I was thinking, and i came up with a little competition:

Moderators of GTP, versus the Members of GTP, in a friendly battle.
This is to encourage better understanding on both sides in this community, and just a better community overall. :)

Any Mods up for this? Any Mods that actually can handle their car sideways? ^^

Thats actually a good idea Dom. After the RedSuns forum being locked I have a way better understanding on what the mods want.

Indeed, i want this to be a respectfull, and mature, friendly competition to increase the feeling of being a community, instead of 2 sides of one community. Having some random chats with Mods and actually seeing them at 'work' in their cars, might just make more GTP members realize that these mods are humans, and most of them friendly, as well :)

Drifting is too specific, lads, but, I'd be willing to race with Famine and people. I'm too lazy to type curses and such on PS3 anyways. :sly:

Pretty sure they won't even pay attention to this post. They got better things to do... like look for threads to lock because of off topic discussions.

Actually, we don't go out of our way to look for threads to lock. The belief that we scour the forums looking for things to do is a fallacy. Much of our moderation comes from the members of this forum by way of reports. This is why we encourage members to use the report function whenever they see something that needs dealing with.

Getting back on topic:

If I had the desire and available time to learn a new art form, in this case, drifting, then I would love to take up your invite. unfortunately at this moment in time I don't have either. Sorry.

Due to the small amount of spare time I have available, I only go for the easy options of Online shuffle or same car (stock) racing. Anything else just takes up too much of my time.

I think it would be a bunch of fun doing shuffles with the moderators! I miss shuffles. :dopey:

I'm up for this, but it needs to be organised in a different area of the forum. 👍

Any Mods that actually can handle their car sideways? ^^

Something I used to do years ago;

Do these count as sideways?

If not, then I can't drift for ****

Any excuse to post the oldies. ;)

Great quality videos we used to have back then

Edit:
moved to the GT5 Drifting Forum.

Im up for some grip racing. It helps to have a GT Academy brother who was 5th fastest in the country. 👍

I intended this to be a drifting competition nothing else. Considering people won't go about that, and are apperantly not interested in helping the drifting community as i intended, someone else will have to sort the competition out.

Apologies. We do want to drift :)

At least sphinx was nice enough to tell us he cant 👍 If the mods arent interested in a comp, we should at least drift together for fun, like just to get to know each other.

My answer is similar to Sphinx'; I just never have the time any more! I can't remember the last time I even played GT5 - if I am playing a driving sim, it's more likely to be FM4 - but it was more than a few weeks ago, possibly months. I also got rid of my wheel (to fund the eventual purchase of a Fanatec to cover both systems), so not sure how well that'd gel with the idea presented here.

I used to run daily Open Track events at the Nurburgring based out of our chat room here at GTP, and once in a while, we'd play around with drift-tuned cars, but it's more of a fun past-time for me (within the past-time of playing GT5 itself), as having a car that'll get sideways through most turns is more fun than the slight understeer bias I typically use for my fastest grip cars. I've done a few drift meets with a co-worker's group of team friends on FM4, with an E92 V8 engine'd Z4 M, but I definitely haven't spent even close to the amount of time working on the skill set required as any of you drift regulars have.

If I do ever load the old game up, I'll keep an eye on the lobbies ;)

I'm up for grip... <550pp and also some GT300/500 races... would be nice to see how slow they are :P

should get a thread up about racing for the drift teams maybe going up against each other. Keep it away from here :P.

P.S, I don't mean to be big headed, but I rock at GT500

Wow i love the idea but it won't happen even a shuffle race i would gladly do!👍

^^^ Agreed. I like the idea of just racing with Mod's and Member's in general, wether it be drift, shuffle, grip gt300/500 or just road cars.👍

Heck even a simple Mod/Member cruise would be fun IMO.
