I'll throw this one out there.

I had quite a good time running this race, and it allows a wide arrangement of set-ups. This was one that I did for the Windbaggers. Sukerkin (Gt by the numbers) also ran it, in fact he took the win.

Mugens at Monaco - the S2000 visits La Cote D'Azur
In a recent adventure around this track in the Mugen, I was about 20 seconds shy of lapping the S2000 Type V. This would mean that had I run 26':18.987" I would have caught the S2000. So for 15 laps, I would have to run an average of 1':45.266". As opposed to the 1':46.593" I did average. Now, my best lap was a 1':44.187", so I know I could have easily lapped the S2000 had I put a number of smooth laps together. What I'm wondering is what might I have forgone (spend least amount of cash) to hit the 1':45.266".

This is the Challenge, take the Mugen S2000, spend the least amount of cash, and break the 1':45.266" mark.

These mods were what I used. What might could I have skipped and still hit the mark? Or, what other mods could be substituted instead?

Racing suspension
Racing muffler
Stage 2 NA
Computer chip
Triple clutch
Lightweight flywheel
Racing transmission
Full LSD
Super slicks
Lightweight 1
Lightweight 2
Port & polish
Oil change and a waxing.

To give an idea Sukerkin ran:
Semi Race Suspension = 7400
Sport Gearbox = 5700
Port Polish = 5500
Twin Plate Clutch = 2700
Racing Flywheel = 1050
Stage 2 Weight Reduction = 6700
T2 Tyres = 10500
TOTAL = 39550 cr

TIME = 1'44.263

I ended up running a 1'44.854 with this set-up:
Semi-race suspension = 7400
NA Stage 2 = 12500
Sports transmission = 5700
Triple Clutch = 4700
Racing Flywheel = 1050
T2 Tires = 10500
TOTAL = 41850 cr

Hmmmm, an S2000 silver and black sittin on chrome actin bad like that?

I'm sleepy sorry for that. :D

I'll give this a go. I finally took that evil Vice City game out of my PS2 and put back in GT3!

Ok, here's what I did.

After 5 laps, I got a 1'43.161

Here are the mods.

Brakes: 4,700
T4 tires: 16,500
Weight 1: 1,200
Weight 2: 5,500
Semi flywheel: 600
Twin clutch: 2,700
Chip: 1,500
NA stage 1: 4,900
Oil change: 250

Grand total: $37,850
Horsepower: 290

Boom:

Sorry, One thing that I failed to note in the above list was t2 tires only. I'm amazed that it took you only 5 laps. But then again I do recall you whupping someone else severly at this course...

I would have a go at this if I had the S2000 :( can't be bought, best look where to win it .

Jump in a fully modded NSX R and hit the amateur Type R races. Takes about 40 minutes to win one.

I'll be taking it out for another beating this weekend, to see if I can come closer to Boom's time.

Alright there Alex, T2's it is then. I'll try it with the same set up as well to keep my cash spending to a minimum.

Ok, just ran 11 laps on T2's.

Time: 1'43.699

New cash total: $31,950

If you want a replay, it's available.

You bet I wanna run against your ghost.

Load that baby up...

Man...$10k less, and 1.2+ seconds faster than me. Dare I say that anyone's going to have a tough time beating that one.

Here is my replay on T2's.

There are certain parts that I chose not to equip such as suspension. I found that the Mugen tuned sports suspension was sufficient. It allowed you to adjust camber and shocks and it allowed for enough stiffness in the car with just a bit of sway to it that it could be used advantageously especially in that last turn before the finish line.

Stock gearing I found sufficient as well as Monoco doesn't really let you get up to high speeds so the standard transmission worked well enough.

Since Monoco is such a tight track I chose the medium range clutch and flywheel as they would give enough added rev and acceleration characteristics that are fairly close to that of there racing counterparts. Couldn't justify the $$$ for the racing parts and there marginal performance advantages for the power level of the car.

I will, just as soon as I get my hands on one, nice low hp should be easy enough for me :D

Time by end of week ;)

Ok finally got round to winning the car( a silver one :P ) and having a go at this .
Monaco aint that bad after all :)

My first attempt at it was this

sports brakes @ 4.700
semi racing exhaust @ 2.900
chip @ 1.500
T2 tyres@ 10.500
oil change @ 250

total spent = 20.850...319bhp... time acheived after 20 laps was 1'44.497

Decided to spend a few bob more on a NA stage 1 to give me 352bhp total now spent 25.750 time acheived after 10 laps was

1'43.481

Not raced against this lap yet, but sure I could knock a few tenths amybe more of it if I tried 😈

Ok, get ready for a bunch of confused smilies again. :D

Do I have the wrong car or something? Ok, I started out with a fresh Mugen S2000 (0.0 miles) that began with 243 HP. I equiped the same parts as Kelly did and the final HP rating for the car is 286 HP. A far cry form the 319 that Kelly's car has. So, then I proceded to get the NA 1 that Kelly did. My final HP level with the NA tune was 313 HP.

In the time I have posted above (post #3) the mod's that I did are listed and the final HP level of the car is as well. It was at 290 HP.

Am I missing something here?

Ok just started up the game my Mugen is untouched and at 271bhp done oil change .. now 284bhp

are you using the type v boom ? I'm using the S2000 the same one thats used for tt3 .

Hey Kelly! How are ya?

Well, I got the car in the NTSC Drafting series garage. It says it's the Mugen S2000. There are 4 of them in that garage and all are the same.
It's the one that looks like it has a carbon fiber hood on it right?
