National Finals - GT5 or GT6?

What do you guys think will be used as the game engine at the national finals?

Had a long conversation with Joeyfast last night and we couldn't come to a consensus.

It seems like it doesn't make sense for them to have us qualify on GT6 then switch back to GT5 for finals, but if they're using GT6 for the finals then they must have a mostly functioning game with a handful of cars and tracks ready to go; as far as I know, nobody really knows if PD is that prepared.

Any thoughts or hearsay on the topic?

I'll bet you 6 bucks it'll be GT6 :D

It's really hard to tell how possible it is, but with the release of the game being so close, and the fact that all the cars they would need to use for Nationals are in the demo, I'd lean toward it being GT6.

It'll be a showcase for GT6, a really good way to promote an upcoming game. It's in New York City, and if it's open to the public, it could be a great event in that regard.

Also there's the Goodwood demo they ran. They can piece something together.

And lucky for all the Nation Finalists this year if they indeed go with GT6 because they may be able to give the organizers a much better suited UI or tournament mode or version in order to more easily run the thing. Last year's Nationals was very well organized on paper, but when it came to the game, things didn't go exactly to plan and compromises had to be made. I'm hoping there's a lot less of that for you guys this year.

I am leaning towards agreeing with you for sure. $6 isn't even enough to buy a beer in Vegas though lol.

I definitely think it would be cool if PD designed a GTAcademy version of GT6 specifically and exclusively to host the national/regional events.
