toronto Blue Jays. So we are assured at least a series win especially with the finale of this four-game set tomorrow afternoon. Toronto was ahead 3-2 from one point of the game. Somehow, we managed to win again. So here's the winning rundown... Scott Feldman got the win, and Luke Gregerson got the Save. The losing pitcher for Toronto was Jeff Francis. Series finale is tomorrow afternoon.

Congratulations to all other winners from Saturday, including all the teams that got wrecked today- like the Mets flattening the Brewers at home 14-1. I even read that NYM's No. 9 hitter banged in a Grand Slam that really pulverized Milwaukee by putting a 10 spot on them in the Bottom of the 4th.

Near no-no for Atlanta's Shelby Miller. Loses it with 2 outs in the 9th inning. Braves beat the Marlins 6-0. Mike Redmond has been fired as Miami's manager.

The Houston Astros picked up their silver (25th) win of the season by sweeping the Toronto Blue Jays in a four-game set here in Houston. Today's win was a 4-2 victory. Collin McHugh's win and Luke Gregerson's Save (his 10th) made up the win for the 'Stros. Picking up the loss for Toronto was Mark Buehrle. The Astros are now 25-13 on the season after this latest win.

Up next for the Astros... our old friends that we swept earlier this season on the road come to H-Town: the Oakland Athletics.

Congratulations to all other winners from Sunday, including the eventual winners of the Detroit Tigers at St. Louis Cardinals game tonight.

The wheels have completely fallen off the Reds' wagon this season. We managed to take game 1 of a 4 game set against the Giants, but our pitching got absolutely pummeled the final 3. We finally put up a decent amount of runs today, 8, but still managed to lose by 1.

We've picked a bad season to start stinking it up being the hosts of the All Star Game and all. I can see a fire sale at the trade deadline. It wouldn't surprise me (unfortunately) to see Cueto and/or Chapman traded. We may end up going through rebuild mode like the Astros' past few seasons. Nice to see them playing excellent baseball again after being in the dumps.

Redmond is gone. Can't believe the fish have 22 losses, lol. With all those Stanton bombs too. It's ridiculous how badly they've been beaten, shut out, blown out by division rivals.

Pitching has been atrocious. Latos has been a disaster.

Told you he would be. He gives away all his pitches with that stupid windup. The tattoos all over his body provide contrast. It's just terrible. Kenny Powers 2.0

Random Baseball video to start your Monday morning.

Arizona State outfielder Johnny Sewald got plunked by Washington State in the PAC-12. What he did with the ball will blow your mind...

Good season gone to waste. They to me looked like the only real challenge to Washington. Barring the Mets suddenly catching fire again, the Nationals will have a cake walk.

Did you know the Houston Astros were winners of five straight games heading into tonight? Well, that streak was snapped. Five and no further as we failed to Oakland... again. 2-1 was the score. Tonight was the Major League debut of Lance McCullers for the Astros. Oakland's winners were Edward Mujica and a Save from Tyler Clippard. Houston's loser was Joe Thatcher. We suit up and play ball again tomorrow night to continue this series.

Congratulations to all other winners from Monday. That includes Blitz24's Mets winning a 14-inning marathon at home hosting the St. Louis Cardinals, and also to R1600Turbo's Arizona Diamondbacks spoiling the managerial debut of Dan Jennings in 13 innings at Omnis' Miami Marlins.

We got a Rubber Game heading into tomorrow afternoon as the Astros won 6-4 over the Oakland Athletics. A three-run 8th inning helped put the Astros ahead for good. The Astros won with Roberto Hernandez and a save from Pat Neshek. Oakland's losing pitcher was Sonny Gray. Series finale is tomorrow afternoon here in Houston.

Congratulations to all other winners from Tuesday.

We won the OAK at HOU series today with a 6-1 victory. Kid Keuchy (Dallas Keuchel) picked up the win for the Astros today to improve to 6-0 on the season. Did you know he was 5-0 with an ERA in the 1.80 range heading into this game? Not bad if you ask me. Anyhow, losing for Oakland was Jesse Hahn.

Up next... I figured a time like this would come because coming up next, my Astros will get some Midwestern hospitality when we're at AnthonyD1993's Detroit Tigers for a four-game weekend series. Part of the reason I'm intrigued about our next series is because of former Astro J.D. Martinez doin' work for the Tigers. You got another former Astro- Brad Ausmus as manager of Detroit. This should be a pretty interesting series and a pretty interesting inter-forum rivalry.

Congratulations to all other winners up to and beyond the time of this post.

With how garbage Detroit has been playing, I'm half expecting the losing streak to continue.

EDIT: It's pretty ironic that they decide to win on the day that I say they're playing like garbage. They won 5-2 today.
