Nations Cup Points not correct

So I raced two races in the Nations Cup this weekend. In the first one I got spun out 3 times and finished 10th. In the second one I only got spun out once and finished 6th. I checked the points I would receive for that finish and it said 6 points for that position. I had other things to do, so I just left it there expecting a total of 6 points.

I check the results this morning and I see I only have 4 points.

This happened in Manufacturers Cup too. I always quit after my best finish. In Manufacturers I won a race that should have been for 11 points, but I only received 6 points for it in the results.

This makes no sense.

You will only receive the points from your last race no matter what.
Maybe you got your races mixed up and the 4 points was from your last race.
Points per race are different each race and it is based on a formula regarding the DR of the whole room.
A better finish in one race may be less points than a worse finish in another.
I don’t have the math in front of me but @Famine can explain it better.

Yes. I know this. That's why I always quit on a good finish. I looked at the points breakdown after the race and it said 6 points for 6th place.

And like I said, it happened in Manufacturers Cup too. I won a race, the points breakdown said 11 points. I check my total after the event and it's 6.

I just don't get it.

So, the points it displays at race end matches the points it shows in the estimated points pre-race information screen, but not necessarily what you actually get as drivers who quit (I think at any time, but maybe only in pre-lobby setup) can change the number of points available (both down and up). Although this does seem like a big difference at first glance, I think it's more likely to be this sort of magnitude at lower levels.

Just as an estimate, if you're getting 11 for a win and 6 for a sixth, you're a GT3/DR D driver. The average lobby DR (which is what determines the points) would be around 2,000.

GT3 can include DR C drivers at up to 10,000 DR - and in fact can, although in round one of the season after a couple of slots it's unlikely, have B drivers too.

Assuming your lobby has 16 drivers, sixth is worth 6pt, the win would be worth ~8pt, and the average DR would be around 1,950. That would mean a total of 31,000 DR points across all 16 drivers.

Now if that's comprised of 15 drivers at DR D averaging 1,700pt and one DR C outlier at 5,500pt who quits, that would have an initial value for 6th of 6 (and either 7 or 8 for the win; can't remember how it works) dropping to an actual value at the end of the round of 4. If it's two drivers, they could both be Ds at 3,400pt (so they wouldn't stand out in the lobby).

Yeah, this is my first attempt at the "points" races. We started with 16, but I remember two or three quitting in the race I finished 6th in. In the on I won in Manufacturers, all 16 finished.

I don't know man. Just weird. Just give the points it says. That simple lol. No need for Calculus.
