I'm just hoping to one day be able to buy a used Volvo :embarrassed:

Should we get back on topic? Do you have a gut feeling telling you if Build 08 will be ready within 2 months @jujunosuke?
I hope it will. This is the timing i was thinking of.

Im guessing about 2-3 months for the next build. But will be worth the wait.
I hope that you guys won't be disapointed because it will not be so different from the Build 07.

But yeah, it will be a very good step in the good direction i think.

Sorry but have to go offtopic.

A used Volvo is nothing to be ashamed about. ;)
I have a Volvo 480 turbo which is very fun to drive, unfortunately it is very rust sensitive, but it has always been a car I wanted.

And you don't have to be rich to own multiple cars, you just have to lower the bar on which cars you want.
I have three cars and a motorcycle, of which I own half a DIY buggy based on a VW Beetle chassis(still in project status building it with a friend) and a Peugeot 309(in progress of fixing up, bought it together with my dad).
Granted a Peugeot 309 isn't a pretty car, but it's light, cheap and drives good.

The cars I've owned were bought with my own money for the biggest portion, the other parts with small loans of which I made sure I payed them back within the year.
I must say that if I win the lottery, the new garage will probably be larger than the new house. :D

And now we continue to our regular ontopic programming of this thread.

Hey juju, how about a track editor (In Build 09 or 10 possibly, maybe later than that)

Also, I've been doing some 3D modeling in SketchUp and have some cars to show ya (maybe some inspiration)

They aren't very detailed. I like doing low poly cars.

Lol,i found you:)👍

By the way, while looking trough your collection,i found you were making low-poly tracks from gt games, and then i saw...memories...the complex string...GT3...

So,the track is very tricky and challenging, and i think, adding it into the Redline Racing would be a really cool thing to happen!;)👍
Also,it would be a great challenge for everyone, and better place to test physics:)

So,i'm starting to model it right now;)👍

Whoa,big changes!:)
The unity 5 came out!

Jujunosuke, few questions about upcoming build 08

1)Will be settings (like graphical perfomance) changeable?:)
Just, having a depth of drawing distance, shaders, smoothing and other functions is cool, because PC's are different
2)Will you use new sounds for the cars?;)
3)Will you use real-time shaders in 08 build?:)

@ ferrari gt

1)Will be settings (like graphical perfomance) changeable?:)
Probably yes.

2)Will you use new sounds for the cars?;)
Probably no

3)Will you use real-time shaders in 08 build?:)
That does not mean anything, all shaders are real-time :)
You probably mean Real Time Reflection ?
No, to heavy to render and require Unity Pro anyway.

Basically my main focus is to target mobile platform.
PC version will just be mobile version on steroids :)

Another video of my Supra with me drifting.
Basically as a developer, being able to Drift is abviously a big plus when developing a Racing Simulation.

I should really put you on my ignore list ( ), but RR is too good to make me do it, I'd hate to miss the news :)

Nah, it's a good thing that you have some experience with real life physics (so to speak), it means you can compare and tweak if necessary 👍

Well,if you're focused on mobile,i can remaster all the existing cars to the lower polycount;)
actually,i can make a good car in 10000 trangles,i think,for the mobile,it's great!
For example,this is a reducted Toyota Castrol Tom's Supra,it has 9603 polygons.👍
(previous version has about 20000)

First shots of the comlex string in development soon;)

Above post proves a point of mine: there's no need to double the poly count (and make the game heavier) if half of those already look good 👍

Well, yeah, but more polygons mean more accurate, sweet and smooth shapes of the car, more details(like engine and interior) and less sharp edges\corners\polygon errors:)

I'm trying to get good pictures to make the Toyota FT-1, but they aren't really good. Think you can make it ferrari gt?

True, but, and I'll be honest with you, except from a few not-so-obvious details (e.g. the depth of lights), I can't really see the difference between a "Premium" and "Standard" car (apart from the outdated textures). Oh well, that might be because I actually play 15 year old games . The advantage of lower-poly, though, is that you can then put so much more on the track at once. GT's a perfect example, where the game would freeze with 16 P's bunched up together, it wouldn't get all that bad when it's 16 S' :)

I can't make a car without a blueprint, but i think i can draw the blueprint,if we can find good pictures of this car.
GT6 Photomode is probably the best way to do it,but i don't have GT6 :C
(I don't have it because i moved to another flat,so i have my ps3 boxed with GT5:()
The thing why it's hard to make a blueprint from the pictures is that everybody has different angles of shots:indiff:
But if we could find pictures,i can try:)

I will have holiday week,so i'm gonna make a lot of 3d models:mischievous:

I think mine could use some fresh air *cough* :)

Yeah, but the redline racing does not have AI opponents now...
But if it could in future, there's a lot of technologies (like levels of detalisation and less hard shadows) which can help save the perfomance and make cars look awesome at the same time:)👍

@rallymorten will get the pictures i need and i will start modelling Toyota FT-1!:)👍
But right now i'm finishing a Nissan DeltaWing model,in low polycount (approx.10000)
In the future,if Jujunosuke will take my cars or make the game modable,it will be awesome to bring rare and special cars like theese:lol:

Nice job... Still hate the deltawing though.

Hey guys i have a question about the encoding format for youtube.
I recorded a small video of the McLaren MP4 in slowmotion, its very smooth in the original video (60fps)
But when i upload it on youtube, it just drop to 30fps and its very jerky.

Is there any solution to that problem ?
See the video below is very jerky.

@jujunosuke, Youtube doesn't support 60fps videos as Youtube will down scale it to 30fps. Try another video hosting site, but don't know if they have the same limit.

Hey what's up guys?
Some WIP of 2 new features of the next build.

Brake light + skidmarks

Well... nothing revolutionary but, these are the little plus that will make the game looks more professional.
