Very nice car. I still don't think I have ever seen a Skyline in real life. Very rare in this area. 565+ hp in that car must be a blast. Some serious power.

Yesterday i finally had some time to go and see her again:)

The brakes were installed and she was on the Dyno for a Remap. the old TPS sensor was acting up so i needed a new one. Henk thought it was a wise choice to start over from scratch to make it run like a dream again.

There was a big problem though!
because i went off track without brakes at 160kph the GT-C rims took a hard hit.
they need to be fixed otherwise they will hit the calipers because they are bent a little and there is very little room left.

so i bought the Volk TE37's from the Pro Import Demo car and will fix or sell the GT-C's. The Demo car had a big make over with a complete carbon wide body so they wouldnt use these TE37 rims anymore, and i needed some!

they are now sand blasted and repainted in matte black.

Now we need some more bronze wheel nuts because the old ones from the GTC wouldnt fit in the TE37's, i will try to get some centercaps and might make some new logo stickers for on the wheel spokes

If you're going to Zandvoort next year with this, I'd like to join.. :) Been there once but never out on the track and certainly not in a GT-R..!

What kind of numbers did you see after the last remap?

Last remap was 565hp 624Nm with a very wide powerband and lots of torque in the mid range (from 5000rpm till 6500rpm flat 620Nm!, from 6500-8000rpm at LEAST 550hp).

it shouldnt make anything more because we only changed the TPS sensor since the last Remap, the old sensor was acting up so we had to do alot of patching in the mapping...so much that Henk thought it would be better to start over (of course not totally from scratch but it comes close).
there should be big changes in the throttle response and overall smoothness of the engine though. now he can finally take full advantage of the ITB's, Nismo Plenum, Greddy Intake/HKS Intercooler, Garrett GT2860-5 combo.

it already showed that it has very good airflow in the low rpm's, thats probably also why it ran so smooth. at 3500rpms he could add 17% more fuel to it compared to the old plenum and it wouldnt even run very rich! it works much better! really picks up alot better then before. so maybe there will be some gains there now the TPS is changed and he can adjust it even better, but other then that the max power figures should stay roughly the same.

Im glad that i decided to buy the Nismo plenum, i saw it laying around and it looked so well engineered compared to other aftermarket plenums, i just had to get it! :P nice to see that it is actually working very well. its also designed to suit 400-600hp RB26's and it takes advantage of the stock ITB's while other plenums use one big throttle body. so it is a perfect match for my R33!

and i would like to do some laps on Zandvoort and Assen next year! :) Cant wait to put those brakes to the test

Woa long time no update over here!

Not alot of things have changed but there are some new upgrades/changes from the last period:

it now has a brand new N1 Waterpump.
a new HKS timing belt
Nismo center console gauges to match the Nismo speedo cluster.
Garage Defend Carbon Cooling Panel
and last but not least its now equipped with genuine series 3 Xenon Headlights!! :D

i've also did some track sessions this year. she drives like a dream! im very happy with the AP Racing brakes! after 40 minutes of track sessions they still have no sign of brake fade! amazing! i want some for the rear aswell!! :)

back at home after the maintenance early this year..first signs of nice weather...i just had to take her for a spin!

Hope you like it! i still have alot of plans for the car so i keep you updated ;)

Ok guys a little update on the GTR.

a couple of weeks ago the car broke down. while shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear something popped in the gearbox thats for sure :P no drive in any of the gears and it was almost impossible to get it into any gear really...

so i had to get an auto ambulance to pick her up.

dropped her of at Pro Import motorsports the next day to figure out what to do next.

after i looked through my options i choose to rebuild another gearbox with brand new and upgraded parts

OS Giken 1st 2nd 3rd Close ratio kit
OS Giken strenghtened input shaft
OS Giken Center plate
all other bits and pieces will be replaced with new nissan parts.

Last saturday a shipment arrived :)

the transmission is out of the car aswell
10581359_10202389971381865_809212158_n.jpg~original

next week they will start rebuilding the transmission. Tuesday im going to check it out, ill bring the camera with me :)
Keep you guys updated, but she will get a very nice transmission thats for sure!

That's unfortunate but at least you get to put in nice new shiny bits to fix it instead of some unknown condition gearbox.

That's unfortunate but at least you get to put in nice new shiny bits to fix it instead of some unknown condition gearbox.

yeah my thoughts exactly, you never know how long a used stock gearbox will hold out. now that its reinforced im hoping it wont happen again. OS Giken claims its good enough for 800hp set ups. i have 565hp so im on the safe side.

I suspect it to be a lot less expensive than going for a getrag exchange ?

So awesome seeing in this thread the beginning, and how crazy far you come with that monster.

It's crazy good. Please do not even think about selling it.

Btw, mine will undergo a complete body restoration first. Hopefully ready for next year, and then I come up to some meets like japfest ;)

Hello guys! yeez a year has passed...lets update.
what a crazy year it has been! so much changed!

So first things first. Lets talk about Oktober 2014...it was crazy!
in that month i had my first trackday in soaking WET conditions at the TT Circuit of Assen. it was also the first time with the new gearbox! I have to say, the OS Giken gear ratio's match the car much better! absolutely love it! i also learned alot about how the car reacts by driving the car in slippery conditions.
10703714_712887992098856_5984574887294122569_n.jpg~original

But right after that trackday a disaster happend...a Turkish truck driver lost his directions, so he ended up in the street were i live. in all his haste to turn back the way he came, he reversed into my parked R33! :( Everything got sorted though but it was a hell to go through! The GTR front is quite fragile, so it had quite a bit of panal damage. including the S3 xenons! damn! luckally the chassis was still untouched so i only had to fix the panels etc.

i knew i had to spend the whole winter to repair all the damage done and make it better then it was.
Found new S3 xenon headlights via a friend of mine, and found all the body panels i needed in the uk.
i was able to fit everything back together at koolhaas motorsports. then the car went to BW5000 for a complete respray in KL0 Spark Silver metallic (its original colour), i also decided the S3 bumperlip had to be colour coded. i also found some clear indicators via the GTRshop.
Via the FB page ClubR33GTR i bought some rear spats aswell.

And here it goes, of to the paint shop with all the "new" parts on it

last but not least i had my eyes on a set of new wheels that were for sale in the US...a lovely set of discontinued Volk Racing CE28N's in 19x10,5 ET12!! Painted in the optional Formula Silver colour brand new in box...during halloween they threw in a 1100$ discount i couldnt resist! so i bought them right away! They are now fitted with Falken FK453's 275/30/19 tires all around

here is the final result...im very happy with it! Looks super clean!

Here you can also spot one of the latest mods on the car...a shiney HKS Kansai strutbrace!

I still use her for the occasional track day! this was at Circuit Park Zandvoort...i use the 18 inch TE37's for trackdays.
5D3_8850_1.jpg~original

The last update i did to the car was a BNR34 Titanium Ganador catback exhaust! had to make a custom decat because the R33 has a longer wheelbase then the R34 but that was an easy fix. LOVE the sound of the new exhaust!!

12032206_687543218046762_5643099712580874587_n.jpg~original

So that was season 2014/2015 in a nutshell. it started with a disaster but in the end it was the season with alot of great events, tour's, trackdays and more. also the car looks much better in my opinion! still some updates to come too!

Tomorrow i have another Trackday at the TT Circuit of Assen, i also ordered a new Rear AP Racing Big Brake kit along with a brake stopper!

plans for next year include new Öhlins coilover suspension, get Semi Slick tires for the TE37's, perhaps a Cusco Rollcage and maybe even compete in a round of Time Attack...

Oh I didn't get it that the respray was due to that :(

As always very awesome car. Lovely upgrades, and that exaust  Crazy:tup: It all came out great.

Next year I will come up for some events. Been eyeing "Drive", a few trackdays (Def. Zolder, maybe Assen)

Need to see yours in person

Cool Drive was good last time one big GTR/skyline fest haha! Maybe you should consider The Rev Run in 2016? route wise its more fun and everything is sorted, dinner hotels etc..ill be there too! Maybe Japfest? cant wait to meet you!
I know Wouter from Part Box a bit, the previous owner of your car. I'm glad you bought the car so its still in good hands!

I bet you those people you overtook must have gotten intimidated by your fire-breathing exhaust. Awesome GT-R 👍👍

When I first looked at the above picture, I thought that the GTR had two steering wheels, and figured that with the recent upgrades, it now took two people to drive the beast!;):D

Nice pictures!👍

Hi all, just al little winter update.

The car is now at Koolhaas Motorsports for Maintenance and a very nice update :)

Last Christmas my AP Racing Big brake kit for the rear Arrived! :) Seen it in person when i took the car to the garage, its a very nice set! i will have some photo's of them installed soon but i didn't had time to visit the garage yet. Yesterday i got word it has been installed on the car.

Quite a few other things need to be done though, apart from the regular oil change, the wheel bearing of the front left wheel was on its way out. the Transfer case of the Atessa 4wd is leaking some oil so we need to fix that aswell.
the front axle on the driver side needs a new rubber (again -.-), and the hicas elimination kit already has some play on it so that needs to be replaced as well...oh well, at least she will be fresh and fruity when i get her back.

I also have my eyes on a new suspension upgrade. I'm thinking about getting some Öhlins DFV adjustable coilover's for the car. My car is sitting on Öhlin shocks since the day i bought it but the set that is on the car is very limited in the way you can adjust them. and they are getting a bit worn out so they kinda need to be replaced aswell (dont know how long these must have been on the car) Going for a new set of DFV's sounds like a great idea :) I read some pretty good reviews on them. Stay tuned. i want to visit the garage next weekend. i'll make sure to make some pics there. Can't wait to take her for a little test drive and feel how the new brakes are :D

Nick send me some pics of the new AP brakes! :) so time for an early update haha

It's a really nice set! :) Quality stuff and everything is included to make it fit on the car. The brake discs with the curved grooves are optional. the standard AP Racing discs just have a couple of straight sleeves

Detail shot of the new CP7618 4 Piston Rear Caliper. Unlike the Pro5000+ front calipers, these DO have rubber seals in them. The Pro5000 series is more track orientated, but they are great for street use aswell, you just have to clean them more often.

Here is a comparison between the stock Brembo rear disc and the new AP 330mm (wich is even bigger then a R33 GTR has up front in stock form :) )

And last but not least. the Front brakes. These made a HUGE diffrence! Like most upgrades for the GTR they are not cheap but these are worth every penny to me! One of the best modifications on my R33.

The Pro5000+'s are really wide calipers :) they have room for a 36mm thick disc and 25mm thick brake pads... :D

Alright, enough brake p0rn for today haha. Can't wait to test drive these gems :)

How do you and Ibonibo afford keeping Skylines? Is it cheap to maintain cars in the Netherlands compared to Canada?

How do you and Ibonibo afford keeping Skylines? Is it cheap to maintain cars in the Netherlands compared to Canada?

While it's not very cheap to run these cars, it's not overly expensive for a 90's supercar. A fraction of the cost of an R35.

@gt4rulez : eager to see this car in person this year ;)
Awesome mods 👍

Alright guys, small update on the GTR. last weekend i've been to Koolhaas Motorsports again to hang out with the lads and see what's up.

The car is almost ready for 2016, turns out the transfer case was fine but it was the rubber that surrounds the gear shifter that was leaking the oil. so that got repaired. simple and easy fix. :)

the wheel bearings up front has been replaced, same with the hicas elimination kit. the brakes are installed and cleaned, and the oil and filters etc got replaced aswell.

The new Cusco brake stopper is installed. i haven't driven the car yet but i got in the car to feel the brake pedal. its rock hard now. damn it makes a huge diffrence!! can't wait to drive it soon!

tomorrow the wheel allignment will be sorted out and then it's ready for a new season! i think i will pick her up next saturday.

heh and one last thing, i'm making plans to build an RB26 stroker :) it will take alot of money and time to complete but i hope to start with it this year, and hopefully by the end of next year complete it and drop it in the GTR. already started to gather some parts. hopefully order the stroker kit soon. stay tuned ;)

NissanSkylineN1
like Ibo said the maintenance is not super expensive. not much more then lets say a bmw 5 series or something simular. but when you start tuning it....it becomes a money pit lol. these upgrades do not come cheap. and if its too good to be true, it 99/100 times is.

Hey guys long time no see.

2016 has been great so far! Actually i never driven the GTR this much!
did a couple of tours, runs for charity, did an open pitlane session on Zandvoort early this year, Did some laps on a WET Nurburgring during the revrun (Slippery!) won my first prize with the GTR, got 3rd place on road tires @ Lelystad wile the rest was on semi's wich was awsome. Just .01 sec behind 2nd too :D aaandddd

Stroker build is going to happen!
here are some of the mods we have planned:
Brand new Nismo N1 v2 engineblock
HKS step2 2.8L Stroker kit.
87mm pistons 2771cc
HKS cams 8,7mm lift 264 and 272 duration
HKS camgears
HKS valvesprings and seals
HKS oilpump
N1 waterpump
Ported head
Acl bearings
Arp studs
6boost exhaust manifold
Garrett GTX3584RS Turbo
Nismo Intake plenum
Trust sump extension with baffle plates
Mine's baffles for the head
Okada coils
On haltech ecu.

The engineblock itself still need to be build so that might take some time before it arrives. all the HKS parts already arrived
Hoping to get at least 700 hp at the fly. The 3584 can flow up to 900 so it might get a bit more :D so excited!
