The demo is out on the PS Store, and I think the full game comes out Feb. 10th.

Hello, nurse!

Edit: Damn. Tree'd. But I have nurses!

Ask.Men has recently published their annual "Top 10" Hype-Worthy Games... and all but one is now or will be available for the PS3 (Punch-Out!! for the Wii), and four are PS3 exclusives, including three of the top four games in the list:

No.1 - Killzone 2 (PLAYSTATION 3)

Release date: February 27, 2009

Killzone 2 is not only the most hyped game of the year, it may be the most hyped title of its FPS generation. It has been a long time coming (Sony and Guerilla blew everyone away with teaser videos several years ago), but as just about any critic alive will tell you, this is one of the finest FPS experiences in history. Those who pay attention to the industry will know that Killzone 2 dominated headlines throughout the past few months, and shooter fans everywhere will be treated to a singular adventure loaded with stunning visuals, superior controls and the most brutal, in-your-face intensity imaginable.

No.2 - Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PLAYSTATION 3)

Release date: Q4 2009

The original Uncharted emerged from obscurity in late 2007 to become one of the top PS3 exclusives available. Since then, everyone has been clamoring for the sequel, and early media (including a recent teaser displayed at the Spike TV Video Game Awards) has dropped jaws around the world. Not only does it have the potential of becoming the prettiest title in existence by utilizing the PS3’s immense capabilities, it will also feature new gameplay enhancements. Stealth will play a role this time around, and developer Naughty Dog has stressed the emergence of “emotional attachment” with the characters, especially concerning protagonist Nathan Drake.

No.3 - Street Fighter IV (PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360)

Release date: February 17, 2009

The first truly huge release of the year has been met with unbelievable critical acclaim and widespread fan appreciation. Street Fighter is a legend in the world of fighters, but it desperately needed a resurrection and rejuvenation, and Capcom succeeded in delivering just that. Many are already calling Street Fighter IV the finest installment ever and the best fighter of its generation, so can you pass it up? It’s colorful, fast and challenging enough to satisfy all the old fans out there, and it also has enough accessibility for casual followers of the series. Vent your economic frustration safely with Street Fighter IV!

No.4 - God of War III (PLAYSTATION 3)

Release date: TBA 2009

If you ask action fans to name their favorite video games, most will have the first two God of War titles on their lists, and everyone is anxiously anticipating this next-gen iteration. We’ve already seen jaw-dropping previews that have left even the most ardent gamers breathless, and although it may not release until 2010, it’s going to be one of the most talked-about titles this year. Kratos is going to be kicking ass and taking names in his most epic, dynamic quest yet, so prepare yourself for an massive slashfest that every red-blooded male alive should adore!

No.5 - Resident Evil 5 (PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360, PC)

Release date: March 13, 2009

Behind the already released Street Fighter IV and Killzone 2, Resident Evil 5 is considered by many to be the most anticipated title of 2009. The fourth entry, which launched in the last generation of consoles, rejuvenated the long-running yet ailing franchise and generated a new legion of survival/horror fans. This new release may be the most intense, atmospheric Resident Evil experience ever; preview videos have provided eager eyes with some of the most impressive visuals ever seen. The zombies in this new generation have evolved; although they won’t initially move very fast, there are a great many of them, and they’ll rush you. Get ready!

No.6 - BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams (PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360, PC)

Release date: Q3 2009

BioShock was one of 2007’s best titles on the Xbox 360 and PC, then it got even more praise when it was released for the PLAYSTATION 3 (with extra content!) in 2008. After such a warm reception, there was little doubt that 2K would provide us with a sequel, and we’ve already seen the teaser debut trailer to confirm its existence. Some will call it a FPS; others will say it’s a FPS with role-playing elements, but most all will call it an amazing experience, and Sea of Dreams is certainly one of 2009’s hottest upcoming titles. Those looking for a deeper, more story-oriented FPS should pay close attention to this release.

No.7 - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii)

Release date: TBA 2009

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare exploded onto the scene in 2007 and took the first-person-shooter (FPS) world by storm. It scooped up countless “game of the year” victories, and although last year’s Call of Duty was another excellent entry in the series, Infinity Ward is back to give us a sequel to one of the most popular titles in history. Modern Warfare has already managed to break all sorts of online multiplayer records, so if the past is any indication, gamers will assault stores in droves when the follow-up title drops this year.

No.8 - Punch-Out!! (Wii)

Release date: TBA 2009

Veteran gamers will instantly recognize the name as they can easily recall the days of Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! on the original Nintendo. Well, they’re bringing back a classic, and it’ll come to the Wii, where instead of relying on thumb velocity, you will have to take down your opponent with your actual hand movements. Assume the boxing stance, cover up when necessary and unleash your timely attack! 20 years ago, we couldn’t imagine actually having our punching fists reflected on the screen in front of us, but hey, the game industry has come a very long way.

No.9 - Dead Rising 2 (PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360, PC)

Release date: TBA 2009

Just recently confirmed, Dead Rising 2 is the sequel to the original zombie slashfest that became an early favorite of Xbox 360 owners. Now, as most people expected, Capcom will make the new title available to PLAYSTATION 3 owners as well, so even more gamers will get a shot at slicing and dicing zombies. The original’s most talked-about feature will return: You can launch an assault on those stumbling flesh-eaters with almost anything you find, everything from random objects like umbrellas to the truly nasty stuff like lawnmowers. Dead Rising 2 takes place in a Vegas-like location, so use your imagination!

No.10 - MLB 09: The Show (PLAYSTATION 3, PlayStation 2, PSP)

Release date: March 3, 2009

Move over, Madden, there’s a new sheriff in town. Last year’s MLB 08: The Show garnered worldwide critical acclaim, and many fans of our nation’s pastime agreed that it was the best baseball simulator to date. This year’s installment is going to be bigger and better in just about every possible way, and you can expect even more in the way of realism and authenticity. It’s designed specifically for the hardcore fans who want to be managers in the next life, so MLB 09: The Show will deliver a ridiculous amount of depth, along with an accurate yet accessible gameplay format.

No.8 - Punch-Out!! (Wii)

Release date: TBA 2009

Let me get this striaght. A site, called askmen.com, has rated a Punch Out remake, which has removed Tyson, in the top ten most anticipated games, but they did not take the ultra-realistic Fight Night Round 4, which features the dream fight, that boxing fans have debated for decades now, of Tyson vs Ali?

Yes, gaming nostalgia is good and Punch Out was fun, but if this one controls like Wii Sports Boxing the game will need to come packaged with an AED. I also have nostalgia for the glory days of boxing (Ali) and remember vividly when it went brutally ugly (Tyson). To see that matchup, even virtually, is a beautiful thing.

GT5
UFC undisputed
Fight night round 4
Need for speed shift
NCAA football 2010
I was really excited for race pro on the 360, but that turned out to be garbage so far.
Socom confrontation
call of duty modern warfare 2
Operation flashpoint

The Beatles: Rock Band.
CoD:MW2 (CoD6? :P)

That's about all I've actually had time to look at, this year's games sort of took a backseat when the PS3 broke. InFamous looks like it could be good too.

From,
Chris.

Tekken 1-3 were on the PS1, Tekken 4 and Tekken Tag were on the PS2 (Xbox?), Tekken 5 on the 360, Tekken 5: Dark Resurection was on the PSN, and now Tekken 6.

Actually, Tekken Tag, Tekken 4, and Tekken 5 were all on PS2, Tekken never had an Xbox debut.

Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection also first made it's debut on the PSP, and the arcade version was later ported to the PSN, which later received an update to enable online play, and was dubbed Tekken: DRO (Dark Resurrection Online).

Tekken 6 will be the second Tekken title to get published on a platform that isn't Sony branded. The first was Tekken Advance on the GBA (which actually looked stunningly good for a GBA title).

Also, it's extremely unlikely that God of War 3 will come out during the Calendar Year 2009. It will almost certainly come out during Sony's Fiscal Year 2009, which ends in March. So, it's safe to say, God of War 3 will probably release in Feb / March of 2009. Probably mid/late March. This way, Sony can split up the sales revenue between two fiscal years, which will help them on the stock market.

In the last couple of days I found one that seems to have slipped under the radar a bit: Stormrise. A multi-layer RTS where the camera is in the 3rd person view. I don't know if I like the sound of the 'whip select' feature for consoles, but I may give this one go on the PC.

I don't have many wishes for PS3 in 2009.

Only ...

GranTurismo 5

... and I keep dreaming that PD will release rather sooner than later :D

I could have sworn there was a Tekken on the 360. My mistake.

Sony really needs to clarify fiscal vs calendar dates, as I have often seen news stories have to run a follow-up or update clarifying.

I saw the following article in a news search, and was genuinely surprised at the games listed:

Halo 3: ODST
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Dragon Age: Origins
Mafia II
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

I'm surprised for two reasons:

1) Because all but one (Halo) of those games is a multi-platform title that is coming out for the PS3 at the same time... seems odd for a Top 5 list for upcoming 360 games. :odd:

2) Is Dragon Age: Origins and Mafia II really top 5 contenders? If so, I'm going to definitely add them to my watch list.

My list: F109, Dirt 2, Gran Turismo 5, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, FIFA10, Supercar Challenge, inFamous, Uncharted 2, Fuel and that's about it. Lots, I mean lots, of DLC too.

Grid 2 please Codemasters?

EDIT- Added Fuel, inFamous and Uncharted 2 to my list.

I don't know about Dragon Age, but Mafia II should be. The first one was my favorite game on PC.

I have always like 'Mafia' story lines, whether it be in movies or games, so I'll definitely be keeping an eye on that game, thanks! 👍

I suggest checking out inFamous too, as they seem eerily similar. Until they launch it will be hard to tell which will be better.

I can't really explain it, but up until tonight, InFamous has not really peaked my interest, other than the open world sandbox element, which I always find appealing... but I just finished watching the new trailers and in-game footage that they just made available for download in the PSN store yesterday... and all I can say is... PRE-ORDER!!!!

Wow... this game looks like it's going to be absolutely amazing! I really like how much control you have over the environment and how you can crawl and grip onto things... that shot of him in the tunnel grabbing on to the edge of the bus from the roof... and it isn't a cut scene... WOW!

A huge PS3 exclusive sleeper that no one is talking about that I'm sure will debut at E3 and will be announced for release this year...

Twisted Metal PS3

That is because the best anyone has had to go on so far has been Jaffe being a sneaky SOB and one teaser image of a nuclear explosion that kind of looks like a clown, but not quite Sweet Tooth.

There is also the fact TM3 and TM4 nearly killed the series and has caused TM: Black and TM: Head On to truly be sleeper hits, Head On more than Black. But Head On's sleeper status may be more due to it's being on PSP first (I have both versions). I am not sure how much the deaths of multiple members of the original development team during Black 2 also played into fans not jumping on Head On.

My hope for this is that it will take the same premise they began with Black 2, where the singleplayer mode included a handful of levels out of the car where you, as Sweet Tooth, had to escape the asylum and get your ice cream truck out of the impound yard. It also was going to have you drive from arena to arena. I would also be interested in seeing where they are going with the Sweet Tooth/Minion/Roadkill storyline.
