WTF are you talking about??.......Drift POSER!!!!!! No not even close.
I drift when it's raining out because of the open diff and unless I try a new set of turns or something unexpected happens...yes it's boring drifting within my limits.......I don't even see it as drifting any more.....to me it's just driving and it happens to be sideways. If you drift the same set of turns enough times that you are SO consistent that you could do it in your sleep, then yes, it becomes BORING. And I have certain routes that I take when it rains, I go take a lap around perimiter drive because it has some really good turns, you can ask any of my friends, I can do some pretty amazing things with an open diff 240sx in the rain. I'm getting to opsite lock and holding it there, I link this set of S-turns (three turns) and get it damn near perfect every time. Then I do it in the oposite direction. After a while I get so that unless there's traffic for me to slide in between it's not even fun anymore after about 2-3 rainy days in a row.
Now drifting up/down Signal Mtn blvd. THAT'S FUN!! Dangerous, but fun. What's just plain scary though is the backside of Suck Creek MTN. That'll scare even the best of 'em just driving it in the dry at night. Especially "Dead Mans Curve" Named for a cross on a tree staring you in the face as you approch the hairpin turn where somebody over shot it and died.
Oh, and have you ever Kansie (sp?) drifted in the dry at 80mph on an open public street in the middle of a bright sunny day on a two lane road?? Yeah, I rest my case.....all this with a stock S13 btw. And yes I do drift curvy roads in the rain and I have been known to do it in traffic. And I very rerely even need my E-brake, I just shift lock, fient, Kansie, clutch kick, or braking drift...rarely I'll do a power over.
All that is fun as hell because it's crazy as hell and dangerous. I know I shouldn't do it on public roads, but I know how to do it within my bounderies, which is why I've never wrecked because of drifting yet. I've spun a few times but I know how to spin out, so I just stay in my lane. And I have had a few run in's with the law too. I actually have to go to court for "driving too fast for conditions" next week for drifting a set of S-curves in the rain, in traffic, and a cop happened to be coming the other way when I exited the drift.
TO ME. It's pretty damn easy to drift when it's raining. If you drive within your bounderies and don't force the car to do something it doesn't want to do it'd be easy for you. You have to listen to the car with your hands and your butt. It'll tell you when it's ok to drift and how much and when it want's to stop. If you force it you'll wreck.
And BTW, I've been drifting since I was 15, now I'm 19, 20 next month. Yes it was hard for me those first 2-3 years because I was trying to force it, but then I started realising to start working WITH the car instead of against it and that's when I got good and it started getting boring drifting my old routes over and over again. Drifting is like anything else. If you do the same thing over and over again, it get's old.
And BTW, I get bored as hell with GT3 drifting ALL THE TIME. That means I suck at it right?? Checked my vids in the OP yet?? I must really suck at GT3 drifting then, In which case.....PLEASE, PLEASE let me see your GT3 drift vids, Oh, DRIFT KING!!!!!
Now tell me I don't know how to drive.......
