Multiplayer ridiculous "wiggle"

Hey guys,

my buddy and I did over 30 private lobby races over the last couple days. In every single race the other car kept wiggling or shaking like hell while steering. My own car is driving normal and smooth, but the other car is not. And vice versa. We both have really good internet connections and no problems in other games. This is extreme and ruins the fun because overtaking results in crashing very often. It is almost impossible to concentrate behind the other car. We both use a wheel.

Did you experience this kind of "lag"? We changed the host, but there is no difference. The shaking is also present in replays. Also the tire sound of the other car is a really strange squeaking. This can't be normal and is absurd. I just wanted to know, if this is a known issue. Thank you very much.

Yep, lag and latency are ridiculous in GT7, even GT5 had less (if you could see the other players that is)

I have the same. Also strong internet and all of us use wheels. I guess PD servers suck and the netcode sucks. Havent played the game for a while now because it is so flawed. Most of the guys have moved back to gtsport.

Start a lobby with friends. Let them join. Then everybody quits the lobby a you start a new one. Then everybody joins again. The lags should be gone (mostly).

There's literally no reason why this should work. I think you just got lucky.

Define "really good internet connections"; if you're talking in terms of bandwidth, anything over about 4Mbps is irrelevant - more bandwidth is not more better except in terms of what everyone else in your house is using it for while you're gaming.

Haha yeah, the point of console gaming is to make it accesible. I can play ALL other games just fine on my ps4.

Maybe pd and sony sort their servers out before they make me reconfigure my ip lol.

OH, and i have done just that and it did not make it better.

Oh so they wont "shut their servers down" and make gtsport obsolete? Like with gt6?
That'll be content and matchmaking servers, nothing to do with racing. Well, other than FIA events, which do use fixed servers.
Its purely p2p then yeah? Interesting
Yes. When you race in lobbies your console acts as both server (sending information directly to other consoles in the lobby) and client (receiving information directly from other consoles in the lobby).

Thanks for your help. We both have wired connections with possible pings <10 if the server is good enough. For example 7ms for pinging google.com.
I play a lot of pc games with really low pings, So it is just ridiculous. This is a racing game and the multiplayer feels like 1998. I am loving this game, but I can not understand this.

@areX29 Thanks, we will try that later.

I’m so glad you started this thread. I just started playing online and a few races had one or two guys jerking all over the place. I thought they were being aggressively weird with me! It’s good to know that’s it’s more likely a connectivity issue.

Although I guess that doesn’t mean that they weren’t messing with me. . .
