Kinda short for a Write-Up but I'd rather share with the guys who hang out here! 👍
I'm past 99% thru the "Game" & finally got over 7,000 B-Spec points (NO I haven't used him much!) & guess what? He's FINALLY figured out how to drive. I fitted the AMUSE S2000 GT1 '04 that I used to A-Spec El Capitan with a S2/S1 tyre combo & ran a couple of warm up laps both in A-Spec & B-Spec. Then I entered the Motegi 8 Hours Endurance. As it turns out it's a bit too much car but I'll go back and drive it with a "Lesser" ride myself I'm sure.
I've got him set on "3" and fully expected to see numerous excursions into the "Sand Traps" but NO WAY! He's "Smooth as Silk!" Looked in about Lap #17 & the Rears were Way REDDER than I'd be drivin' on & this guy is "STYLIN'!!!" He's absolutely "Pitching It" into the Hairpin, drfting the whole thing & then gathering it up! 👍 Contrary to my earlier observations this ride is running exactly the same tune set-up I ran at El Capitan!
He's just past 1.5 Hours in, leading by from 3-6 Laps (Yeh, I know...He took GUN to a KNIFE Fight! :irked: ) I'll edit in the Final Results in a couple of hours...O.G. :D

EDIT: Just as I figured it was a "Blow Out" of Major proportions. (I like even my B-Spec Races to be close! :irked: ) 226 Laps in just over 8 Hours / MOV from +13 to +26 Laps...obviously WAY TOO MUCH HP! Something around 350-400 HP would probably be more Fun! 👍 ...O.G. :D

Are you forcing him not to pit, or...?
e.
No not at all. I've got it running at 3X speed while I'm doing other things. I just happened to check in the first time during Lap #17 & noticed how RED the Rear Tyres were! Then when he did NOT pit in I clicked it back to "Normal" so I could see how he was doing. He finally came in at the end of Lap #18.
Since he's so far ahead I changed the setting to "2" & while he's just a little slower per lap he's only pitting every 19-20 Laps. I'll try to catch him again on worn tyres to see how he's doing. 👍 ...O.G. :D

EDIT: The "Good News" is he continued to improve his driving. The "Bad News" is that even set on "5" on RED Tyres he never took the Hairpin in as "Spectacular" a manner as he did on Lap #18. Guess I should have saved it! ...O.G. :D

Thanks for the in-progress write up.

My b-spec driver, whom I decided today to call 'Hans', though far less experienced than your driver, has already demonstrated a similar and amazing ability to drive on extremely worn tires. If I stay out on a set of tires as long as he does, my last lap before pitting is at 'granny-with-the-left-turn-indicator-on' :nervous: pace!

👍 The fact that he's going hard and drifting is awesome. My B-spec guy is a hell of a lot better on red tyres than I could ever be.

My b-spec driver must need more practice. He comes in when the tires just hint at getting red, which is why I asked about the pit strategy. I sense more practice coming his way. :)

I too like the in-race commentary 👍

I hate blow-outs in b-spec but it's fun to watch them improve. Funny how some will hang it out there, some won't, sometimes yours will and sometimes not...

Aside from trying to pick the right race/car combo's so you can/have to work him hard, there is a lot more to this whole b-spec thing than most think. I'm currently still working mine in a fresh game on the Chinese method of using only four cars to get him to 10,000 100/100/100.

Thanks for sharing OG!!!

Chinese method? Now you've really got me thinkin'! I can't check ATM 'cause I'm 13+ Hours into LeSarthe II, but I think the second part of my B-Spec stats are much closer to 100/100/100 than my first part is to 10,000. Is that perhaps why he's suddenly driving better? He's presently doing a GREAT Job in the Bentley Speed 8...5 Laps ahead after 231 & nary a "Wheel Put Wrong!" ...O.G. :D

That has been my experience...

It is darn hard to get him maxed out... 👍

My last one liked the Bentley as well... never once screwed up in that car although I suspect it had more to do with his experience level at the point I put him in it than the car itself. Watch something for me and see if you have the same experience. It seemed like whenever I put "Rolf" in a German car, he cruised far better than in when driving anything else.

You running him on your own setups?

Not this time. I only did three things: #1 / Oil Change... #2 / Changed Tyres to R-2 Front & R-1 Rear...#3 / Added the biggest Turbo (Looks like the smaller one would have been fine. :irked: ) I didn't adjust ANYTHING else...NOT even Downforce!

I'm REALLY Confused now! (Like that's "News" ) The FORD GT Concept '02, OPEL Astra, Chaparral 2D Race Car '67 & the BENTLEY Speed 8 ALL worked well "Untouched" Indeed the TOYOTA GT-One seemed to do better after I returned it to VERY near stock settings. A "Road" Subie and the AMUSE S2000 GT-1 worked flawlessly with "MY" settings! I literally see NO Rhyme or Reason to what works & what doesn't! ...O.G :D

My B-Spec is 5 or more seconds slower than me at race pace (like 3-4 setting) but one thing I can't do that he can is drive and F1 or LMP car on red rear tires, I'll bee fighting with massive opposite lock and he just seems to be glued to the track the whole time.

My B-Spec Bob only has 3750 points, he can't overtake for love nor money. :banghead: Just set him off on The Suzuka 1000km Endurance race, but had to put him in a Nissan R89C. He's 7 laps in and about 40 seconds ahead already!! :sly: Will he make pitstops by himself?

My B-Spec "Bob" has these stats:

Machine skill 99

Track Skill 97

Battle Skill 90

...:D

My B-Spec "Bob" is invincible
He can do a 350-pt. A-Spec race in B-Spec

ROCK ON BOB!!! :dopey:

Yep Madd Dog he'll make 'em. Maybe NOT exactly on the Lap YOU would have, but he will NOT run out of Gas & he'll drive on RED Tyres much better than you or I can! 👍 ...O.G. :D

barely used my b-spec guy/gal... glad to see they CAN actually race well tho. my own experiences in short races is thay dont do too well.

Mine will not pass...Ever. Even on an open stretch with a good power advantage, he won't even attempt to pass.

Try B spec Bob with one of the Cobras on the Nurburgring. Unbelieveable... Sideways, backing it into the haripins, 3rd gear all wheel drifting and only the very rare trip to the boonies when the tyres wear out.

Hmmm...I'd have to disagree about the worn tire driving...with his B-Spec Bob at less than 4000 points, let alone 7000 points, there is no way he'll be able to drive decently with reds. This just gave me an idea. Have you noticed how Bob always seems to pit at the right time? It would have been interesting to see what would happen if his pit strategy awareness were affected by a formula based off his Machine and Course Skill. Because it seems as if he always pits at the same time at 2000 or 8000 points if the car is exactly the same.

Actually, my B-spec driver is amazin now, he's won several endurance races for me and he has "learned" how to drive. At the moment he is competing in the 1000 miles championship, in fairness he's in a Shelby Cobra :sly: but when his tires start to go red, you should see him slide this baby around The Nurburgring. He hasn't binned it into the scenery once, and he only has 4500 B-spec points. 👍 Long live B-spec Bob

I am confused here. Do B-spec points work similar to A-spec points? I mean if my b-spec guy drives the F-1 car in the beginner races will he improve slower than lets say a comparable car to the rest of the field in the extreme events? My guy is 65/56/57 now and progresses very slowly. Although I really only use him in endo races with a far superior car, is this my problem?

Thanks for any help on this

This is what I use him for too, he has done several endurance races for me, but I have to put him in a car with an advantage for him to stand a decent chance of winning. I think, from my experience anyway, that he'll learn at the same rate no matter what car you put him in. Even with 4500+ points, he still makes silly mistakes like driving into the back of cars he's lapping instead of driving around them. :ouch: I still have to keep a close eye on him. Mine seems to have hit a point now where his progress is also very slow and his points aren't increasing much, for example- He has just finished winning the 1000 miles championship for me today and I'm lucky if its added 150/200 points onto his total. :grumpy:
