Well thought i show yall my current pride and joy the chevy k20. I got the truck a few months ago from an old man, the story behind the truck was it parked under a tree back in 2003 and hasn't been touched sense, the old man didnt know the last owner because he just lefted the truck there one night. So im in the process of restoring it to its natural beauty. The specs for the truck is it has a 1973 Chevy Corvette 350 small block in it... Not original motor, it has Locking hubs for the 4wd, its an 4 speed auto, it has 685K miles on it aswell. Going to upload pictures of it soon oh and it has 0% rust

Nice looking truck. Out of curiosity, how do you know it has 685K miles on it? If I'm not mistaken those trucks have 5 digit odometers so once the reach 99,999 miles they just roll back to 0. Since the old man has only had it since 2003 after a random person left it under one of his trees, how do you know the odo has already rolled over 6 times?

I've always been a fan of that body style though. In fact, I've got a buddy who is restoring one right now. Hes got an 800hp 12 Valve Cummins to swap in instead of a gasser though.

It has 6 digit odo, and nice i was considering putting a 454 in it but i knew that thing would drink gas,

I mentioned in another thread that I love these year trucks. I have had several trucks and a blazer around the exact same year. Ranging between 77-79. All mine were 4x4.

I would not install a 454. Not even worth it. You would have to change dang near everything. The 350 will work perfectly fine for that truck. If you really feel you must add more power, your best option would be to turn your current 350 into a 383 stroker. This would allow everything to stay a direct bolt on in the engine bay and drive train. While gaining much more hp and torque. It is very easy to get 400-500hp out of a 383 stroker even on a budget.

685k miles whoa!!! Also 0% rust is not correct at all. Minimal rust maybe but 0% is impossible especially for a 4x4 truck with 685k miles. Plus the fact I can see a fair amount of rust in the above pics. Still it is in pretty good shape for that year and those miles. ;)

Yeah 383 is a good idea, the rust you see is surface rust only places it at is very first crease of the hood and a tiny bit on the back, im replacing the mirrors.
