Well now GM should not pass up on the opportunity to use a slogan such as "The new 2017 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28: Track-tested AND crash-tested." It may not be handling well, but at least it's holding up well...

It doesn't look like it handles that bad, it's just heavy.

Wait, it's an American Muscle car, and you guys are trying to work out why it crashed when it was faced with a corner :lol:

Isn't the answer obvious?

 that's kind of funny.

You know what else is funny? American muscle cars are currently leading championships in Weathertech, CTSCC, and PWC. Surely they're not beating their European and Japanese rivals purely on straight line performance? :P

I know it's a joke but the recent sports cars from Eagleland have actually been quite agile.

Massive crash for Giovinazzi in GP2 Race 2 at Catalunya. He was definitely shook up, but reported to ok by the commentators. Complete bone-head move by Gelael. It was incredibly lucky that Pic was where he was, and not a hair slower through turn 10, otherwise that may have been one of the worst accidents in recent history.

During the actual race broadcast, they showed the overhead angle from above T12 at full speed, and it was pretty nasty. Can't find that clip anywhere though.

Scott Neal (who?) in action, showing how to get permanently kicked out of ARCA racing.

Wow, that track looks dangerously cheaply-built.

Also, playing the US national anthem while the winner was being restrained from hitting that Neal douchebag was a nice touch.

Dont really know how to describe this, just hoping all drivers are OK!
Peter Li who took the worst of it is "awake and alert" in the medial centre, no other information on his injuries, both other drivers sound like they're okay.
Meanwhile, F3 says:
Following on-track evaluation, Zhi Cong Li and Ryan Tveter were transferred to the circuit’s medical centre. One driver was initially unconscious, but both drivers were conscious on arrival at the medical centre.

Zhi Cong Li has subsequently been taken to hospital via helicopter due to possible head and back injuries.

Ryan Tveter was taken to hospital by ambulance for further examination.
So it might be worth hanging fire on posting the video until we're sure it's not going to have killed someone.

I dislike how most of the time these big accidents get given the slow mo treatment.
I think it's because people like seeing how the accident unfolded. Not out of some macarbe fascination, but rather because they like understanding the oftentimes complex consequential sequence of events. Played at speed, it's easy to miss Gelael's second move across the circuit.

Carlin Team
Following initial assessment at the medical centre, Peter was transferred to a University hospital by helicopter. Peter is undergoing treatment for multiple broken bones in his heel, which will require surgery in the near future. Peter has also been diagnosed with four fractured vertebrae which do not require surgery. While suffering with other bruising and small injuries, Peter is alert and speaking with team personnel.

It sounds like he will be OK. Out of action for a while I expect. I will leave it up to @Famine to decide when the video goes back up.

I think the AUP prohibits any video where anybody is killed or injured. There is a video on Mattzel89's twitter of the same accident which is much more frightening.

Is that the live feed version with the direct camera?
