Hey all! Its been a while, i'm still overseas in Iraq but heading home in early December. I just recently purchased a 2nd Gen GS300 2JZGE VVTI from a trusted dealer online and i've had it shipped home until I return to visit for Christmas. I've always been a fan of this car along with the IS300 especially in my import fanatic days. But since i've gotten older i've come to love the luxery performance variants the most, previously owning a 3 series and C Klasse my experiences have been pretty good. The import tuning scene got old to me but I'm a general car enthusiast and I have never grown out of the big bang heavy hitter sports sedans that have the potential to dominate even modified exotics. I'm talking about the M5, C63, RS6, GPower Hurricane, Brabus Rocket etc. These are the cars that only enthusiast really recognize, they aren't flashy and for the most part they all can be considered sleepers.., thats what i'm going for here.
Some time ago, around the beginning of the year before my deployment I was looking into getting a used C5 Corvette. I'm mostly appealed by its "drivers car" physics and big bang for the buck potent LS1, I even had a friend that owns a shop in San Antonio TX give me a discounted price on a full exhaust and LS3 heads. BUT, with both my Fiance and I wanting to have a kid I figured to go with something more practical, she drove a Chrysler 300Hemi until her brother totalled it but thats a different story . I spent months looking at the E60 545i, 335i sedan, E55 AMG, CLK 55, S4 etc. even the Jaguar S Type R at one point. Then it came to me, why spend so much on one car when I can get my DD (dailey driver) AND a C5 or perhaps another toy!?
Thats when this baby fell into my lap. Everything is up to par with show room condition, this vehicle has had one owner its whole life, fully loaded without a single modification, STOCK. This suits my taste perfectly, well it will once it has a 2JZ-GTE VVTI anyways. But if not I will swap the NA head for a T variant head. This will be a slow build given i'm active military and with my plans to be married beginning of the year. I'm looking to make 400rwhp which will be very mild for a 2JZGTE. The factory 2JZGE with 10.5 compression ratio can be turbocharged but with no more than a low 6-8psi which should produce around 300rwhp. It has been stated that with a different head gasket it can handle up to 24psi, but i'd rather spend an extra grand or two and beat on it every now and then and have the peace of mind knowing that I have a bullet proof setup. But for now im going to have a few goodies waiting for when I return home OEM+ LED rear lights, CCFL projectors, Tein H-Techs, JDM Aristo lip etc. and hopefully I can squeeze in an appointment to get the windows tinted before Xmas! Just a few things to make it more comfortable, unique and modern for me. Hope you enjoy!
