When thinking of the most powerful 1.6L now, the Peugeot RCZ R with 270hp comes to my mind.

I’ve owned the 200hp version of this one, great car!

But the 270hp engine was introduced in 2013. Any better figures right now?

It's 270PS, which is 266hp. That means it's beaten by the GR Yaris, which is a 268hp (272PS) 1.6-litre three-cylinder.

It’s still impressive for a 7 years old car.
I think the power of 2.0L engines was much more evolving during these years.

(Even without the very special Gemera engine)

I suppose the most powerful 1.6 nowadays would be the Merc Project One but I don't know how much power the ICE makes on its own. And it's not really the same kind of car as the ones posted here...:lol:
