:) Just a quick poll: which "Motorland" course do you like better? The one in GT2 or the one in GT4? If you had a choice to do laps on either track, which one would you go for?

Even tho the graphics are crappier, I actually like the GT2 version! It's more colorful. It's more go-kartish. And you can get "out of course" so easily, it's divine. Only problem is I don't think any races were actually held at Motorsport Land in GT2. :(

The GT4 version takes more skill, of course...but I never find myself doing practice laps on the empty course like I did in GT2. 👍

Never played GT2, but I like Motorland. With a 40-second or so lap, we use it to simulate autocross runs. I only wish it was flat for that reason.

Actually, I REALLY hope that GT5 has an autocross editor that allows you to make your own cone courses.

I don't like Motorland just because I had a CR-X that wouldn't stay on track around it (The thing SPUN on me for chrissakes!), and no car is really "fun" there. (Well, maybe my old Integra, but... No.)

Autocross editor: Sounds really good. Expand the Gymkhana stuff too.

I am... *gasp*

In all seriousness, Motor Sports Land is better for me, as its impression was further enhanced when compared to other longer courses in GT2. At the time, all courses were at minimum 1km longer. Remove Autumn Ring Mini, and you have a gap of 5km (on average). So, in GT4 there was Ice Arena, Autumn Ring Mini, and Gymkhana, diminishing its presence.

Also, the fact that Motor Sports Land obviously came first helps.

Motorsports Land was better IMO, I used it to check how my cars handle during the ultimate test. Also when I broke out of Motorsports Land, I can check how fast a car really is, just slap in a toothpick on the X button once you leave, then come back later and check the speed. :)

It was also more fun in GT2, you can easily beat many supercars, maybe even race cars with 200HP FF's when on 2 player mode on Motorsports Land. Too bad cars aren't as fun to drive in GT4... I drove the newer Punto HGT in GT4, and boy, was my face was red after trying to make the damn thing turn!

I've never run MSLand.

And MLand sucks.

So they both do.

Yeah that makes sense, one sucks and so the other one must as well.

I liked Motorland in GT2 more than in GT4. It was a totally different course. Pretty much perfectly flat, tons of turns and nearly all of them right angles. About 30 seconds per lap and grip or drift both worked extremely well. 👍

GT2's Motorland was one of my favorite courses. I missed it in GT3 and with GT4 I really wanted to see the original ML.
If I can find a picture of the track I will post it but for now I can't seem to find one. :(

...but kind of blatant at the same time.

I agree with Kent and racerx510, it was fun to drift and drive small cars there. I used to hold Levin vs. Trueno trials there, turning into a personal weekly race series. Both were fully modified, and the Levin came out on top after being dominated by the Truenos for so long. Good times...

Hey, this post was made at 5:10pm. Cool.

Yeah, just wait'll you have a thread made at 4:20  Anyways, another thing about Motorsport Land in GT2 was all the 2-player battles me & one of my buddies used to have 👍 He just about flipped when I showed him how to get "out of course" :)

is motorsports land the extremely long course in gt2??

its kinda like a huge test track that you might find at a cars test facility

with like...different sizes of horseshoes and 90 degree turns...and such?

just wondering cause i havnt played it in a while and wasnt sure

Sometimes I wish they had put the really twisty track in GT3 on GT4. Now that was a good track. Motorland though...well it just sucks really...I always feel too cramped on it, there isn't much tarmac to fling your car around. I also have never liked the way that the large hairpin is way too hard to get round without hitting the dirt or the walls.

I've never played the GT2 version so I don't know, so I will make the assumption that they both suck. :)

You guys kill me with assumptions and rob yourselves of knowing one of the best courses in the GT series because of those same assumptions.

GT2's Motorland was nothing like the motorland of GT4.
I'm going to be searching for video of a lap or a picture of the track layout because it really was an awesome course and I hate to see it being knocked just on assumption.

Btw, the long track was "complex string" (another one of my favorites).

No, Motorsport Land was actually the shortest track in GT2. You may not have noticed it because you can only race here from the Arcade disc in practice or 2-player mode.
