I'm not really one to create threads but I felt like after my return I had to communicate my views lol

Only just came back to GTS after a 3 month hiatus (playing F1 and Fifa) and OMG how I have missed it!! seriously guys the online experience in this game is second to none in my opinion.

Some of you who hate the penalty system and dirty drivers etc honestly should give F1 a go, I think you'll then show more gratitude towards GTS! After playing F1, I would say the matchmaking and penalty system on GTS is nothing short of superb in comparison.

The only thing griping me at the moment, is the nerfing thats taken place on my poor Gr.3 Emil Frey RCF (or I have just gotten a lot worse? lol)... I was getting low 1:31s on Interlagos when I played back in summer, now I can barely scrape a 1:33!! Had some great races though, one Finnish guy we were constantly back and forth giving each other positions back in a respectable manner, no touching at all. I couldn't believe it!

In the last 3 months of playing F1 pretty much every day I could probably count the amount of clean overtakes I did on both hands.

Still some work to do on my SR but I'm for sure going to be having a lot of fun doing it!

Glad to see the Thrustmaster BT LED is now compatible with GTS, that's added to the Xmas list!

Hope to see you all on the track soon, which this week will be entirely spent at Interlagos :)

You might have left just before the new tyre model, which would explain about 1 second of your laptime loss. On top of that after that time away naturally going to be a bit rusty for a while.

Otherwise yes, online in every other console racing game is still in the dark ages. For all the flaws in GT it's still light years ahead of everything else

Ahhh yes I remember watching a Nurburgring Nations Cup video where they were talking about a new tyre model but I don't think the tyre was implemented in game at that point in time...

still another 1sec to chop off then haha

It's been the same for me, the learning the new tyre model and such. I've been doing some Circuit Experience and offline stuff (no PS plus at the moment). I never put any real effort in the Circuit Experience before though so I'm blitzing my old times there even with the slower tyre model and I think I'm slightly closer to the very best than before but it's hard to know by just looking at these leaderboard times. Offline is just full of AI mobile (sort of) chicanes, they are worse than the D drivers I encountered when I ran from the back on my GTP account, well until they use the magic rubber-banding that's in this game to take 2 seconds out of my lead in just the back straight at Tsukuba in a one make race.

Will get PS Plus again soon hopefully then it's back to real racing, might even see if I can make some FIA races as I've only run a couple and that's it sadly.

I'll keep saying it but a flawed penalty system is a million times better than no penalty system.

What GT Sport offers in online gaming I've not experienced anywhere else, with the ability to jump into an online race with other racers of similar skill and sportsmanship and have close exciting racing. There will always be exceptions, but in GTS they really are exceptions!

Welcome back. You probably won't see me at Interlagos as I've still not got that one down to a level I feel I can race well at. More practice is needed!

If you are going to be running at Interlagos some more then maybe you should try the Circuit Experience. I had a go yesterday and boy is that Nissan something else, if you can drive that well then going back to another car should seem far easier. I managed a best of a 1'33.1 and the top driver was around a 1'32.3 I think, massive respect from me to the guys going quick in this car.

Oh and there's my lap if you or anyone else is interested.
