Interesting choice. I'd have wanted a stick shift car myself - but you're the one buying it, I'm not. Whatever makes you happy is good.

I'm not a huge fan of the new Mustang but if I had to get one, I'd go with the turbocharged 4 cylinder as well. I would've waited for a manual personally but I understand not everyone enjoys driving a manual vehicle.

As far as it being a good choice, well, do you like the car? If so, then yeah, it was a good choice. As long as you like it, who cares what anyone else thinks?

I love it.

Exactly. The technology in this car is really advanced. There's nothing bad to say about it, it is one of the best new cars I've driven, the second one being the Nissan Altima, then the Kia Optima... etc.

9.0 / 10

Good choice indeed. I would make the same one, exception being the transmission. 👍

Hard to argue with your choice, the only I would make to it (as many others have said already) would be the transmission. For me, if the can be specced with a stick, I'll take the stick. Other than that, no issues, the car looks great, the rims sit well, and from your words so is the car's perfomance. A V8 would be even better, but as usual you'd have to be worried about fuel costs and taxes and whanot. So the Ecoboost was the best possible choice for you. And you enjoy it, so I'd say it's a win-win situation. And that's what matters. 👍

What do you have to say about the handling, by the way?

Interesting choice. I'm not a fan of the artificial engine noise through the speakers but other than that it's a solid car.

I've test driven the '15 Mustang GT and the gearbox was what stood out to me. Clutch pedal was light and shifter had short but accurate throws. Anyone could powershift that thing...

It is very quick and snappy, the steering is very accurate at about 2.6 turns lock to lock. It holds the road great, and then revised suspension is perfect. It's a sporty thing I tell you!

The advantages of a good suspension setting, huh? The end of the rear live axle did wonders for the Mustang, it seems. The somewhat synthetic engine noise is a minor issue in face of such a well-honed (handling-wise) car such as the Mustang.

Yeah. Um... I drove my friends 2012 Mustang, V8, Manual... what a traction-less rear...

Anyways, according to the dealership, the synthetic engine sound is an option within the stereo settings. I'll see for my self; I think otherwise.

Uh-oh, live rear axle on a 2012 'Stang is not a good trip to have. Unless you're driving on the freeway.

Wasn't it something tied to the car's stereo system? I remember reading stories about the people who accidentaly busted the fuses in the car (Jalopnik did an article about it, I think) and shut off the car's synthetic noise, therefore discovering the true nature of the sound. IIRC, removing or changing the car's stereo will remove the sound.

Surely there had to have been one closer to you than Ohio?

Dealership personnel will want to assassinate you if you learn this one weird trick about traveling five states away to buy a car you could buy nearly anywhere. The result is priceless, once you see the look on the Finance & Insurance manager's face after he finds out. Also, check out the 17 hacks you need to avoid if you're going to click on a news story that isn't really news, but we guarantee that you'll give us at least 18 clicks, so we can unnecessarily optimize and leverage our way into every website you'll ever need.

I don't recall ever saying I didn't believe you or ask where your mom lives or how you're taking ownership of the vehicle. I simply asked if there was one closer to home than Ohio, and I don't believe for a second that there isn't. If you misconstrued my question into something it's not, that's on you.

And it's times like these I wonder why some have issues, with certain facts not being explained right. Now ProRacer isn't even posting anymore, and that was before he posted a status message saying he was leaving the forum. I just think that perhaps some explanations could've been done better...

It turns out he only means on that account, as he keeps trying to make new ones.

And to think, all that @TB asked was why he went two states over to buy a pretty mainstream new car.

Well, TB was merely asking a question, that much I can gather. It's just that the whole thing escalated so rapidly, without any clear reason. I was going to tell Pro to be aware that sometimes rash answers are not a good idea, but then he shut off his account.

What just happened?
I was wondering the same thing. Almost sounds like someone was called out...by accident. Especially since there are no pictures. *Heads over to the Ludicrous Claim thread.* Hmm still nothing.

I came in actually excited to see that someone had the 2015 Mustang. I am actually quite intrigued by a supercharged 4 cylinder Mustang. Was also hoping for pics.

Wait a second......is proracer the same person that said he had a Z06 Vette? Then later we found out it was his dads???

Apparently, ProRacer was a bit too rash answering to TB, who asked why did Pro buy his car from so far when he could've chosen to buy locally. ProRacer was apparently upset enough with TB's words (perhaps unfairly so) to shut off his account all together. That's what I gather from this.

HOLY CRAP. IT IS!!! Took me a minute but I knew I recognized this name from the "ludicrous claim thread". He posted a pic of a brand new ZO6 saying in June 2014 in the "Show off your latest purchase" saying the ZO6 was his car. After many pages of debates in the Ludicrous claim thread, he finally admitted it was not his car. It was his dads.

Grab your popcorn if you want to re-read all of it again.....It is many pages long. Starts in post#4138 I cant believe I remember this.

I am guessing maybe the same thing happened again with this 2015 Mustang. @TB just happened to set him off.

Well, that's one wild story... Not going to read it, but it does sound like a wild trip.

And I guess Pro took TB's words a bit too seriously, which sparked a bad discussion. I wonder why some people just act in such a rash manner, it's this sort of thing that leads to nonsensical arguments...

Long story short. He lied, was called out, kept lying, finally admitted he lied many pages and mod edits later. If it truly is his car or will eventually be handed to him that's great, but once you are called out in that thread, its VERY hard to forget and even harder to obtain trust. Clearly we would need proof this is his car or this is going to be deja vu all over again.

Unless ProRacer creates another account, I doubt if we will ever hear the truth about the Mustang. From what I read, it seems that it is his car this time, but yeah, it's hard to regain trust after such an episode (i.e. the Corvette ZO6 episode).

His current account is still active. He's logged in as recently as 3 hours ago. It's the other accounts that he's registered for that have been banned.

As I've already stated, I asked a simple question as he flew off with his reply. Yes, he's lied in the past so naturally I'm hesitant to believe him. That doesn't, however, mean I need copious amounts of proof, simply an explanation for why one would go so far from home for a standard, off the lot Ford when you'd drive past countless dealers with the same vehicle on the way.

There was pictures at one point.

Well, from that, I guess that it was just a case of rash judgment on the part of Pro, if anything. That previous case was without a doubt a problematic one, that created a lot of doubts regarding his arguments. It's unfortunate that such a simple question led to such a troublesome issue, but it's hard to really find a proper solution now at this point.

As for the answer, I am not Pro so I will call this the final answer, but maybe he wanted a specific Mustang that most local dealers couldn't offer right away, and perhaps he did not have the patience to wait for local dealers to provide him with said specific car. Again, I do not know if this is the answer, but it has to be said.

I find it pretty hard to think that any dealer doesn't have at least 1 4 cylinder car on the lot.
