Looks pretty legit, but that's a big claim. Do you have any pictures of a dyno run or something? Do include your GTP udername hand written.

What's the problem?

EDIT:

Oh snap. Just figured it out. Wow lol

This is my 92' Talon. I have had many DSMs over the years. Started out with a beautiful 92' Talon that got me hooked. After that I started building them up for the track. I've built 12 sec,11 sec,10 sec, and now I'm aiming for 8 sec passes.
I bought the car from Sean Ivey of Iveytune. The car was campiegned by him in 2003-2005 and was featured in DSport and Turbo magazine. It's ran many low 9 sec passes. 9.41 @ 151mph being the fastest time. However I bought the car as a roller. It came with coil-overs, 10 pt. cage, Haltech E11v2, J&S Safegaurd, and some other various parts. Other than that I built the motor,I put it all together. The car ran with a conventional Mitsubishi synchro box. I've installed a 4 speed Shep Trans Dogbox w/PPG gearset and welded differential. There is no stone left unturned on this build. I've addressed every weak link in the car. I built my 10.66 @ 137mph 93' Talon with under $20,000......this one has over $60,000 invested in it total. So that should give you an idea of the kind of work I've put into this car.
I'll post up a parts list.

Holy crap you guys have a lot of demands....lol
The car needs a re-tune. I just put new injectors in it. It made 850whp on the old setup. This setup will make waaaaay more power. Pretty much everyone in the DSM community knows about my car.

I've got a set of SSR Competitions on slicks. They don't hold air for long so I don't leave them on the car. Though I have pictures of them on the car. Will that please everyone.
I understand people lie but I'm not one of them. I'm known by too many people online to lie about the car. Everyone already knows about it. I've been working on it since 2005. So.....

Sounds cool. I'd like to see some dyno sheets though, just to see where it makes power.

Don't worry. I'll post the dyno sheet. I'm doing a couple little things on it right now and as soon as I'm done it'll be going to my buddy's AWD dyno.
I can tell you now that between the cams and turbo it spools up around 6,000rpm's and shifts come at around 9,800-10,000rpm's. Two step is set to 7K rpm's. It's a big turbo, big cam,big injector car. It was not built for the street or for a road coarse. Its laggy,it's loud, and it's tempermental......but it's a **** load of fun otherwise!

That comment put a rather large smile on my face. Looking forward to seeing the Dyno's, better yet, video's of your 8 sec pass! :D

With all that power he shouldnt be far from shepards record thats if the car can hook what is the tranny specs?

So, those poor tires are supposed to hold the road? Pfft..

My Hyundai gets wheelspin, & you think you can harness 1,000 WHP..?

I'd like to read more. I love Mitsubishi cars.

I also remember reading about this car before, and I most likely did it here. Absolutely, absurdly, all-out stupid. I love it. I second the 8-sec pass video.

Thanks, guys. I'll be honest this thing should have already been to the dyno with the new setup. But things didnt go as planned this summer. I'm a type 1 diabetic and have been for nearly 30 years. Got it when I was just a little kid. I've started getting some of the adverse reactions that uncontrolled diabetes can cause. I've been in and out of the hospital for the last few years, but I've really been sick for the last 12 months. Thank God I've been feeling better. So thats why I've been trying to really bust my hump to get the car finished while I'm feeling up to it. Worst comes to worse I can still get the car on the track in the winter months if need be. Atco Raceway park stays open during the colder months. I believe they only close for the 3 major holidays. Thanksgiving,Christmas, and New Years. Other than that I believe they stay open year round. Which is a good thing since it's already getting a little nippy out here in upstate New York.
So,anyway. I'm rounding the bend on the final turn of the build. It was 100% ready to go months ago. But when I decided to switch around a few things I discovered some faulty wiring and decided to replace it before it came back to bite me in the a s s. So....I figured it took me over 5 years to complete the car. Whats a few more weeks? Plus it'll give me a little time to strip all the old stickers off. Only ones that stay are AGP,AMS,and Haltech. Not the yellow windshield one but the light colored ones on the side. A few companies offered me parts discounts if I were to throw some of their stickers on the car so I'm going to take everything off and see where I am going to lay them out. I'm not a big sticker fan. I don't mind some vinyl logos that give the car a theme and take up a majority of the body. But thats only when you have major sponsorship which I do not have at this point.

Thanks for the comparison between myself and Shep. But he just went 9.0 flat on his new setup on only 25psi. To give you an idea of how fast that is he ran 7.70@195mph and that was when he was making somewhere around 1,400hp and running over 60psi. So when he gets the car dialed in I'm sure we'll see some low 7 sec passes if not 6 sec passes eventually. He's just got to figure out how to keep the car straight the entire way down the track. Just recently at an event he broke tire and got sideways at atleast half-track. Thats pretty insane being the car is AWD and it has a 4 link setup with a solid axle rear diff.

I run the same gearbox that Shep runs. His Dogbox. It's a 4 speed PPG gearset,EVO 8 input shaft, and welded diff. Suppose to be able to handle 1,500 ft. lbs. of tq. and can shift smoothly at over 14,000 RPM's. It has no synchros so shifts have to be firm and direct. Shep has developed a sequential style shifter out of an IKYEA kart. So it's just up and down. No H-pat. Actually the fella that has the red and black 2G that makes over 1,000whp has a similar setup in his car. You can see what I'm talking about on Youtube. Both Shep and the other gentleman both have in-car videos up.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG this is nice. I love DSMs. There was one that did a 9 second pass at an event I was at, it was insane. Tuned by Boostin Performance, might have heard of them. Anyway, I like that you didn't build a Honda as a drag car, like everyone else does.. I'm also a huge Mitsubishi guy so yeah. Love the car.

thank you, anna+reece. yes,i've heard of them. i believe boostin has a few fast DSM's. If im not mistaken they have a 1G that runs 8's.

Yeah, that thing makes good power. I believe it's an auto car. I'm not really a big advocate for the auto trans. in these cars. But they seem to run consistant numbers. Sometimes I wonder if I should have gone with an auto in mine. I've got $6,000 invested in the dogbox. I'm sure I could have put a fully built A/T in the car for less or atleast no more than what I have in the dogbox.

I know 600hp is a far cry from 1,000 but my 93' Talon that ran consistant mid 10's pulled off a 1.4 60 ft time on street radials. Not drag radials but just some meaty Goodyear Eagle all season 225-55R16's. Also ran some 11.0's on them. But the 10.60's were ran on Nitto NT-555R drag radials. The car had a welded diff so this is why the car bit down on the pavement so hard. By feathering the pedal just right I was able to launch that car hard with minimal wheelspin. Exact numbers are listed on DSMTimes.org My name is Vinnie Russo if you want to look me up. I use to be the 40th fastest 1G AWD DSM in the U.S. I'm probably not even in the top 100 anymore. There are a lot of fast DSM's out there now.
