This 16 year old finally got his first car! Ok, so technically, it isn't mine, yet. I'll be picking it up on Tuesday for 1050. Admittedly, it's in some rough shape, but what can you expect for 1050? It runs great and body is in pretty good shape. Just be using it for a while probably, I just needed a car, especially with the summer coming around and getting to work (not to mention, my moms minivan isn't exactly a good ride)

The Good:
Transmission shifts perfectly
Exterior is in pretty good shape for a 20 year old car
New Tires
Still has some pep to it
Engine is in great shape
Clean Carfax
It RUNS (Compared to the a Ford Probe I was also looking at)

The Bad:
Small amounts rust
Needs some exhaust work
Interior is in rather rough shape
1 spring needs to be replaced, but they have the replacement springs
And this I just don't understand. They installed a battery that is too large for the car, so they've put a rubber mat on top of it. I... I just don't get that one.

So in short, for 1050, it isn't an A+ car, but for short term while I raise some money to put down on a better car, it will get me around. And I've always had a soft spot for the SHOs.

Rubber mat was put on top of it to prevent the + and - from shorting on the hood. I recommend getting standard sized battery asap to avoid issues.

Yeah they explained that. I was more wondering why the wrong size was installed in the first place. I was already pricing some batteries today, I planned on getting the correct size.

Your Taurus reminds me of my first car in a couple of ways. My first car was a 1991 Buick Century given to me in 2002. I loved that friggin' car. Anywho, when my dad was buying it (new, for himself -- I was 5 then) he had two options, a Taurus sedan or the Buick. I remember the Ford salesman even let us take the car home for a single night. My dad ended up buying the Buick and eventually handed it down to me.

Congrats on your new car. :)
