Like maybe a contract extension for the Birdman? :D

But of course again, Birdman's at the end of his career so Miami would have to find a young big man to develop in a very short time frame. Would be a tough task since it hasn't been til' Hibbert's recent highlights on the importance of big men in the league.
It's generally easier for bigs to come in and play for someone like Heat, because you have so many teammates that can take pressure off of you. If Riley is a legitimately good GM(or Prez, or whatever), I think he should be able to find a quality center, or power forward without giving up much, given enough time.

Andersen has that Dennis Rodman thing going. I used to respect Rodman until his off-court distractions & attention whoring became larger than his basketball game. Andersen's initial reaction after getting suspended I think was that he had no regrets. I hear that he now told Yahoo that it was "lesson learned". A slow learner.

Edit: Utterly shocked at the $75,000 fine NBA gave to Hibbert for referencing "homo".

Edit 2: Miami Heet should grab somebody like this on the cheap. lol

I watched that post game interview and when Hibbert dropped the MF bomb I laughed hard, totally understood where he came from.

Heat have wrapped up this series 63-89 with 5:30 to go.

EDIT: Not sure why they still have Wade out there, this series is over

Geez, I knew Miami would take the series, and if they wouldn't, I was convinced that NBA would give it to them, but that one is a blowout.

I hope Spurs surprise us, but it's still a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong shot.

Wade actually hauled ass with the boards, not sure how many he grabbed but he was close to double figures.

Hopefully Parker abuses Chalmers and Duncan goes to work on Bosh, that'd be a fun site to see :P

Go home Pacers.

Haha Roy Hibbert just walked straight to the locker room

Pacers fell short, but their season is nothing short of success. If Miami didn't have LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen, Shane Battier, Rashard Lewis, they may have been able to take them to maybe Game 5........ oh, wait. They did.

That's the Heat we're used to seeing. Wade must've been on some hardcore drugs in Indiana. He looked totally spaced out.

Charles Barkley is funny as hell. "I'd make a fortune if I brought a food truck for the week down there in San Antonio with all them big ol' women."

edit: Video!

Flicked over to Sportscenter after the game and for one glorious second I read the final score as, Pacers 99 Heat 76. Oh well.

So both Grant Hill and Jason Kidd are retiring this off-season. Thoughts, comments? When I was super young Hill and Kidd were both my favourite players, it's like a blast from the past for them to both retire at the same time, a shame Jason did it off that woeful play-off performance, not the brightest way to end a stellar career.

So it's going to be San Antonio vs. Miami for the NBA Championship this season. It should be a great series. I am normally a Rockets fan, so I usually or naturally not supposed to like San Antonio or Dallas. But really, I think San Antonio (remember- I'm a Rockets fan) gets a bad rap often times just because they aren't the Lakers or the Celtics. You know- big-market cities with solid talent. Well, San Antonio's a pretty damn good small market city with a powerful basketball team. I don't have any favorites for this series.

As for Grant Hill and Jason Kidd, I am both sad and surprised (especially with Jason Kidd) both are retiring at the same time. These two guys are definitely going to somebody's Hall of Fame. Hall of Fame committees should all be fired if neither gets into any Hall of Fame.

I'll miss Grant Hill. Kidd should've retired two years ago when the Mavs won the championship.
With a bit of hindsight, I agree. Maybe he hurt his head when he crashed his Escalade while driving drunk last year.

They were both really special players in their prime. Hill commanded respect by everyone, Kidd was a POS, never liked that drama queen.
one glorious second
A lot of those for the fans of mediocre NBA teams, just ask this Blazer fan.

Eh I don't mind either player but I don't know enough about either of them in their prime days since I was born in the 90s

Gonna be a good Finals series for sure.

Yeah I never really saw them play in their prime either, I was too young.

I saw them in their prime, but I'm so old now I don't remember much. I just say stuff like that.

 All I know is that Hill got Duke consecutive championships in college and had a breakout year in Detroity before a major injury and Kidd averaged 8 rebounds one season which is pretty awesome for a point guard.

Same here...entirely.

Of course, the first time I heard of Grant Hill was when he was at Duke. I couldn't hear the announcer over the noise and such, so I kept referring to him as "Graham Hill".

You can see the resemblance...

Game 1 of the NBA Finals begin tonight in Miami. The remaining survivors are San Antonio and Miami. Want to be champions? If so, beat your championship rival four times in a Best-of-7 series. Well... tell it, GTPlanet- who wins the title and in how many games?

May the better team win tonight's game and this season's NBA Finals. Good luck to both SA and MIA.

If your team(s) need a new head coach, how does George Karl sound? Yep. He's on the market as he recently got canned from the Nuggets. I wonder what team would pick him up...

 at Josh. More like  with Josh. We are old. Like Tim Duncan(he'll have 40 points and 40 rebounds tonight!).

This is ridiculous. ****ing Tony Parker. If Tim Duncan weren't on the team, Tony Parker would be MVP.

Also, Chris Bosh sucks ass at shooting. He's wide open taking 3s all the time because the Spurs know he'll miss.

Timmy was SO good. I take back any age statement I made regarding Tim Duncan. My man Manu, unfortunately, nowhere near the explosive scorer he used to be, but his craftiness, skills & basketball I.Q. still makes him one of the best swingman in the game. Tony, well...... we all saw it. Jesus, he was just step ahead of everybody, especially mentally.

I predicted Miami in six before. I've said all along that if Spurs can steal one of the first two games(in Miami), they have a chance at the series. If I put a number to it, I'd say 30% ~ 35% chance now. I have that much respect for the Miami team.

I thought Spurs played well, Heat didn't even come close to their potential, and the Spurs barely won. As the series goes on, Timmy will tire, Manu & Tony are potential injury risks. Of course, same goes for Wade. If I critique the Heat, what the hell was that, last few minutes of the fourth quarter?(but I appreciate it).

Chris Andersen getting pwn'd, repeatedly by Duncan made my night. Go Spurs!

P.S. Young guys really impressed me tonight, too. Nice to see Gary Neal making most of his playing time. Still waiting for T-Mac dunking from the three point line.

When you have a person as lanky and tall as Bosh, his shooting is the least of his concerns. How about some rebounds? Just 5? Paltry.

But thank you Tony Parker for making the Spurs America's team in this series.

I think I am in love with Bosh's game. I dunno what you are talking about. If I was on the court with Bosh, I'll be that guy encouraging him every time he touched the ball, "shoot it! shoot it!".

Edit: I take it back. He did have few key jumpers that kept Heat ahead for much of the game. Just don't play big & I'll be happy.

Those Bosh 3's were awful. He should have made an attempt to step closer to the rim before going for those shots. It looks though on one, he stepped back. :dunce: I think those first couple mid-range baskets gave him too much confidence.

LeBron focused way, way, way too much on that triple double. Dumb move & should have started driving more to the basket. But, he let Wade's whining about wanting others to be more involved get in his head, so he started dishing out assists when he was in good positions.

1 thing I did not like was all those missed 3's by the Spurs. Wow. I can only at least applaud a couple for being open looks, but damn, the score would have been a little more of a cushion going into the 4th.

Only Game 1, but the Spurs have shown repeatedly they don't let close games bother them or trailing through 3/4 of it as long as they're close. It's the 4th Qtr were they come alive & will start forcing the other team to make mistakes; James had 2 bad TO passes. And with Pop, you know he will making adjustments over the next couple days.

I thought Lebron moving the ball was coaching decision, but you very well could be right, Mac. I forgot all about Wade moaning after Game 6 against Pacers or whatever. I wish Bosh will keep thinking that he's Riggie Miller, but I kind of doubt we'll see a repeat. :P

Again, Timmy & young guys surprised me tonight. I counted on Leonard & Danny, but Neal was as money as ever, and Tiago played beautifully around the post. I just hope they hang onto the home court advantage they just took away from Miami, but it's gonna be HARD.
