Mythbusters host Grant Imahara has died at 49

Unbelievable. :( Grant's nuance for robotics and engineering made some of the craziest and most brilliant testing rigs on Mythbusters. A real shame to lose such a talented mind.

I posted in the other thread where it was brought up but thanks for making a dedicated thread.

Aneurysms are the scariest thing that can ever happen to anyone. Any one of us could randomly drop dead today and not be here tomorrow. It's so tragic. My brother's girlfriend's mother died from one so it hits close to home too...

Felt shocked and in disbelief when I read the news about it this morning. Will always remember Grant mostly for his participation in BattleBots with Deadblow, when the Comedy Central run was shown on UK TV alongside the original Robot Wars. It completely blew my mind years later when I found out that it was still being used on Mythbusters as part of a few experiments.

Oh man... 49 is no age. I lost my sister the same way a couple of years back.

I am not liking what you are saying or went through, I am just sharing your loss... So sorry man...

RIP to all those going through such event.

This death reminds me of Jessi Combs.

I remember as a child seeing news of older celebrities dying, I would comment that they don't mean as much to me because I didn't grow up with them even though I still know who they are and have been a part of my life. However, when I get older the people I watch now will start being the ones that die off and that's when it will start to hit home. I can't believe I had such good perspective on things back then.

Jessi Combs hit hard not just because of her young age but because she's part of our generation. It's easier to identify with.

49 is way too young but he's one of the people that I grew up watching. While reading through twitter comments I didn't even notice that I was getting teary eyed. It's only gonna get worse from here :(
