Most powerful

Well it's hard to say, there are turbo's that are built that can handle HP that no cars can produce.....So.....There isn't really a definite answer that i'm aware of.

I'm guessing a turbo like this...

EDIT: and I'm very stupid and didn't read the whole thread. :)

Well... theres really no limit to how big you can make a TC..... If you don't mind the lag that comes with a HUGE TC.. then you'd have a huge *and i mean, HUGE boost in HP* but your lag will be so horrific that the race would be done and you still havne't even spooled up yet

The biggest on I heard of an will see if I can find the link is one that is rated to 2000hp. It is for a 5.7 liter engine or bigger.

It depends on the engine, car and purpose. I personally like the T28, but that's 'cause it's on a SR20DET in a silvia for targa-style tarmac rallying. If I were talking about a larger engine, I'd prolly go a larger turbo, same if I were drag racing, etc.

Really, it just depends on the engine. There is no "Best" or "Most Pwoerful" in that category, some turbos work well with some enignes and bad with others, same with superchargers. Especially on superchargers, as the superchargers power depends on how much power the engine ALREADY has.

Well, I dont now about the best, I guess it would matter on your Application. If I were drag racing, I would wanta Supercharger for that low-end power. However, if I were road racing, I would want a turbo, since I would most likely be running in the higher RPM's all day, which is where the Turbo makes its most power...

When drag-racing, turbos are very much suited as you literally get to select the rpm that you start from. You are always in the best part of the power band, if you've geared properly, so there's no need to select a supercharger over turbo for low end response.

yes, but that is the start. You still have to change gears, which goes to a lower RPM and climbs. I would want more power in the lower RPM's to help me get up to speed faster. Im not saying turbo's are bad for Drag Racing either though...

When changing down from redline (or alternatively the very high RPM that you change at), I've never seen a large turbo car change below its on boost RPM. (Not that anyone would admit to it, anyway :) )
