More on GT Sport's Mysterious "Mileage" System

The range that is offered to adapt power and weight is just arbitrary to begin with, so it doesn't make much difference, if it's slightly less wide.
I suspect that we'll see some races with BOP requirements that will exclude some 'level 1' cars in the class because the power or weight can't go down low enough, or up high enough, but accept them at level 2 or 3.
Mileage Exchange
Good spot 👍

They've probably incorporated both forms of point accumulation into the game. Credits buys you cars, mileage unlocks levels or power and other things. You can buy the cars and drive them but until you drive a certain distance you can't unlock it's full tuning potential. It's a way of forcing you into gameplay, another version of grinding.

Still wrong, unless you mean that in a driving game you have to drive certain distances because that's the core of a driving game: Driving.
Then you are correct.

Mileage Store

Yup.

As I've mentioned in some prior posts, with how:
- Using Mileage is an achievement,
- The received/spent icons are designed ("downloaded"/"sent"),
- Mileage Exchange/Store is on the left main menu (since a bit earlier than E3),
* Photo social sharing menu.

All leads me to believe it may be more than a vanity store for helmets/suits/poses/special stickers and colors, I suspect it may be a marketplace for user content. So PD would clearly be STEALING IDEAS FROM FORZA.

.
Which party is wrong and what is your source for that?

News like this does help me though - no pre-order is for certain now (you'd think I'd learnt after No-Mans-Sky actually). The thought of having to tether myself to this game to gain miles or pay to play is just about the biggest turn off, especially with PCars2 kicking around to compare to...

Apologies for the mini-rant, not starting a flame war hopefully. I truly hope GT Sport is everything we want it to be and more, I love the series!

No problem, every racing games these days mostly offer variety of content and features, while GTS seems lack of it that seems reasonable why some people did complain after a year of delay. I also hope GT Sport will shaping into better game after release through updates.

What does "using milage is an achievement" even mean?

And what are the 2 things Johnnypenso was wrong about?
( you said "still" wrong, which means he was wrong, and is wrong again)
Finally, where is your proof to be telling people they're flat out wrong? Especially about a subject that, as far as I know, nobody actually has a definitive answer for?

It was mentioned in an article here, regarding custom liveries, that one would be able to share them.

It begs the question, would be be able to "sell" for miles? Could we use mileage to upgrade any car, not just the one used to earn the miles?

Since GT5 you were able to purchase vehicles, race suits, and even horns with the same currency, so I see no logical reason for that to change.

My speculation, and that's all it is, is that Mi's are a social form of currency independent from credits used to upgrade vehicles for Sport Mode and exchange for user-generated content.

Also, any word on a Track Path Editor for the new game?

I'm not sure where either of these notions come from.

There's no indication that Mileage shuts anything away from you, as we've only seen it being 'spent' to increase the range of entry requirements a given car can meet.

There's absolutely no hint at all that GT Sport will be 'pay to play' and that has never been suggested, ever.

I think he means PS Plus and not a system similar to iRacing -example-.

On a console you need PS+ or XBL to play PCARS2 online too, so it's not that - and this is a thread about the Mileage system.

It means that "Using (or spending) Mileage" is (tracked in-game as) an Achievement (much like 'Earning Mileage' or 'Session Time Spent').

What are the 2. Hm.
= "you said "still" wrong, which means he was wrong, and is wrong again"
Couldn't it be 1? He was wrong about something in the past, and continues to be wrong in the present.
And even if the context wasn't enough, it was bolded. :indiff:

As far as you know is not far enough.
We have plenty of videos and pictures and pictures of videos. And I made a post about it too, there's further evidence that appeared after it.

And finally, there's the article you are commenting on in case my post lacks clarity, is suspiciously untrustworthy, or of insufficient logic to your standards.

Assuming there isn't any microtransactions for the Mi currency, I think it'd be great to have to race to earn them. You'll then have to weigh your options as to which cars to tune up.

Still lost, but ok.
Your words "believe" and suspect" gave me the impression that you didn't "know".

What about...

forza-6-microtransactions.jpg

I just went to official gran-turismo website and they still have this shot there:

i1ZYeO8z9413yb.jpg

Notice the icon in between the credits (24.600) and followers (8).

All the screenshots in the website are obviously outdated, as we've seen different UIs in more recent builds. But it begs the question:

Is that icon suppose to represent the "Milage" points? Maybe at the time they had no decision on what to call it yet so they went with a more or less common icon for tokens/premium currency?

Just speculating of course.

If Milage points were so valuable, why would PD pack credits with special editions of the game instead? We don't get a single M point with especial editions or pre ordering the game.
Bait-and-switch? So you think you're good with cash but then you see you need certain "miles" too? Then it links to the store, especially when you want that GTR GR.3 meta car...
