Why do people take loads of shots of the same car? They all end up looking the same and really discourages me from looking though someone's gallery, I'm not a fan of sifting through page after page of the same thing.

Why not take one or two great shots and move on? You get more impact than just having 20 odd pics of the same thing.

Pretty sure i'll get loads of negative comments about my post but...

What do others think?

It's to explore angles. I agree with you, I take a picture of front back and sides of car and next .. but some other people like to see which is the best angle to the front (for example)

Regardless of the angle hunting, they all end up looking the same. I hunt for the angle too, but i always post the best shot from my current photo session, that way i don't end up cramming 30 photos of the same thing.

Opinions differ i know, but still, i always leave someones gallery when i start to see multiple shots, After all you never see a photographers portfolio/gallery with loads of the same shots.

I'll never see the benefit to it.

I guess in your gallery , you decide which front angle is the best but the others just post it all and let the viewers decide.

I can't speak for anyone else, but sometimes I like to do a "photo shoot" of one of my cars, inspired by what you might see in a car magazine or something like that.

Also, the majority of my pics are action shots of drifting, so sometimes I like to take a sequence of shots, attempting to tell a bit of a "story".

That's because people here are taking the photos in the sense of a "photo shoot" & you rarely see a photo shoot with just 2-3 quick shots unless they are being used to promote said shoot or something else.

As for what you see, that's debate-able. I've seen multiple photographers use their best shots to advertise themselves whilst still showcasing an entire set of a subject from multiple angles/locations/etc. from a click away.
Model photographers spring to mind real fast with large galleries of their subject.

I don't mind seeing a whole set of photos of the same car, cause I like to see the different angles and composition used in each photo.

On the other hand, what really annoys me is seeing the same exact photo in multiple threads. I understand that the picture fits the theme of all the threads, but is it really necessary to post in all of them?

I generally post between 4-10 photos per set, because I don't want to leave out any photos that I like, because what might be someone else's favourite, may not be mine, and then they'd miss out.. For example, as much as I love your Corvette shot this week, I'd love to see some more of what you did there :)

I'm probably one of those who does this in the largest extent, it really isn't unusual that I take 35-70 shots on one car, one one track. Since I very rarely set up many various shoots, it's mostly revolving around 1-2 cars at mostly one location. Then, I don't post all of the pics I take, but still...

I feel like you still could keep a set interesting, even if it only features one car.

I must admit multiple shots of one car does bug me - but then I can fully understand why people do it.

My Gallery I try to keep as interesting for the viewer as I can. :)
