ok someone please help I've been searching for a week now and i still can't find an .mp4 converter to ANYTHING... I'd prefer one that converted to SVCD (mpg i think) or avi...only profb is i don't have the kinda change to drop on these high priced progs...I'm only using it once i have one file that needs converting thanks for ur help

MPEG 4 has better quality and is smaller why would you want to convert them?
mp4's won't work on a VCD or a SVCD I need to be able to convert to that

I only know some softwares can change mpeg4 into asf so...try these: Sonic Foundry Stream Anywhere and Windows Media Toolkit. But these tools are really difficult to operate. Also, you may need to update mpg4c32.dll which under windows/system after you install Windows Media Toolkit. The new version should be 4.00.0.3688 or 3.0.0.2700.

why not just download the codecs? I have a converter program called neo-divx crystal fusion that converts things really well but I've only tired changing TO MP4 not FROM. It takes hours to compress but the quality is awsome.
