I really like the wavy lines as apposed to the straight ones you normally use.

Nice to wake up and see "My Motorsport Drawings" on your watch list.

Yesssssss. The speelines, as usual. I also love the subject, always loved that cockroach of a car.

Feel this is more somber, I believe this is right before Gilles death.

No, this is a scene from Imola race where he battled with Pironi, but was only able to finish second. Later he was furious at Pironi for supposedly not following the team orders, to hold positions while he was leading the race. Villeneuve was killed when he collided with Jochen Mass, during the qualifying for the next GP in Zolder, two weeks later.

So this is where it started because as you probably know yourself, the story goes that due to his anger toward Pironi, his aim during that quali before his crash was to beat his team mate (Pironi). Though I've also heard that he was on a return lap and it was just a freak accident. However the dynamic and story behind this painting is why I felt to comment on it, it's a great piece for more than the art but the history.

Thanks mate, i had that in mind when choosing the title for the drawing. We will never know what went on in his head during that qualifying session, but he was definitely a passionate man and maybe that passion got the better of him...

I love to see new posts from you pop-up in this thread @Klem. Your work is absolutely fabulous. I particularly like that Toyota GT-one as it is a contender for my all-time time favourite race car.
