First of all... The flames are just are over the top! And it doesn't look like it's really raining.( close enough ) But let me say, that's one cool picture! Good Art!.. How did you make the track look like it had water on it? I'd like to do that ahead of the car. Mist in the air, and a wet track ahead. Good job. Nice art.

The flames are pretty much as standard in GT4 on that car! They've barely been touched.

To make the track look like it has water on it involved a complicated, several step process. The road was selected, desaturated and then had noise added. The darkness was then reduced and I created a new layer with that on. Then I clone tooled the lights and exhaust flames, and took a dark brush set to about 30% opacity to draw out the reflections of the cars.

Once they were drawn out I added dashes of colour at about 8% opacity to add to the reflections. Red for the Alfa, dark blue for the Audi. The spray was done using about 4 layers of various brushes and blurs, and then erasing the sections I didn't need.

OOOH Thanks for sharing some secrets, I didnt know about taking a dark brush to draw out reflections. I take it that it's a cleaner technique than dodging and burning to draw out reflections?

Yup, the dark brush will keep the shading constant in relation to the background, whereas dodging and burning will react differently to the highlights or shadows.

Veeeeeee-dub!

I decided to do an update based upon my latest obsession; VW 'euro' look cars! I picked something a bit different for this update though!

I really like this update, it's nice and simple. Nothing too exaggorrated and the car is very clean. The only thing that's bothering me is that the little lens flares seem so over-used lately, I'm not sure whether so many lens flares would pop up at such a dark spot as there. Also, the lighting on the front rim seems a little weird as well, but I still love this update 👍

I'm still incredibly jealous on that RX-7 shot :cheers:

My god I just realised I've made a biiig mistake and left it in the shot! I'll have to edit it and re-upload! Can anyone see what it is that I've not done? I can't believe I missed it! :lol:

I love this update. The car is so cleaned and crisp, with many reflactions.

I can't really see what is the mistake you are talking about, it seems all so very perfect. 👍

Wow, awesome new Bora! I think the Bora is one of the best cars to take photos with.

I like the way you used the tilt somewhat.

It's fixed now. The fault was that I hadn't smoothed over the headlight washer cover on the right hand side of the image. It's still visible in the preview thumbnail if you look carefully, but I've removed it from the full sized one. 👍

it's a great picture, but why is the top area around the left door looking like it's just been brushed or something? it's just not in perspective in my eyes. that could of been fixed with more burning. but overall the update looks really great! i've always wanted to do a project like that last year, until my pc broke down.

Great pictures!

Back on my last GT4 save before it was corrupted, I had several modded Dubs. Mostly just dropped on BBS LMs with racing tyres. Had Boras,Mk4 & 5 Golfs (R32 was best),Seat Leons etc.

BTW that Bora is not Euro style, it's Yank style.

It's a random stretched bit of light. I left it in as it would have appeared like that on the real car. 👍

New update;

Jaguar in the sun

Just something I knocked up quickly;

Great realism on the car, and reflections. The composition is really nice too.👍

One thing that bothers me (and it happens to me also, but I don't saw happening to you in the other updates) are the over sharpen edges all over the car

I just noticed that myself actually, I've no idea why it has done that. I'll fix it tomorrow, I've got the day off work :)

I love the colors and bumper reflections detail. It adds a lot of realism to the car. The leafs works fine in the composition of the photo as well =)

Very nice moglet!!!! love the realism and the colors on the background are well balanced.
but the thing that strikes me the most is the way the sun/light bounces off the car. the composition is well done too. lovely mix and harmony of colours and tones. the sharpness is good too. good work on a jaggy free jag! :D

You must have left some resizing option in imageshack open, since this shot looks smaller than the one in the other update.

I think the oversharpened edges might be due to heavy contrast? The contrast on the car seems very heavy to me, bringing out sharp edges. It always happens when I do some of those "440 blurs".

Anyway, that's a very nice shot 👍

Awesome car choice as I've almost never seen it, and it looks badass with those black rims swapped on! Colors are just great, and the sky is clear as well 👍

I think you may have overdone the reflection on the rear bumper though. It's very nice, but it's so strong that it nearly makes the rear bumper go invisible. But other than that, I love this shot damn much! :cheers:
