Any comments are welcome, suggestiongs are even more...by the way, the shop's home site is:
www.cworld.com.au/

That's the only shop I'd be prepared to buy from though.

Looks better than your other (more expensive) list. However, I'd get Norton Internet Security 2003 so that way you get a firewall, antivirus and some other stuff.

Dude, get a hardware firewall. They work much better, and don't pop up with annoying messsages. Ever.
But, if this is your dream computer, you could at least have top-of-the-line stuff on there. If it's your dream, why settle for second best?

Well, I tried to keep it under 5,000 because I might be getting it all before the end of the year as a combined birthday+Christmas present...so it has to be semi-achievable. :P

My next computer (NOT my dream computer :P)

Ultra Extreme Memory 512MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz
Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz / 512K Cache processor
Maxtor 80GB Hard Drive.
XFX GeForce FX 5600
Soyo - P4I865PE MOTHERBOARD

:D :D :D

I have not decided my sound card yet. And all the other small things.

Alien Ware Case

AMD Athlon XP 3200+

Ati Radeon 9700 Pro

19 inch flat or 28 inch flat monitor

MSi Motherboard and Dragon writer CD burner 48X16X48 (I have the burner tho :)

and a whole bunch of stuff

Jesus. What the point of 3 100 GB hard drives? You would only take up like 20 gigs if the most?
if you have KaZaA and you have loads and loads of games and you are continuasly are downloading things from the internet you get suprised how many 100's of gigabytes you use up......i certainly do and my computer works it pants off....i recently have developed a problem called "ALERT! REGULATOR FAILURE" which is a hardware problem but no pc stores i have questioned know what it is.........Dell makes my pc.....i might email them

3 100 HDS are for videos, games, & stored files, maybe its a little overboard but i like being secure with TONS of space... :)
and the vp990 kicks all of the vid cards asses out right now, for a HEFTY price
with 300gigs, over all i can have multiple OS's
xp
windows 2000 (no M.E.)
win '98

$389 PC4200 DDR 1GB [RAM]
$412 RADEON 9800 Pro 256MB [Video Card]
$111 Serial ATA 120GB [Hard Drive]
$ 41 EIDE 54x32x54 [CD Recorder]
$238 Athlon XP 3000 [Processor]
$ 18 IDE 56X [CD Drive]

What the hell is a good sound card? I'd also need a motherboard and a case.

Good luck playing computer games with that 3DLabs VP990. It's designed for 3D rendering...

You won't need 300 gigs for 3 operating systems. I quadruple booted a computer with DOS, 98, 2000, XP and had 95 and NT4 in Virtual PC on a 40 gig drive.

then i guess ill settle for a fx5900 card

and i kno it doesnt take 300 to fit all those, i just want that much.

Well why don't you install/get installed a 80 gig hdd, to up your hdd capacities to 120 GB?

Keep in mind the prices are in AU dollar, not American. km, why do you need two 80GB Maxtor drives? Why not just get the 160GB...

Maybe he wants one harddrive to install games on and one to install other stuff on. Or, maybe he wants to dual-boot his system have one OS on each harddrive.

I wouldn't mind a second 5GB or so HDD, do then set the Windows Page File to my second harddrive which increases performance.

Omg some one who thinks like me i got two hard drives one for xp and other programs and the other on for games. My first drive is partisioned so i have c is only 20gb and that has windows and all the dirvers for the rig on them and the d drive has programs like winzip and so on. Then my e drive is a true 80 gb drive for my games plus if it ever happens i can use the other hard drive if it ever happens to fail.

FINALLY some1 who isnt a moron and asks WHY?.
100 gigs can get used up really fast when u have a lot of movies, ever use DC? some places require that u share at least 50gigs of stuff, and who knows maybe i might wana start a hub someday. Besides its my money, installing multiple OS's is my business, maybe i wana play old games without the hassle of looking up drivers and ****.
i swear a lot of people in forums think there the **** & know everything, like the rc forums my bro goes to, im suprised hes not talking **** to everybody...
they tell him that the chassis he makes will break... [DUMBASS], hes been building chassis since he was 10 you think we wouldnt know that it would break? & he beats the crap outta that gas truck... hasnt broken yet it shut up all the know-it-alls

I have a 120gb hard drive, a 40gb hard drive, and a 10gb hard drive. The 40 is full, the 10 is full, and the 120 is filling up. I don't have porn on my computer. All my space is programs and pictures of cars, and photoshop'd stuff. (the porn will be in at a later time :P  )

Also I have almost reached the computer I really want. amd xp 2600, 19" flat panel, 170gb's total, 512mb 3200 ram, and I want a better one, but i'm stuck with a GeForce FX 5200.
