I received my PS4 for Christmas, and it had been running flawlessly on the living room TV until a few weeks ago, when I needed to move my Xbox 360 back to the living room because I couldn't use the monitor anymore due to the current PC monitor at the time suffering from pincushion distortion (It was CRT). Anyway, when I connected the Xbox 360 to the TV via HDMI, it flashed a message across the screen saying "Mode Not Supported. This resolution is not supported. Please change the resolution in the device." When the monitor was connected to the Xbox 360, it was set to 1366x768, the highest resolution possible, but when I tried reconnecting it, and changing it back to 1280x720, the problem still persisted. I tried it with my PS4 in the same port, but it shows the same error.
I tried another port, and the problem went away, until today, when the TV was shown to be operating at 720x480, and with no picture. Tried going into safe mode, disconnecting/reconnecting cables, to no avail. I also tried bending the connector slightly, which seems to have caused the "Mode Not Supported" error to reappear. My TV is a Samsung 42" full HD, model no LA40C530F1R, with only 2 of the 3 HDMI ports working. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am stuck without games for the time being.

reset it, my PS3 sometimes does that, and I just press down the start button when turning it on until it beeps a second time. Not sure for PS4 or XB360 though.

Your problem is that HDCP mode is not accepting the "handshake" between your PS4 and your TV. You can turn the mode off by way of your PS4, and you should be good to go.

Otherwise, make sure your video settings on the PS4 is set to "Automatic". In automatic mode, the PS4 will detect your TV's settings and will output to match.

Thanks. I tried it yesterday and it worked. Back to Driveclub!
