I was on 500mb earlier and it said 4% so say 600mb would be 5%, installing would bump that to 10%, I'd say roughly 5.5gb. There is 20 updates. Including the spec 2. Could be a while.

Heh, I've been doing something like this myself off-and-on for the past few weeks. I'm not a very good driver (and I'm using a DualShock3). I run the cars stock with an oil change (or from Arcade Mode), default TC (sometimes lowered to 4), AT (don't laugh), ABS 1, no other aids. FWIW, here's what I've gotten:

Obviously, I'm not too good with squirrely RWD cars.

It amazed me that the GT-R Black Edition was so hard to beat. Until I tried the McLaren F1 and Bugatti Veyron today, nothing I'd tried could touch it. (Well, I guess the Gallardo did pretty well.) It's an impressive car. (It's also funny to me how my list doesn't match up with the ordering of the real Top Gear one. Granted, their use of standing starts might be a factor there. As well as changing conditions.)
