San Antonio and Cleveland was the matchup for the NBA Finals. Texas' own San Antonio Spurs came through against LeBron James and company. Of course, I didn't care since the great season my Rockets had was all for not when they lost to the Utah Jazz. And let's not forget Golden State's colossal upset of Dallas. Time to dribble the rock around for another upcoming season of pro-level roundball. This is your thread to preview this year's NBA season. From Atlanta to New York, Miami to the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston to Toronto, this is your thread to discuss the upcoming NBA season. A lot of Summer League action is going on at present, but it's all for real when NBA season rolls around. Here are some questions (among others) for you to answer:

* Will San Antonio and/or Cleveland be the teams to watch this season?
* How many teams from this past season's playoffs will return to the playoffs?
* What players will stand out among others? Which ones will be also-rans against the competition?
* Which powerhouse team is likely to struggle this season?
* Which underacheiving team is likely to be a make a successful playoff push?
* What talented NBA team could be a surprise team to maybe go far in the playoffs?

This and more can be asked by you fans. So feel free to share your mind in this preview thread.

Portland is the team to watch next season. No doubt. They made so many changes, again.

Portland is my favorite team; and with half of their team replaced/improved upon, they will be very ambitious. However, they are still young, and none of their starters have been in the league for more than 2 years.

Blazers should become a really good team soon, but they will need to gel first. I get the feeling the Jarrett Jack, maybe even Sergio Rodriguez(my favorite Blazer) might get moved before the trade deadline.

I am pretty sure the Blazers will be good enough to compete for the last 2, 3, spots in the Playoffs, this season. They should become a contender in 2 - 4 years, at least I hope.

Another team to watch for me would be the Celtics. Three respectable all stars(real deals), but nearly non-existent supporting cast. I love KG, and he just might be enough to make me root for the Celtics. I wish they still had Sebastian Telfair!

The Celtics are trying to get Boykins and Mutombo. Also, Minnesota will waive Ryan Gomes and he will resign with Boston. With Gomes, their FA signing House, the other bench players and that starting 5, they could be contenders...

They want our Deke (Dikembe Mutumbo)? He had a pretty good season for my Rockets in place of Yao Ming. Like the former Georgetown Hoya found a fountain of youth. Speaking of the Rockets, I still wonder if we got back Steve Francis. We seem to have some stars, but we need to really gel ourselves so we can go deeper into the playoffs. We can win a title. But here in the Western Conference, both Dallas and San Antonio are usually in our way to being a great Western Conference team. Phoenix is going to be tough as well. I'll have to see how the Rick(?) Adelman Rockets are going to fare for this upcoming season.
