My GT2 story

I'm writing this to give an idea of what playing GT2 is about.
The cars, the tracks, the fun, and the strange epiphanys.
*I got this idea from Parnelli Boone (or is it Bone? Sorry I can't remember.)
To get the ball rolling....
On June I don't know, three days ago maybe? I walked into my local game shop to trade some games in (Burnout, Madden, Motorstorm) for some store credit. Fat service guy says $15 bucks for them (and NFS, this guy ripped me off) and I head to the PS3 section to check it out. Walking through, something catches my eye. A GT symbol. The GT2 symbol. I look, its $5 and I buy it, guys like youre wasting money. I dont care. Its Gran Turismo, and this is another peice to the collection. I go home, pleased, kinda giddy to play a 11 year old game (Im 14 so most kids play COD or MAG. Not me.) I fire up the PS3 , clean both discs, even though I havent touched the arcade one. I shove it in and fire the thing up. It works PERFECT. :) First thing I do naturally is hunt for a car. I go for the oddball, a '86 MR2 1600 SC, blue, with 138hp. I go into the licensing center, and get the b and a licenses, and head to the Sunday Cup, and win my first GT2 race at Tahiti Road. I'll continue this later, cause my 🤬 sister wants on the computer.

Now after my win at Tahiti Road, I traveled to the "South City" and purchased a 1995 Dodge Neon R/T. Well actually it was after a bunch of races at Sunday Cup and two wins at the Clubman Cup :D. I bought the Red w/ White Stripes. I felt like it was right, but it was really 15K's down the toilet. I entered into the stock Neon race and lost miserably. Don't worry, my revenge comes later. A few more races into the Clubman with the MR2, now rated at 190-odd BHP, courtesy of a uprated turbocharger 👍( does this make it a super-and-turbochrged engine? Like VW Europes TFSI?) Now for a flashback, when I entered that Dodge dealership, a Top Banana 1971 Dodge Challenger caught my eye. A 285BHP rumbling V8 in the most classic looking musclecar for 11K? Me likey. You likey. When I finally shove the Neon in the garage; and dont pull it out for 100 GT days, I pull out the MR2 again, which I still have , albeit in a hardcore, take-no-prisoners race-spec GT capable of crushing Vector Twin-Turbos (different day). So I get my Challenger, and enter in the historic Car Cup, and I get a new car, can't remember, cause I probably sold it for $$$. I never entered the FR Cup with it (later on). I got the last race of the Clubman Cup with the Challenger, and an epiphany happened: (there will be a few of these) while driving this muscle car, the soft, gelatinous suspension reminds me of the GT4 mission at Seattle in the Superbird, with the soft suspension. MMMM. I miss GT4.:guilty:
After a lot of races and other things, I'm in my 128th GT day, and I currently own these: a 1986 Toyota MR2 1600 G-Limited Supercharger Race-Spec, 279hp; a 1995 Doidge Neon R/T Race-Spec,283hp; the 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI RS Race-Spec, 593hp, and is my main car for most races. It has awesome versatlity. Next is 1998 Dodge Intrepid ES Race-Spec, a FF sedan with 505hp. Got the idea from a different forum here at :gtplanet:. AFter is a 1997 Citroen Saxo F2 Kit Car, or in my words, the 1.6 Race-Spec. 264BHP.
Finishing off is my 1975 Fiat 500R Race-Spec, a cool 138BHP on 1020lbs. on a RR platform. Oh, and I'm tuning a Elise 190. I have $616,712.
This was the opening. From now on, I'll keep daily tabs on my progress, from race results to purchases and so on. I have 30% done, so wish me luck!!

All right, it's Saturday the 19th, and I feel like telling some more progress.
I still have all my cars, and have added a SLK230 Komp. Racer for the Euro League, which I finally can win. The race was at Apricot Hill Raceway, and I was driving for 10K against other Euro Sports Cars. The race starts, and my car maniacialy revs to the 8000rpm limit, and rips off the line, beating E55s and RCTs. Head into Turn 1, low, but the last car I drove was the Intrepid in the Pacific League, so this car was more unstable, and the oversteer sends the car in the wall, pulling a 360 spin and putting me in last. I finally catch up to the turn before the hairpin, and the car smoothly passes the feild. Through the hairpin, the car possess some understeer, and I hit the grass but stay in first. Going through the next set of turns also turns on the oversteer, and the car skids through the wall. After looking through the replay, I found my car had also spun the E55, but the car, again in last, hard-charged its way back into the lead, and with 2 to go, I held the lead perfectly, letting no car pass, and win brilliantly.
Later on, I tested a bunch of Racers at the 400M, and luckily my garage wasn't Grand Theft Auto'd. :) Won the rest of the Euro League in the SLK230, which had more oversteer issues at Rome. Afterwards, purchased a Toyota GT-One Road Ver. and got 975BHP from a Stage 4 Turbine. Won the GT World CHampionship and sold the Road-spec GT-One, won some GT All-STArs at Red Rock, MAzda Laguna Seca, and Super Speedway. Sold the Speed 12. It's ugly. At LAguna Seca the M12 LM kept spinning out on the bump in the corkscrew.
Right now I'm in the Trial Mtn. 30 Laps in the Saxo F2 Kit Car, and I've lapped the feild in 13 laps.
In other news I finally played GT5 Prologue with my brother and won, but he was stoned. :D
And I won the Trial Mountain 30 Lpas now, about 20min after editing. Its my second ever endurance GT win. (I had on ein GT4)
Also got the K-Car Cup done in a tuned Cinquecento.
42% done.

It's Bone! :P

Wow, you found a store that still sells PS1 games, huh? I'm on the east coast nowadays.....all the game stores only sell PS2 or 3 stuff here. :( Perhaps I should someday make a drive up to Erie!

You know whats weird? I used to live in Maryland! But the store I go to sells everything from every system. The place is called Play World, by the way.

And for the daily update:
Did my second endurance race! :sly: Millenium at Rome in 1998 Toyota GT-One Race Car, finished in 2 hours 11 seconds, finished 93 of 99 laps, Atlantique 600 LM, Toyota GT-One '99, Ford GT40, Nissan R390 GT1 Race Car, Lister STorm V12 finished in that order. 3 pit stops, lots of spins in the straightaway corners.
FInished the historic cup. How is a Celica Concept from 1999 historic? Oh well. Doing the convertible cup. one of the few special events not won yet, That, the 80's races, the NA race, and the GT300. Few endurance, rally, lota one-make.

playing GT1 today because my GT2 has been overworked.
I'll be back at it tomorrow.
I'm just trying to beat GT1 a little more.
Played with the arcade disc. Pretty useless except for time trials with your own garage.

Won the Seattle Endurance in a Subie STi with race mod. New Ford GT90 to account for win. Won the Rome-GT All-Stars. Nearly got beat by a Saleen driving the GT-One cause of a spin in the last corner.
ZZII isn't my MR. Stick with the MR2! Probably a few more miscellanoues races, and thats all see you tomorrow.

You seem to be using overkill cars...you shouldn't need a race-mod at Seattle Endurance, for instance, but it's your game...

Yeah but I didn't know what car to use. It said 591hp limit and mine only came to 450 so I was suprised to see muscle cars. Also won some rallies in the Escudo, so yeah overkill can be something I use a bit of.
And the car was already race modded.

Thanks blazing escudo
this site is helping me from not listening to my brothers plan to take over the oceans in a boat.
been playing gt5p all day

I could tell you one of the fastest ways to make money, so you can do more upgrades, but you seem to be having too much fun.:D
GT2 is STILL a great game.
Have fun!

My copy of GT4 won't run on my PS2.
I'm very seriously thinking of dropping the hundred bucks for a new one....

I AM having fun I always liked to play the GT like this: "1. make money.
2.buy a bunch of cars and upgrade them and then run out of money
3. do races over and over with the cars

I played GT5P yesterday so no progress and I dont know about today.

I beat the last race in GT5P, and haven't played it since. LOL

My "usual" strategy for playing GT2 is to get all the licenses first.
Hopefully golding all of the A-level license to win the Spoon S2000.
I then take the stock S2K to the Trial Mountain Enduro and beat it. For the big cash prize and the Denso Sard Supra.
I then take the Denso Supra and win the "Unlimited" race at Red Rock Valley and sell the Speed 12.
Two races and I'm very nearly a "millionaire".
Then I go back and have fun with the "slow car" races.

Problems with that Gil
1. I can't get all gold in licensing tests (and I don't want to)
2. I'm already 53% in
3. I hate Enduros (but I have 3 done, 4 in all GT's)

Yeah but you got to do them and you feel good afterwards so im split.
Hanging with freinds so no clue for today.
Doing some dealer races 61% done whoohoo.

Car rides suck. I'm hot, bored, and everyone but Jordan are talking about 671 blown motors. Even worse with only 4 hours of sleep cause my sister talks on the phone for 12 GOD-🤬 HOURS. I NEED SOME GRAN TURISMO ABOUT NOW!. I'll have some more updates later.

The second set is the easiest to gold all 10 tests.
And the Trial Mountain enduro is only 30 laps.
You can pretty much win it any any of the stock turbo Skylines with over 200 HP if you prefer to buy rather than win your first car..

And as far as Enduro's go, I'm not terribly fond of them.
I actually prefer the ones that have street cars over the ones with racing cars.

That said, I prefer the enduros in GT2 than in any of the later games.

I won the Trial Mountain Enduro in a [R]Citroen Saxo
Millenium at Rome in a Toyota GT-One Race Car '98
And the Seattle Endurance in a [R] Subaru Impreza

Oh yeah, I'm back! Summit Nat'ls at Norwalk was loud, hot, and full of nitromethane. Speaking of Nitromethane, it makes your eyes water. Thanks a lot Alanabi Racing.

I'm having trouble hearing normal conversation now.
Played some GT5P, Skate 2, and Red Dead Redemption.

Played GT2 today to take the North City manufacturer events, and the Audi TT Trophy is difficult in both races if your car isn't fully tuned. Also need to get the Tuscan Speed Six for TVR but I can't find it. At 65-so% and it's getting higher:sly:(like my brother). Getting low on cash cause of buying and tuning so much, so the Speed 12 comes in handy when I need $$$:dopey:.
Thinking about going through mylicenses and improving my records. Only got 3 hours left as I have things to do tonite. My brother from another mother took my controller and one the Beetle Cup, which amazed as he had never played AND was on Grand Valley Speedway, one of the toughest courses.
Right now I'm trying to calm my obsession down because chicks think its weird and i need a girlfreind. Oh well, off to Rome for the 3rd try of the TT Cup-Race Mod

Cool unorthodox report GT Prologue5! Hey when I get back into GT2 in the summer (If those PS1 memory cards are really there) I might do something like this.

Do it it's pretty fun.
I will try doing something like you are. Just need to confirm that those memory cards are there, remember to pack up the GT2 set when I go, and I'm all set.

Sorry man it's a little messed up right now but I did do the North City except for TVR Tuscan and the SLK normal version race. Don't worry, I'll give my readers what they want.
