Moving from DS3 to a wheel.. Experiences?

Do you know in GT5 when you grind for ages to save up and buy the fastest and best looking cars? Well when using the wheel you don't get to look at it and how pretty it looks compared to the other cars on the circuit.

Reason is it seems the 3rd person view is not suited to the wheel.

I sometimes forget which car I'm driving, thats my only issue.

That´s right. 3rd person is just not the best way to go while using a wheel. I mostly use the hood cam, cause there are just so much standards I like to drive. And in racing, it gives me a better overview on the field and what´s happening besides me.

If you are getting a G25 wheel then I would suggest having it set-up properly as well. When the pedals are not set-up properly it really kills the experience I find.

I made something similar to this.

The pedals can be taken apart and arranged how you like. The G25/27 are very easy to mod if not made to be modded. Having the pedals like that makes it way easier to feather and throttle and brake I find. And that's exactly what makes the game easier with a wheel. The throttle and brake control. Especially driving that RUF Yellowbird for example without proper throttle control, your spinning!

My transition from the DS3 to the wheel was seamless. My friends(who are good drivers) that aren't gamers and first time GT players picked it up easy.

That looks just nice. This a kind of PVC tubeframe? Is it rigid enough? Do you have maybe schematic drawings with measures? Would be great if you could PM me maybe some more info 👍

Thx!

Getting a wheel is the best decision you'll ever make. You have so much more control over your steering and throttle, it just isn't possible with the ds3
