So have to be careful how I phrase this...

Just gone back and done some more Gr3 laps in the Lambo and the McLaren and I personally am warming to the braking change, it's has less fidelity in the control but the trade off is the initial bite is harder and the ABS is doing a lot more as you trail in giving the same feel as trail braking does but with a bit more agility.

Now the careful bit....

My driving style tends to fractionally over turn the car in to use the small understeer slip to alter the exit angle a fraction, previously this resulted in a slight vibration...

The new physics have this overly aggressive weighting that shakes my shaft to the point it's so audible it sounds and feels like all the bolts are coming out. It is rather unpleasant which historically shaft shaking hasn't been....

You can drive round this my not inducing understeer or locking the brakes with steering angle/load on and it's smoother but not ultimately faster.

Got within .2 of my best time in the 650 and feel I can beat it but that is very much more down to my ability and not getting close to the cars capability rather than physics or BoP changes.
Yeah this is what I was on about in the Physics thread. There's just so much loud and aggressive rumbling now, it's rubbish.

I swear they confuse feedback feel with feedback noise (over active feedback not actual sounds)

It's pretty awful and making me less and less want to lean on the chassis or the tires just to avoid unnecessary wheel judders and vibrations. This is compounded by the fact high downforce cars still have no weighting to the wheel, heavy Gr3 they seem insistant that they don't have power steering and that every movement should be felt and not just heard! I'll hear my understeer thank you I don't need exaggerated wheel inputs for it.

I’m happy to hear the Alfa is in the hunt, that was a nice drive recently at grand valley, maybe new and different metas to come, hopefully it brings us more of the gr4 cars to use iso just the lambo and g70
The NSX was competitive at Myiabi but it was a bit of a slog TT wise to get it there.

The Evo also was good at and I can't remember well enough but I think the short RBR.

But otherwise nothing really competitive with the AWD and I think that's why they sort of realised and trolled us with the curated GR4 class. They know, we know, so let's not pretend.

*I know the lancer is AWD drive I was meaning meta Lambo

Just to say that the Alfa is insane at the Deep Forest's start. Pace wise the Lambo can still be faster, but the handicap at the start is immense.
So I tried the Alfa for some practice and I'm in the low '32 already. Not fast as with the Lambo yet, but very near. The car has surprisingly the '31 in the radar after the buff. I wonder why PD didn't give a better chance to MR (Lambo apart) or 2WD cars in general.

It was all going so well today: improved my QT by nearly a second, got my first win, feeling pretty gooood 😎

Then on my last race of the night, somehow managed to slam on the clutch pedal instead of the brake going into the first corner and flew like a rocket up the rear end of pole position. Poor chap didn't know what hit him.

Note to self - learn to walk before you run 🤡

I did tell you all on Monday morning the Alfa was a good choice 😉😉 Unfortunately I haven't had chance since then to have another bash but it is seriously good around DF 👌

Not available now. I actually can't remember how I ended up with mine, something is telling me it could have been a prize from a menu book. Someone will know. I do know back in '22 it was the META gr4 car, just like the Lambo is now
Thank you! I've been looking in all the lots for them! Just having a great time in GR.4! I was running my Audi TT and WRX, but this GT-R is pretty good! Placing well also

Just 2 races at Interlagos for me this evening. I failed to set a new fast time in my practice laps.

Race 1 had me in P6 to start. I got to P4 by the second lap. On lap 3 a driver decided that the best course of action would be to send it up my inside via a dive on the final sharp corner before the start straight. Naturally I get spun and they keep pushing me down the track. So I fall way behind but crawl my way back to P10. The replay showed there was no way they were going to make that corner. No idea why they went for it.

The second race had me in P14 because who knows at this point. Again, I get a good start and get to P8 thanks to some filthy driving. Once again I get shoved to the side at the end of the infield section and get spun. The driver doing that made all their passes that way. What a clown. They got dumped at some point so I was happy with that. I finish P14 and I'll be done for the week.

I think it's a good combo, but the dummies desperate to move up the field are making it difficult for me to have some fun. Still, some of the better results I've had in a while.

I know the feeling, race B has been awful this week, some races it’s happening to me this filth and some races not, but you can just see the carnage all around, I think I went from 11th to 7th on the last corner yesterday.

Not sure if this is racing or a mad max movie at times 🤣

At least there’s good racing to be had in A this week and looks like C too, so alls not lost 😁

Here's my Nannini's Alfa ITC for this weekend (found on shared car styles) . I don't have the time to make a new "Gurzu style" livery for it now, but it will come soon enough since this will be the new meta on gr.4 for a while (imho). I'm not yet sure if my style will go well with this "so squared" car, but i'll try to make it work anyway.

This week is a real real struggle to find the pace

B: I improved fractionally in the 650 but a 1.31:4 just won't be competitive in my lobbies and it's not the QT starting position I'll have but the race pace will basically be my QT.....

C: again improved to a 1.32:4 but even on my friends list that puts me 22nd and no where near close enough pace wise to not just go backwards in both position and DR

On the plus side I used my two Doritos liveries on the 650 and 155

Just not sure where I'm missing my pace this week especially as I'm able to do a few more miles than the last few weeks?

Shout out to @brockie and all the work he's putting in with the torque steer monster!

May just call it a day on dailies this week and practice for the Manu cup

Bless you mate, every now and again there’s a combo which can be rinsed, I’ll be bored as hell by Sunday 🤣

I honestly think too much choice is the problem, when there’s only one race to commit to that’s when the real race evolution throughout the week comes,

My normal staple of B has deserted me this week with a mixture of bumpy racing and mad max cowboys.

I don’t do the manu/nations stuff because it’s beyond race C for me and I don’t much like race C 🤣 in endurance terms.

I hope you find some racing solace this weekend bro, it’s a bugger when the week is done on a Friday 🤨

👊

Thanks mate....although the Nations Cup is the Redbull 2019X at Grand Valley which lets all be honest sounds like utter hell!

I'm not sure why I'm not quite keeping up with the peeps I should be although in fairness they all set their QTs early in the week and then the update but even then I was struggling to find the pace.

It's also a little compounded that my main UK, alt UK and alt US account are all A so it's not like I can go get a mix of racing and relax a little (that is not flexing for anyone reading this!!) so everything I do would be at the sharper end and that is hard work when you are already off the relative pace to begin with.

Just a bit meh/downer :(

New physics are really counter intuitive mate, don't beat yourself up over it.
Get your braking done early and come off the brake completely to get any turning done. Trail braking is dead.

It's a "right, back to iRacing" sort of update for me.

100% mate

At your level i even wonder how you keep the motivation going,

It’s all new physics I guess to learn again, they feel better for a driver at my level.

3 accounts all at AS, man that’s tough.

As @Nebuc72 says - don’t beat yourself up

i even wonder how you keep the motivation going,
Because I love racing, it's a passion and it's safer than the real racing I did and owning the superbike I did which was not only going to lose me my license but probably kill me.

I love driving, so I strive to learn and be good at it, add in the competition and I feel almost as alive as when riding a fast bike.

@Nebuc72 you are very very right about the trail braking, just doing Suzuka practice laps and you definitely can't drag the brake in to the hair pin any more or at Spoon. I might change down to weak ABS but I'm not imagining it's gonna be game changing!

A complete different approach to braking. The markers in VR are a little later than Tidgneys guides in VR but now I'm feeling I should go back to coasting more

Edit: also thank you @Nebuc72 and @brockie

Even though the Atenza didn't get any buffs or nerfs, I was worried that the update would mean I couldn't improve my time.

Pretty stoked on my 1:32.762. Only took eighteen laps!

Should be able to hit up Race C tomorrow. I look forward to getting swarmed by 155s, like one of those promiscuous spring breakers and a school of piranha.

Good work!

There is time there though ;)

Barely in the '31 club at DF (1:31.978) with the Alfa. 3-5 tenths faster is possible, but I preferred to start racing to get the idea. No clean race so far, but I'm confident for the weekend. Enjoy yours, guys.

I tried to beat your MP4 time with my own MP4 and gave up. I don't know how you did it. I'm around 1 second slower.

But yes, a low 1:31 doesn't cut it this week.
