Hey guys,

Every time I try to finish the Modern A Invitational Event (Nürburgring Nordschleife with McLaren MP4-12C), I receive a message from the game that I got disqualified because of an "broken engine". The message pop up at about 5 minutes and no matter how good or bad I drive, at what position or previous damage taken.
Maybe this is a bug...

My specs are

Platform: PC
Handling Mode: Elite
Difficulty: Hard
Damage: Full Damage
Driving Aids: ABS
Input Device: Fanatec GT3RS V2 Wheel
Transmission: Manuel

Anybody here with the same problems and a solution how I could avoid that disqualification and finish the race?

Thanks Wax

Make sure you don't down shift when your rmps are still high. I blew mine on day one when I first got the game and found this out. A very cool feature. You can't blow your engine like this in GT5. In S2U, we have to take care of our motors or prepare to restart. I am more conscious of dropping my rmps now.

Well, to blow your engine in Shift 2, you have to rev up and holding the rpm for nearly a minute.
After a huge crash I lost one wheel of the drive axle and the car does not accelerate anymore, no matter which gear I choose. After about 1 minute pushing the paddle to the metal, the engine dies.

But for this event, it doesn't matter how smooth you drive and how early you shift up. Nearly at the same place on the ring, the engine blows up.

You could avoid that, like Terronium-12 already said, if you reduce the damage to "visual only".

Wow! I never knew you could blow your engine in Shift2! :dunce:

I had my rear tires blown once when I did the first drifting practice. I felt something wrong with the handling then I switched to third-person view only to find out my tires are dead
