I've had this issue myself... trying to get on Standard to get my fix because Pro races I liked weren't online... the difference in handling is immediately obvious... it's so much easier... feels so much more like GT3 in technicolor than GT5P. Not necessarily a bad thing, as GT3 was fun, but still, a big step backwards.
In Standard, you can drift your way clear round Daytona Oval at nearly 200 mph. In Pro, the track will shuck you off and into the walls if you even think the word "powersl-" *whumpf!*
