WTF-MuRRe
So, after countless posts I finally ordered a DFGT.
Thanks to all the peeps here who put up with all my questions.
Thanks to Logitech and UPS for super fast delivery.
The only bad thing is that UPS didn't contact me, luckily my work allowed me to be home at the time.

After driving for a few hours there is only one thing that I find bad.
It's the oscillation when going straight.
Not a huge problem but it is annoying.
Basically if you can live with this the DFGT is a great starter wheel.

Fanatec is selling the Carrera 911+Rennsport for 236 including VAT+Shipping.
Probably would have bought this if I didn't have the DFGT.

Does anyone know what policy Logitech have on returns, do they pay for shipping?

I think you should stay with the Driving Force. If you refund it (-€) and you purchase the Carrera , I am sure you will regret for not having saved your money for the "incoming" attractive Fanatec products. Also take into account the standard pedals are [...] And the Driving Force is a great wheel for its price. Contact support for that issue.

That is just my opinion.

Yeah that's why I returned mine. Luckily my friend insisted I test the wheel for a few days and after I saw that issue it was a deal breaker.

But try this- go into another game besides GT5 and see what happens. I have read it's possibly a GT5 issue. See if you can download the free demo for GTR EVolution from Steam or something. See what happens when you let go of the wheel on a smooth road. I don't recall PC simmers complain about it which is why I am suspicious

Haha, "The Undecisive". Well a lot of us are like that! I went from wanting the DFGT -> G25/G27 -> Fanatec GT2 -> T500rs.

But hey I still think you choose a great wheel. I think I would've ended up buying a brand new if I didnt happen to get a chance to demo the T500rs

Its a GT5 issue and happens with all Logitech wheels on GT5 and Prologue... dont know about the fanatecs... but it is very slightly and if you grip the wheel with a few fingers you wont notice it. Doesnt happen with other games though.

Since the Fanatec wheels emulates a G25 wheel it's the same. You can add dead zone to the Fanatec wheel but this is "input" dead zone not just "center spring ffb" dead zone which I really don't like. This is clearly GT5 as it linked with the G-force gauge.

Yep I agree with this post. Especially on the point about the standard pedals. They seem to have a super high failure rate. Now if you pony'ed up for the CSPs it would be a different story 👍

Or wait for the release of CSR pedals which will be the cheaper version of CSP. It's rumored it may be around $100.

Got two questions.
1. DFGT pedals vs Fanatec standard?
Huge difference?

2. DFGT + WSP vs Carrera 911 + Rennsport?

If I order from Fanatec the total price will come down to 230 euros.
DFGT + WSP = around 240-250 euros.

The rennsport is quite ok for a wheel like T500RS?
Also, it HAS to support the new wheels that Fanatec is about to release, right?

That wouldnt be very smart, they are just redesigned overprived standard plastic fanatec pedals... the new CSP showned on the E3 are the CSP elite pedals not the standard ones.

Build your own stand. That is too much money...

Not sure if I understand. The CSR elite pedals will cost less than the current Clubsports. There will be another cheaper CSR "standard" pedals.

There were two new pedals CSR are a cheaper version of CSP. CSR still has a load cell brakes but CSP gas and clutch sensors are replaced with pots. CSR has some plastic where CSP is metal.
The new CSP pedal is the one where you can reverse the clutch and brake pedal.

You are talking about CSR Elite pedals. Fanatec still hasn't shown CSR pedals.

CSR pedals shown at 2:26 = cheaper CSP version
Elite pedals shown at 3:09 in video

Nope Thomas has said in his site that the standard pedal werent showned those pedals are the same only the second set is reversed mounted
... sometimes the guys on ISR arent all that smart....

Here is where I got the information about Fanatec only showed the CSE Elite Pedals...

(Sorry The info comes from fm.net)

Thomas replied to one of the people over there with this...

Then fanatecwheel.com confirms this...

http://www.fanatecwheel.com/news/about-clubsport-wheel-compatibility-and-more

As for the Elite coming with the Club Sport pedals... The E3 setup has been referenced a few times as what you will get for 700.00. IIRC the rig had the Elite wheel, the Elite pedals and the CSR Shifter. I hope the 700.00 price is for all three. That would put the CSR Elite pedals around 140.00 - 150.00. IMO any thing closer is too close for comfort to the CSP's price. The only problem I see, is no word from Fanatec saying that the shifter is included in the 700.00 price tag.

From fanatecwheel.com site -
The pricetag of 320$ that was floating around as the entry price for CSR line of wheels will get you a CSR wheel and CSR pedals. The trick is that what we though were CSR pedals, are actually CSR elite pedals. Regular CSR pedals were not revealed yet, so we will have to wait and see what they look like.

I guess what throw ISR guys off was they were two different colors like GT3 and GT2 wheels so they must have thought they were different sets. I thought the same thing when I saw the different colors.

So, sent Logitech an email.
They will take it back AND pay for shipping, KUDOS to Logitech.
Gonna order the 911 Carrera + Rennsport for 220 euros, pretty good deal?
Should I get the RennSport Wheel Stand Shifter Adapter?
I mean, the 911 is a nicer wheel?
Seems to be a nice deal.
Will miss the dial though. It's awesome to be able to change mid-race, especially when you are different people playing endurance.

Nicer? Maybe, though it is no as reliable ... and its not fully supported in GT5 ... and also suffers from the straight line swaying but its your call... let us know if the Fanatec works flawless from the box and I much time did it take for you to get your wheel...

Don't know about Carrera wheel, but with GT3RS V2 you can map the buttons to your liking, so you can still change the tuning settings during the race

It's just... I don't know.
I get it for the same price as a DFGT + WSP.
Even though the Carrera might not be worth 60 euros more with this deal it brings them even if you need a stand.
Wrong call?

And so it starts again.

Edit to add something constructive.

Is the 911 wheel gear or belt driven?
I've read your oscillation concerns.
My G27 oscillates in GT5 too.
More of an issue with GT5 IMHO as other games get around it no problem.

The reason I ask if the 911 is gear driven is that I would presume to problem to still be present.

Not sure how belt driven wheels act with GT5 as I haven't tried it out.

I cant really say if its a wrong call or not because I dont own a Fanatec... but from what I read on the forums, Fanatec takes a long time to deliver the products... and when they arrive... there is a high rate of failure on out of the box wheels and pedals... thats why Im asking you to report, because Im interested in the new Fanatec Forza 4 wheel and I would like to know if they have improved their delivery times, QC and customer support.

And so it starts again.

Here it goes.
It was SO amazingly fun to play GT5 with the DFGT.
So now you are asking, WHY return it.
Well, I want more.
I know I'm gonna play alot, and those 110 euros should be going towards either a T500 OR one of the new fanatec wheels that is coming out.

It says less than 5 days delivery on that one.

Well, it is gear driven (same as DFGT) but atleast you can add a deadzone ON the wheel.
Gonna see if I can make a nice deal with a friend of mine.
I'll take the stand and he will take the wheel.

I understand where your going.

My wheel history.

MS wheel.
DFGT.
G27
GT2/CSP.

Now if I didn't lay out money on the top 3 and just went with my last choice I would be better off.

Unfortunately I would have to bend the space time continuum as well.

If you like to play GT5 with the DFGT why are you going for another not fully supported same price range wheel? it wont improve the experience... at least with GT5, if you want to improve the experience with GT5 youll have to buy the T500RS...
Logitech refunds you (ever wonder why) and Fanatec???

Everyone as already told you that the downside of the DFGT are the pedals... the swaying will be present in the Fanatec also...

If you do decide to buy the Fanatec, please report...

Yeah, I will have to go with the T500rs.
The DFGT was a good thing though, I know racing should def. be done with a wheel.

MuRRe.
I'm going to use a naughty word.

Do you think in the future you will ever play Forza.

( I'm asking a guy who can't make up his mind which shoe lace to tie ).

Lol.

Dont make this harder than it already is

He should stick with the DFGT or wait for the new Fanatec and its reviews... (maybe not him but thats what I will do)

That's ANOTHER problem.
But I still think I'm gonna return the DFGT and maybe order a T500.
I hope it won't be crushed by Fanatec at the same price point this winter though.
