??

Who's idea was that? What was the camber btw? I'm just under 2 degrees on my 330i.

Around 3-4 degrees. It'll have slightly more wear and combined with a leaky sidewall, spells trouble.

The tires were 3 years old.

I've had a mate who blow a bicycle tyre and spent 3 days in a coma

That has probably been quite a crash :ill: I hope he turned out well.

4 years ago my bicycle's front fork disintegrated on the go and I faceplanted onto the asphalt. Spent 5 days in the hospital with a cocussion but no broken bones happily. I still have the marks on my face :)

ive had the same thing happen at maybe 80-85mph in a 525. i knew what it was and the proper thing to do being not making sudden moves soi didnt lose control

No, it was the Right Rear tire that completely blew out. The car would be running on rims if we didn't put the doughnut on.

 I know. Aren't you supposed to put the donut on the front and move one of the good wheels to the back?

The scariest tyre related experience I've had was the horrors of Kwik-Fit attempting to find the correct run-flat tyre...

Glad to hear you and your family are all OK. Nothing worse than a blowout at 75mph...

It's a little messy since the front wheels aren't the right size for the back either. On mine they can't be swapped side-to-side either because of the tread. So none of my wheels are appropriate for any of the other positions.

(The full size spare is sized for the front though)
