So here’s my first car, a 2001 Volkswagen Golf GT TDI. Was initially looking to get a metallic grey one, but I ended up going down the same route as my brother’s previous golf and went for Indigo Blue. The cam belt was also recently changed so that’s a bonus, rear tyres may need changing soon though, so will give that another look tomorrow. Previous owner swapped the stock alloys for Montreals, which i was looking to do anyway :)

Already changed a few parts on it too :D since my brother left some of the parts from his old car. So with a little help from my brother we put on the small spoiler and mudflaps.

Here are some quick pics for now.

130bhp?
I used to have a Bora TDI Sport (130bhp) when I used to live it the uk (same colour as yours) and loved it.

I am a VW freak, I set up Newport Edition which is ran out of S.Wales

Enjoy the VeeDub life :)

Congrats on getting your first car! Looks like a great car. Enjoy your new found freedom :)

Thanks 👍

Yep 130bhp, correct me if i'm wrong but i think they also did a 150 version? will check out the site too. 👍

To be honest i was actually going to get a 1991 Honda CRX Vtec as my first car, but for the money they go for now, around £2,500 to £3,500. I would rather spend the money on something more worth it. That said I still would love to get a Honda CRX but at the moment i'm happy with my golf.

nice golf :P always fun cars, I love my baby :P even if it rolls a lot on track :P

Nice :D:tup:

Only had the car for about a week and someones just scraped the rear bumper, passenger side :( Going to have to get it resprayed now. Inspected it a little closer and seems like my neighbor had done it, paints been traded on both cars so i took a few pics of both car's and will have a chat with him tomorrow.

You can try polishing the other paint out and touching up any bits of paint taken without the need for a re-spray if it's not very bad.
Also, congrats in the car, looks very clean

Thanks 👍

Spoke to my neighbor today, he came clean before i even asked him. Said he'll pay for the respray too.

Here's a pic of the scrape after i cleaned it up, don't look that bad now, so maybe a touch up. What you think?

Taken with my phone so not the best of pics, but my brother said i might aswell get it resprayed as i was going to do the front bumper anyway. A friend can do both for £70 which seems fine.

Well if he'll pay for it then I don't see why not, just make sure it's well done otherwise it might look nice and new but not match the rest of the bodywork or go bad with the sun if bad quality paint is used.

Yeah i guess so, I'm gonna head down to the garage where my friend works. See some of the work he's done but i doubt I'll get much time this week.
