My concept for Career Mode

Tenacious! I was wondering where you were while the firestorm over GTHD raged over the last 4-5 days . . . you've been busy cooking up more ideas!

OPTIONS, OVERALL AND IN MODE

Music tracks from previous versions of Gran Turismo, including tracks from all regions, as well as new playlists. Ability to add music from your own library or computer, or downloaded from the internet in any audio format.
Excellent idea for GT5!

Real time passage of time. Weather based on real world models (no rainouts or severe weather). Ability to override race conditions and time of day, or set master parameters.
Another excellent idea, especially for Career Mode and Endurance Races. However I wouldn't like the idea of being able to override the weather on raceday during Career Mode . . . that would feel too much like cheat'n for my taste.

Damage, with at least a scale of None, Light, Moderate, and Simulation.
Without question!

Adjustable driver camera with follow view, roof view, interior view, and nose/bumper view. Parameters for camera placement and amount of sway and drift. Optional mirror.
Again, another excellent idea, being able to control the amount of sway of your left and right mirrors. As it stands in GT4 and ToCA3 right now, the sway rate is much too severe . . . sometimes, depending on the car I'm driving and the circuit, I just about loose it looking to the left and right.

A.I. racers based on real world drivers, with individual traits and tactics, which also improve through the season with you in Season or Career Mode. A.I. adjusts to your driving tendencies. Difficulty selection determines driver skill and aggression level, as well as prize amount and quality of car prize in GT Mode. Progressive A.I. levels through Arcade (basic), GT Mode (moderate) to Season and Career Modes (most realistic and difficult).
Now here's the tricky part. People have complained and complained about the A.I. or the lack thereof. And for themost part I'd agree that the A.I. does need improving, or, at the very least should be able to recognize the player and not slam into him when braking for turn 11 at Infineon, for example. But the question should be, 'How real do they want it?' If we have A.I. drivers based on the personalities of say, Michael Schumacher, Mario Andretti, Jeff Gordon, or the late Ayrton Senna--good luck winning a race! In ToCA 3, I've seen lap 1, turn 1 pile-ups that make me feel like I'm a real Formula 1 race . . . only it's not fun and it get's old fast! Make no mistake, as good as Michael Schumacher is, remember he almost killed his brother at Monaco on the last lap of the race trying to salvage a few points! He also plowed into Mark Webber last year at Istanbul last year. How many NASCAR fans were upset when Jeff Gordon gave Matt Kenseth the boot at Chicago earlier this year? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for improvements in the A.I., but we gotta be careful in what we wish for because some of the worse reallife drivers can take you out as easily as some of the best.

Season and Career Mode based on real racing leagues and classes, from enthusiast leagues like America's SCCA to Touring Car, GT/GTS, Rally, LeMans, Formula 1, etc, with full racing rules and restrictions.
Race Rules which are based on real race courses and leagues, with the option to disable them in Gran Turismo Mode. Optional limits on rules in Season and Career Modes.Love this, but I'd also like to see real racing series race on circuits that they don't normally race on. In ToCA 3, not only do you have the V8 Supercars racing at Bathurst and Sandown, but you'll also have them racing at Spa Francorchamps and Silverstone--I'd love to have a JGTC race at Spa, or an SCCA race at Suzuka!

The opportunity to create your own racing team, complete with your own racing graphics for cars, uniforms and helmets.

Race Generator returning from GT2 for Arcade and Gran Turismo Mode, but with even more comprehensive features and definitions, as well as rules options.

Photo Mode available in all modes during replays, as well as its own, with a greatly increased selection of settings and special effects like blurring and placeable colored lights, flare/spark generators and lasers.

CARS AND TRACKS

More cars than ever. All the cars from the previous editions, with new cars from world auto makers.Yeah, everyone's going GAH-GAH over Ferrari, Me I wouldn't wanna be caught dead in a Ferrari! Looking at some of the GT HD pics, I'd like to see updated JGTC or Super GT cars!

Tracks from previous versions of Gran Turismo, as well as new race courses, both real and fantasy. Road courses, city courses, point to point, down/uphill mountain courses, with rally versions..Can't go Wrong with more circuits!

Used car dealerships, with car lists which change in a random fashion to reflect realistic availability, as well as classifieds. Unique and special cars appear for sale periodically. Cars bought and sold reflect accurate real world values. Used cars can be refurbished to factory specs.👍

Car components licensed from real automotive companies, modelled to incredible detail, from tires and suspensions, brakes and drivetrains, turbos and exhausts. Even oils and fluids! Engine swaps.👍

Body kits, licensed from real kit makers, which enhance performance as well as looks.
A paint shop with every feature you could want in a livery creator, equipping you with all the tools to create a custom paint job to be admired. The ability to paint any surface of the car, including wheels, rims and windows. Provided decals for all the performance mod makers. Text fonts, flags and decal editor.
A full racing conversion utility. With enough money, turn any car into a high performance race car, provided the basic car meets the requirements of the league you want to enter it in.I've read somewhere that it takes 6 months for PD to create a car; considering full interiors, engines, wheels, damage modelling, etc. . . How difficult would it be for us players to paint any surface of the car and include decals, different fonts, etc. . . And still have the car look Photomode realistic? I keep thinking about EA's NASCAR games where you can do all sorts of painting, decalling, numbers, fonts, but the cars look like realistic manga artwork--nowhere near GT quality! Would this inclusion sacrifice the lifelike look of GT cars?

SEASON AND CAREER MODE

Career Mode begins in an enthusiast semi-pro league modelled on the Sports Car Club of America, while Season Mode provides a league of your choice.
A range of racing teams to choose from at the start, giving you certain opportunities and bonuses, as well as penalties. A bot driver may be hired from a list of recruits, each with their own driving skills and traits, and trained to drive in the team.👍

Full season and track rules laid out before you race. Realistic penalties for violations. Optional rules selections. Option to disable damage and maintenance.👍

Race for points, cash prizes, as well as for sponsorships. Optional simulated qualifying.👍

Full stat tracking for all drivers, as well as a comprehensive, easy to understand telemetry system to help you fine tune your car, as well as your racing techniques. Post race maintenance.👍 Yeah, I'd like to know which car I used to win which race. I don't think it's asking too much.

A virtual crew chief which will suggest car setups before each race, as well as advice on changes and driving techniques. How difficult would it be for something like this to be implemented? Each player has a different driving style that changes from track to track--the parameters of which could stretch into the billions. I mean, it could take a blu-ray disk or two just to handle the different variables, let alone adding a decent driving game on top of it. I think it'd be up to the player and the player alone to determine this, unfortunatley, through driving the circuit and experimenting with different set-ups. It stinks, but I think it'd be the only way to get it done.

Rivalries develop between you and certain drivers, which inspire them to drive more competitively against you.Or give ya tha' boot.

He who finishes with the most points wins! With additional rewards at season's end for good driving and sportsmanship, fan appreciation, as well as pit crew performance. Sponsor bonus for good performance.

Opportunities after the completion of a season or two to start your own team from scratch, hiring your own crew, as well as a driver to team with.👍
