Its tough to win a "clean" race with the Greddy Fugu Z with a N200 tune:banghead:

After six tries, and a line-up change searching for an easier grid:drool:, I finally was able to win the Dragon Trail race with the Greddy Fugu Z!:):)

My best lap was a smoking 1:54.299:) which was done on lap nine with clean air as I chased down the race leading LaFerrari '13

The game gave me $405,00 for a "clean" race, however, I had to lean excessively:guilty: on the LaFerrari going thru the last corner on the last lap in order to win. The race stewards must not have been watching me because this pass caused some paint transfer!

I've now run the Alpine A110 '72 at the Dragon Trail race, and found it to be very fast and an effective motor for this race.👍

However, during my second race, I was too aggressive:guilty: going thru the first chicane and found that the Alpine has some stability problems. This certainly can be chalked up to driver error, and not the car's fault.:irked:

Just clipped the rumble strip:

Sparks show where my Alpine should be just as the game resets me back before the chicane:embarrassed:

Still went on to win the race since the Alpine is very fast, but no "clean" bonus for me:ill::lol:

@GTsail, that's good stuff.

@daan, thanks for this thread/exercise! it's been good practice and has shown me how I can be faster overall (Appears I'm not getting on the power early enough even though I'm following the line in your vid quite closely so I have some work to do there). I've already found a few SECONDS from attempt one to two. First attempt I managed fourth, unclean, UNCLEAN!!! and the second attempt I got into second with a clean race, seven seconds behind first with lap times in the 1:55s.

We seem to be evenly matched as our race times in the Fugu Z are both 19'16.xxx.

Yes, it does that. The Alpine is quick but needs a bit of care.

The same go's for the Porsche 356 A/1500 GS GT Carrera Speedster 1956 , easy win when you make him a N200 on Dragon trail but can go a bit loco at some places on the track .

@GTsail A110 has insane accelaration at n200 due to its low weight. However it pays with stability problems. However some adjustment to toe angles and lsd fixing those problems a bit.

I've gone back and re-ran the Dragon Trail race with the Alpine A110 '72 with my N200 tune, and this time I kept all four tires on the tarmac throughout the race:D:cool: and was able to easily beat the Veyron:

33346773638_cd4afdae1b_k.jpg

I ran some pretty consistent laps throughout the race and just crushed it with a 1:50.599 on the final lap::)

32280222667_0f6a41ff46_k.jpg

I've also tried a few of the cars with an upgraded N300 tune and found that the Lambo Countach LP400 '74 is very fast if you can control its tendency to swap ends.

Here's my Countach LP400 taking over the race lead on lap #5 as we are going thru the tunnel just before the final corner:

32288677297_836bf24c04_k.jpg

The Ferrari F40 is trying hard to get back past me, so he's right on my rear bumper as we begin braking for the final corner on lap # 5:

33355015378_309306407f_k.jpg

Running some solid laps, I'm able to pull away over the next five laps and end the race with a 18.5 second margin over the Ferrari F40 with a pretty quick race time of 18:23.074, my best lap was a 1:48.693:

40265630863_ccee4fd276_k.jpg

The Countach is very fast with the N300 tune, but it surely needs constant attention or its likely to drive off into the sand:nervous::eek:

For a fast'n'easy N300 race, the 288GTO, F50 & 911GT3 '01 are good choices.

I really like driving the Porsche 911 GT3 '01 for this Dragon Trail race. It seems to suit the track and it is fast enough that you don't get the feeling that you shouldn't be on the track with the other more modern supercars. My best lap so far was a 1:48.034 with the 911 GT3 '01. I've put 385.2 miles on mine, mostly from this race.

Not huge payouts but the Supra Legends races are fun with the old Supra at N200. The AI certainly keep you on your toes. The secret to success is staying out of the way of the divebombs.

St. Croix in the Premium Sports is going to be tough at N200. I tried it in the Fugu Z and could barely maintain the gap to first. Not the best car and I didn't know the track so maybe it's possible.

@GTsail Good to see you. Are you just starting out with GTS? Not seen you around for a while.

Thanks, Yes, I just started GTS about two months ago, so I'm fairly new with seeing how GTS works, and don't yet mind re-running some of the more interesting races to get additional experience.:)

I've taken @daan 's Ferrari Dino 246GT with the N200 tune and ran the Sainte-Croix race a few times. The Dino is certainly fast enough to win, and can do laps under the 4 minute mark if the AI cooperate:

32359338987_bfb64fca82_k.jpg

the Dino has just made the pass for the lead of the race, and this was still on lap # 4::)

the competition is still close as GTsail brakes for the next corner::eek:

GTsail has a slim lead at the end of lap # 4 over the McLaren:nervous:

47248826932_5bb0d79016_k.jpg

a lap later, the Dino crosses the finish line with a 5.5 second lead::)

46386356595_82f3c0bd67_k.jpg

I've now won this Sainte-Croix race with the Dino four times, but none of the wins were "clean" so I'm not getting the "clean" bonus. It seems that some of my passes use too much kerb (or even use the grass:guilty:) so the game considers my driving a bit suspect.:ill: I need to keep working at this if I ever want the "clean" bonus.:banghead:

I went back to Sainte-Croix and earned the "clean" bonus after winning the race with the N200 tuned Ferrari Dino::)

As you can see by my race time, I had to slow down and comply with the track limits::sly:

The AI are certainly faster on the long straights!!

Well done. I've just had a couple of goes with the Dino and managed a win but not clean. I had to block the Bugatti near the end or it would have been gone.

I bought the new Supra thinking it would be eligible but apparently not. 100k is not over 100k it seems. I wish I'd gone for the floor mats now.

I'm a Geezer now by the way. Any chance I'll be seeing you in the weekend morning races?

The Toyota 2000GT '67 can also win the Sainte-Croix race with the N200 tune:

46388590285_069f89e18c_k.jpg

I had to do a fair amount of blocking of the faster cars once I passed them.

The above win was not clean so I did not get the "clean" bonus.:(

I think its possible to win this race cleanly, so its back to the track for me!

It takes some work, but the Toyota 2000GT '67 can win the "clean" bonus at the Sainte-Croix track with the N200 tune::)

47304188641_b243efe56b_k.jpg

My race time and fast lap times were essentially the same as before, but I didn't lean on the AI cars as much so the bonus was mine!:)

The Alpine A110 '72 can also win the Sainte-Croix race when tuned to N200, and you can even earn the "clean" bonus if you can manage the Alpine's oversteering tendencies.

It took me a few tries to get the "clean" bonus because sometimes its hard to pass the AI cleanly::banghead:

Overall race time was below 20 minutes:

I had a few close calls:
The Citroen GT doesn't give me much room on lap # 1:

The Greddy Fugu Z can win the Sainte-Croix race with the N200 tune.
The Fugu Z can also earn the "clean" bonus if you want the extra bucks!:)

33437599558_1f9cc60672_k.jpg

My overall race time was a bit slow because I kept getting passed by the LaFerrari '13,:( which meant I had to re-pass him cleanly again, and this caused some aggravation::irked: As @daan mentions in the first post, the LaFerrari drives all over the track as it tries to negotiate the corners and it always fish-tails as it tries to put the power down as it exits each corner. So watch out!!!

40348409133_6d5cfb2f24_k.jpg

The Fugu Z struggles to reach 145-148mph at the end of the long straights, so this allows the AI to close down any gap you open up:irked:, but it handles decently going thru the sweeping corners so you can still make up time throughout each lap.

The "clean" bonus is also possible if you want the extra cash.

The BMW M3 Sport handles well enough but is slow down the straights so it took me about five attempts before I could win the race (and I switched lineups to find an easier one):

The Veneno '14 doesn't leave much room on the inside, but I've got to get past so I go for it::scared:

A fraction of a second later, I'm thru the gap, and I can try to pull away:
My BMW has some rear body-work damage due to all the blocking I've done during the previous laps::mischievous:

Did Monza tonight in the N200 Alpine (I think this is now my favourite car). No clean bonus though. That's going to be tricky.

@GTsail Have you decided what to spend your winnings on?

I haven't won the Monza race with the Alpine at N200 yet, however I have won it with the Mazda RX500 '70 with the N200 tune, and was able to earn the clean bonus::)

I had to run the race four times before I could get a "clean" win. The AI like to hog the track just as I want to drive thru the corners, so sometimes I needed to get on the brakes to avoid running into the AI, and I may have exceeded the track limits once or twice before I was able to win cleanly.:banghead:

Yesterday I tried for the first time the GR2 car at Dragon Trail but with the 2008 model , 10 laps must be done and everything in the setup standard tyres RN front and RN in the back .
Doing my 9th lap thinking I was winning the race because I thought the car in front of my was one to be doublet .....nops it was not it was he who was the number one in the race couldn't win it for the moment .
Hmmmmm interesting at least one race against the AI I can't win for ones this is inviting for more I would say .

It was a bit of a challenge because the Alpine wants to steer off into the sand traps, but after a few attempts I was able to earn the "clean" bonus:)

My lap time didn't suffer too much from my drifting corner technique, since I still turned in a 2:03.713 lap:)

Well that just leaves Tokyo. Good luck with that one.;)

That's a great idea for a race. The 08 GT-R is seriously underpowered. I thought I'd lost it until the very end. There was loads of traffic on the last lap and like you I didn't know which was the P1 car until I luckily got a perfect run on him at the bus-stop. Got the lead coming up to the last corner and won by 0.1s.
300k with a clean race bonus. Not bad but I think I deserved a car handicap bonus too.

It is fun is it not , knowing the track and car handling a bit better now it becomes a easy win with the 3 car models from 2008 .
