I was thinking the other day that a forum dedicated to movies would be a nice idea. Or perhaps just a sub-forum in the rumble strip. We talk about videos on occasion in the PS2 forum, but I'm betting that there are lot's of people that would like to hear opinions on what other movies members are seeing.
Just a random thought. ;)

Like, movies you see in the movie theater? I'm a little worried it might not draw much interest... :nervous: Let's see what kind of response this thread gets. :)

My $0.02:

I'm kinda busy enough as it is at the moment, and I can't forsee this changing. So, a movies forum is something that I may dip into occasionally, but you wouldn't find a hardcore attendance from me in there.

I love movies (I have a £3,500 home theatre system!) and I love talking about them, but I just don't have the time.

So my opinion is that I don't have any objections to the creation of the forum, but I wouldn't be actively contributing to it.

I definitely think that it would have to include Videos too. That's how I and most people really see films anyway.

I third it:D
I think a movie sub-forum would be a great idea:idea: I like talking about movies, and like to hear people's opinions on movies. And just an idea: If you were to make a forum for movies, you could move that "My DVD collection skyrocked since PS2 came out" thread to it, to get it started;)

Yes please... when i first started that thread i got alot of responds to it. But when it was moved and hidden from the rest of the public :( I havent seen too many other responds to it. Mostly me and Tom.

Movies, eh?

I like movies, especially those watched on DVD. When I go to the theatre now, the sound systems just do seem to do it for me. I like to "Experience" the movies to their fullest.

*now where did I put that 25ft. big screen, milling around aimlessly*

I think that a sub-forum for talk about movies would be great. I'll contribute to it as long as I've seen the movies...:D I'm already thinking of a couple movies I'd like to ask others about...:)

Two movies that I currently have a unsurpassed desire to see are:

  1. Episode II
  2. and Lord of the Rings.
    [/list=1]

    and in that order!

I got a glempes of Episode II when I took my wife and son to see Harry Potter (another good movie). The trailer/teaser was just enough to really hook me for the release...

very good choices....

i enjoyed Harry Poter as well, saw it last night.

I tell you what, i am excited about E.T. back in theaters too!!

Man I wanna see Jeepers Creepers, I missed in the cinemas so I can't wait for it on DVD.

Jeepers Creepers, what a crap name.

Erm...
All Sony unless stated:
32" WEGA Widescreen (£1,400)
DV-S725P DVD player (£400)
STR-DB940 AV Amp (£400)
Video (am at work, and can't remember the model number) (£200)
Pace Cable (£70/month)
Bose Acoustimass 15 5.1 Speaker Kit (£1,000)
Stands and cables (£300)

Cost mounts up I'm afraid, but Jeez it's good stuff! And it's not like we bought it all in a one-er, but over a period of two years. A lot of the cabling was costly since there's a far physical distance between components, such as the DVD player and the TV (4m).

I can really recommend the Bose stuff, especially if your room isn't massive. Ours is about 3m x 3m, and the small speakers are really unobtrusive, but fill it with sound. And I think 5 speakers plus a sub, all perfectly matched, for £1,000 is pretty good. :)

Sorry if this seems like a brag post  but the question was asked ;)
