We already have the script for the next season of "Stranger Things"...

By trying to rule out causes, this intrigue is becoming something personal that corrodes my curiosity; I guess we don't live in different parallel universes, so the next question that comes to mind is, what screen resolutions do you have? Could that have something to do with it...?
Iirc, we already noticed that the ‘net’ was visible for guys using AMD cards, while NVIDIA users don‘t see it…
Maybe it’s not the only factor, but at least one of them.

Is VIDIA a sub-brand of NVIDIA?

Yep, it could be another factor... The thing is that my primitive primate brain cannot understand why a simple code added to the extension solves the problem of the mosquito net... but creates another problem of overlapping...

My mind cannot handle it any more, you have to forgive me for being such a pain, but I just can't understand it... Arrrrgh... 😤

What I noticed is, that disabling AMD FSR does not fix it, but switching from different Aliasing methods worsened it. The less pattern I got is with "Original". With FXAA 3.11 it´s the worst of all. What about @JK1977 - you might have seen alot of discussion here recently reg. your car, do you have a clue how to fix this issue?

Kswindscreen was made specifically for the interior screen. Something to do with the cockpit_HR and reflections, I dunno exactly but it's very explicitely said in their car_pipeline pdf.

Don't worry, that should not have much negative impact on a formula 1 car :D

Yeah yeah right I was talking about F1 cars

To add fuel to the fire... 😁

In this image (of a rather tacky Renault 8 Gordini that I downloaded ages ago), you can see the grid pattern on the windscreen, which as I mentioned, seems to have been included to simulate dirt on the glass, and which is similar to the pattern that (some of us) can see on the Audi...

If I remember correctly, I've had this mod since shortly after I started playing AC, and back then my graphics card was a NVIDIA GT 1030 OC (a piece of junk, I know, but GPU prices were sky-high at that moment and I bought it as an emergency purchase,waiting for better times), and even then I was struck by how bad that dirty glass effect looked...

This weak alibi may put a dent in the theory that the GPU brand may play a relevant role in the mystery at hand... Elementary, my dear Watson! 🕵️‍♂️

Excuse my ignorance, but I thought it was all about this grid pattern (fly screen like microgrid):

which seems to be something totally different from what you are showing (a smudged, dirty windscreen)...right ?

THANK'S
Where is the DRIVER_70_COPERSUCAR
If it's something in the "driver3d" file in the "DATA" folder, it was a typing error on my part.

About the 4 1968 cars (various versions), I hope to upload them in the next few hours.

I spent practically the whole day trying to restart the PC, and the recovery process hasn't finished on startup yet.

I decided to open the A4 in Blender and fix its 3d inconsistencies. Please try this version as I have zero problems with windows and parts sticking out of them

I DO NOT CLAIM THE CAR AS MINE

Interesting you noticed a change with this. I have this problem too with the Audi, but I also had it with the V8 Supercar mod, but only the ford falcon for the longest time. But recently I played around with some CSP settings, I think one of which was switching to a different Aliasing method, and when I went back to the car to grab a screenshot for here to show I had it elsewhere too, it fixed itself (the ford falcon, not the Audi).

All that said, I'm also on an AMD car to add another +1 to possibly the issue relating to AMD GPUs somehow?

@Masscot got me thinking about shadows with his code he shared for eliminating light leaks in the cabin.

;stop sun ingress around cockpit mesh seams, into footwells etc
[SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...]
ACTIVE = 1
MATERIALS = whatever........
CAST_SHADOWS = 1
DOUBLE_FACE_SHADOW_BIASED = 1

Which works great.I also kept seeing a setting in many materials called Shadow_Bias_Mult, 0.(usually 0)
I screwed around with it and it sets the origin of the shadow in relation to the caster. Some people were actually recommending settings as high as 5! A negative number can even move the shadow in front of its origin. A 1 seems fine to keep from getting 'shadow acne" (self shadowing).0 is playing with fire.

Combined with Double_Face_Shadow_Bias you get good shadows instead of disconnected ones.

Sorry, but it seems that the file compression when uploading the image does not work in my favor... It's true that it is not seen in my image (I should have checked), but seen live on my screen, the dirt spots on the windscreen of the Gordini are formed by the same microgrid pattern in the image that you show.

The only thing I wanted to bring up to the experts is the possibility that an obsolete mode, material or texture was used on the Audi to represent the grime on the windshield, and that was the cause of the problems; as I already mentioned, I had already seen that pattern in very old and basic mods.

Good evening.
Here is the link to two more cars.

1977-COPERSUCAR FD04 + F5 ( 6 versions )

1977-BRABHAM BT45B

This time from 1977:

  • Copersucar FD04 ( 3 versions )
  • Copersucar F5 ( 3 versions )
  • Brabham BT45B

I hope to be able to upload tomorrow:

1977 - Tyrrell P34 ( 4 versions )
1978 - Shadow DN8 ( 3 versions DN9 ):

Textures to be finished:
1977 - March 771
1977 - Ferrari 312T2
1977 - McLaren M26 (slightly different from the 1978 version)

In progress:
1977/1978 - Arrows/Williams/Surtees
The physics of the 1977/1978 cars are similar to the Lotus 78 (by legion) and Lotus 79 (by rss) There would be no reason to deviate from this.

If possible:
1968 - Brabham Bt26 (3 versions - see prints)
1968 - McLaren M7A (5 versions - see prints)
1968 - Lotus 49B (4 versions - see prints)
1968 - Matra MS10 (6 versions - see prints)
1968 - Ferrari 312 (download the version by Legion)
1968 - Honda RA301 (download the version by Emil_1988)

For now, we'll be missing:
BRM and Cooper Then, with these models, make the 1969 versions Physics of the cars (all based on the Matra MS10 by Legion)

IMPORTANT
Always remembering that these cars are not 100% perfect because I don't know how to convert them completely (only partially). Then, with the help of other colleagues (MrHunt, Aleroy, marneus_boss) in improving the textures (the car's appearance will improve).
Amazing work as Always
Big Thank You

As an NVidia user (RTX4070 Super) i personally never experienced this microgrid on the front window of the A4 STW (currently driving v1.0.5.). I tried all versions by the way and none of them showing this to my recollection. Could therefore be an AMD thingy, or... is Fall guy (among others perhaps) driving the an A4 STW with front window heating we don't know about?

1739181049849.png

It's strange why they decided to use this solution:
Code:
[SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...]
ACTIVE = 1
MESHES = WINDOWS_INT2
CAST_SHADOWS = 0
because the letters on the glass do not cast a shadow.after all, you can add just a little bit
Code:
[SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...]
ACTIVE = 1
MESHES = WINDOWS_INT2
CAST_SHADOWS = 1
PROP_... = ksAlphaRef,0.4
and the shadow will appear as it should.
UPD.In general, this could have been done at the assembly stage in the ksEditor

I had a look with gimp, there is still some dirt in the original image if you mask the layer, I replaced it with a solid white color instead to make a test, if someone who has an AMD card can try this image in the 1995_PROCAR_2 skin with ACTK v1.0.5

Everyone who is suffering this running CMRT? If so try disabling it. Looks a lot like the transparency they use on their apps.
I use CMRT and I don't have this problem with the audi, but I only use some CMRT gearbox app, damage, tyres
and where do you see this grid in CMRT?

I honestly do not know why you keep editing files in gimp since there is a fixed version over here.

Without the net and the internal carbon cockpit coming out of the window.

Is it to hard to admit that there are problems at the original model? I have found 2 windshield meshes overlapping ( apart from the obvious and needed ones), 3 meshes for the net, 2 meshes for the internal carbon, 2 meshes for the internal plastics etc

After more investigation there seem to be more overlapping meshes especially at the roll cage (3 actually).

I have fixed them also for myself. Keep editing files in gimp
