Hey everyone, this has been my goal is to drift pretty much the same as in initial d, there are two parts to it. 1) the short hairpin turn (kinda like in the seattle full circuit) 2) the long turn with a drift that kinda rotates with the corner. I've been wondering if such a thing is possible. So far i am best in 4wd, I would love to get my rx-7 to drift, if the bloody thing wouldnt understeer... But yeah, i'm just wondering if anyone has pulled off drifts like in initial d, and possibly how to do them. thnx

ahh so it was you who did that, very nice, i've seen it in misc GT3 music vids. How much brake did you apply to it to get the 360 then the drift?

RX-7 and understeer? When ever I hear something like that I'm always convinced that the person has ASM set to 20, SET ASM TO ZERO!!!! and there you go, no more understeer. There is a nice drifting FAQ in this forum, read that. It has a bunch of good info, but drifting is all about practice.

As for initial d drifting well... check out my video, and tell me what you think; the link is in my sig.

Oh, yes your goal is possible.

Well that's the only reason i can think of for an RX-7 to understeer.

Unless... Maybe you don't have enough power and too much traction. How much HP are you using and what tires? 250-350 hp is good for sim tires, 400-500 for normals and well everything else for everything else to get nice long drifts. It would be very hard (not impossible) to pull of a nice long drift on super softs with only 400hp or so.

oooo, if you do stage 3 lightening, it'll make the car whip back into grip position during ur drift.
Get another car, do stage 2 and every other upgrade

no worries, i've avioded weight reduction, but i believe i solved my understeer problem, someone explained TOE to me and i got my rx-7 to turn nicely with a lil help, still a bit heavy in a regular turn, but its a start :)
