Monthly 200 km Gr.3 race - Back soon!

Its gonna be very close for a few of us.

@Infineon and myself both work today as well. It will probably be right at 5 or 10 minutes before the actual race is about to start when I can log on.

If I hit any traffic delays on my way home (and it happens quite often) then I won't make it.
I will do my best but it's gonna be very very close.

Having mechanical issues at work, I'm stuck here at work till 5pm EST :banghead:

Great job @WhiteFlight1, really enjoyable race, good first race of the series and looks like there is some close competition.

Tyre wear and fuel setup was just right for this race, really enjoyed that.

Yeah, gotta agree with Venster here! It was a great format, both tyre and fuel strategy was open, and i was for instance able to close up on a 2-stopping Zephyr during my last stint, with fresher mediums on my last stint of my 3-stop run. Made for some great racing, though i binned it coming in to turn one on the penultimate lap. Really looking forward to the next race! :)

Perhaps it would be an idea to move the race an hour, so to help our hard working american friends? Though obviously, i do enjoy racing late in the evening instead of in the middle of the night lol ;)

Very much so, you proved that. I ran a 2 stop mediums run but you closed the gap quite a bit with three stops.

But the strategy was open, potential for a one stop with some fuel saving. Interlagos works well for endurance as the pit time is longer than most so it gives a real opportunity for different strategies to work. Other tracks the pit in is just too short.

@Hasse R and @HoonigaN96 both keeping me pushing all race 👍

I think 3 stops would definitely have been faster for me I lost too much time on worn tyres, I could just about match @Venster for the first 6 or 7 laps a stint but would drop about 5 seconds over the next 10 laps, as my car lost its cornering advantage, after my first pitstop I stopped thinking about winning and started worrying about where @Hasse R would be after the final pitstops

Thanks for everyone that showed up! Congrats to Venster on his win  And there was some new drivers I never raced before and they all seemed to be good people. We had 8 drivers taking part, unfortunately one DnF. Next time around I aim for 10 :)

Just been thinking about setting up a Gr. 2 series on the last Saturday of each month running at the same time of day as this, just wondering if any of you fellas were interested?

I am ditching the Ferrari. It was terrible on tires. Either that or I really need to work on my driving so that I dont totally destroy my tires.

I'll test whatever cars are available.

It was a great event and I'll be back for the best one.

This bloody sucks, I missed your Gr3 race!! I was looking for the thread on Friday to find the start time and I couldn't find it. I was looking in my watched threads on GTP but the forum saves every thread you comments on or even like I think and they limit how far back you can look. I want to race in this series but it seems like the talking was kinda quiet the last couple weeks. I was still working when I found the thread 5 minutes before race start.

Sounds cool! I must admit I have very little experience in Gr.2 though. I'm away from home a couple of weekends every month but if I'm home I'll be joining!

Can't wait for the next round. Maybe I won't have such a lonely race lol. GT Sport was the real hot lap simulator for me Saturday  great racing with everyone. The Porsche did really well for me having not driven it much and not really playing GTS for 2 weeks :scared:

@DC2_Evan I think next round will be closer with hopefully a couple more drivers. I was pretty lonely too, but I believe I could have challenged for the podium if I didnt mess up that ridicolously  I also have decided to set fuel at 1 so any fuel advantage between the cars won't really be an issue

I agree, with a few more people it should be a good race. I wasn't to mad about being alone because I was really able to work on my consistency at Interlagos so it worked out for me lol. Plus it gave me some food for thought about using the Porsches in the next official FIA season
