Word has it that the big favorites for Carmelo Anthony to land are either with the Chicago Bulls or the Houston Rockets. Assuming either team picks him up, which team do you think would be a better fit for him and his offense?

The Bulls, because he'll be able to shoot more compared to him being in Houston and having to share shots with two other guys

Yeah that was an awesome read, can't wait for game 5 :)

I know, I wish it was today so I could watch it live.:ouch:

I agree, the Bulls are a good fit for Melo, and Thibs will make him play D too. In a perfect world with a healthy Rose, the Bulls would be great with Melo.

Bulls by far. I'm not saying because I'm biased, which I am obviously, but because Melo is something that will give Chicago a potent player that can score at will. Something that was missing when Rose was gone to injury. And with Thibs, his game overall can improve. Besides, Noah can dish him the ball much better than Dwight Howard can.

Oh yeah I forgot about Noah, a 1-3-5 punch would be lethal in todays game.

Game 5 of the NBA Finals is tonight in San Antonio, and this COULD be the final game of the season if the Spurs can beat the Heat one last time. Miami, meanwhile, want to bring the series back to Miami for a Game 6. New champion or live another day?

Good luck to Miami and San Antonio tonight.

Same bad calls being shown, but the 1st QTR had 2 really bad ones.

1: James goes for a drive, Leonard swings his arm above LeBron; no contact. Shooting foul.
2: Cole travels in the paint, Splitter raises his arm to avoid a foul. Cole shoots the ball literally into Splitter's hands meaning it's a clean block. Shooting foul.

Jeez, and all it's done is fuel the Spurs. Parker & Duncan still need to show up, and Miami needs to sit Battier. Cost them their momentum twice now.

And dat LeBron 3 from way outside. Dude should just shoot the ball all night b/c the rest of Miami isn't showing up. I said it before, the role players are what helped win the last 2 championships. They don't show up & LeBron can't win on his own.

Edit* DAMNNN! Where was this Gino last year? Attacked & dunked on Bosh!

No history making night for you, LeBron. Game. Over.

Congrats, Spurs. Manu, you totally redeemed yourself. I love everybody on this team.

Timmy's comment just now, how this makes "last year 'OK'".......... I'm still sore, but that was the truth, man.

I can't get enough of the Big Fundamental, but if this was his last game, I'd be perfectly happy.

Something happened to Miami. They win 7 days ago and then get blown out in 3 straight games. That's not a good sign.

They went from Super Friends to Super One Guy, real fast.

When Silver named the Finals MVP, I caught the stand-in for Pop. I knew he was a stand-in, because he smiled really, really big. :D

Wow, go Patty Mills! 17 points, 5-8 from three. :D What a massive third quarter.

MILLSYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! :D Go the Aussies Spurs, well done!

So happy for Timmy to grab that 5th ring. The only downside is now the long wait til' the next season.

This will be a well alleviated off-season at least, draft at the end of this month, Summer League next month, FIBA World Cup some time after that and before you know it pre-season will happen.

*cue WWE ring announcer*

"Here is your winner, and... NEEEEEW NBA Champion- the San Antonio Spurs!"

Yep. The black and silver iced the Miami Heat with a wicked 104-87 spanking last night. In fact, I don't think San Antonio ever lost the lead ever since getting it midway through the 2nd Quarter. San Antonio couldn't hit a shot either on the Riverwalk or in the Gulf of Mexico early on. Once they got going, though, San Antonio just couldn't be tripped up. It was almost as if San Antonio saw this as a redemption season, much like how the 2008 Team USA Basketball team sought redemption after failing in the 2004 Olympics in basketball. Pains me to say this as a Rockets fan, but congrats to the Spurs on winning the championship.

So that does it for another season of NBA basketball. All congratulations to the Spurs on winning yet another championship... which sickens me as a Rockets fan- seeing one of your rivals from not far away win a championship.

It took a number of months for 30 teams to trot out onto the hardwood and play to become one of the better 16 teams. Sixteen succeeded; fourteen failed. Everything from amazing plays to hard fouls were executed as 16 became 8, 8 became 4, 4 became 2, and those two competed for the O'Brien Trophy. And in the end, it was the San Antonio Spurs who won it all. They will now have to be the target for next season as the other 29 teams will valiantly challenge San Antonio for the championship once the 2014-2015 season rolls around.

So that's it. No more meaningful NBA hoops until at least preseason basketball in October. Or... you can always follow the WNBA game between now and then. Feel free to share your thoughts on this past season. Maybe you want to look ahead to next season, make an assessment of your team(s) from this season, or anything you want to discuss regarding this season or next. Time to take a look back and move forward.

Are you serious? These playoffs were some of the best in memory. It was absolutely spectacular basketball in both conferences. In fact, the finals were rather anti-climactic by comparison. How you can say it's boring is beyond me.

Anyway, I've just now realized why the Heat lost. They were missing the power of Craig Sager.

The bad thing though, is that the Summer League is rarely talked about, & anything consisting of International play won't be mentioned here. :( The draft & free agency will be short, but hopefully sweet.

Really, no international play coverage in USA? Australians are getting lucky this year with FIBA, we're getting all team USA and Australian Boomers games at the world cup aired on free-to-air TV.
As for Summer League, I buy league pass/NBA TV/what ever they're calling it this time so I can watch it. It's an early chance to see new rookies, player development (eg. Valanciunas becoming more of a man last time) and sometimes from my point of view, Aussie hopefuls trying to crack an NBA team against near NBA level competition (like Dellavedova did with Cleveland this past year).
For the draft, I am hopeful for two main outcomes, Dante Exum NOT being drafted by the Bucks who will probably squander his talent and give his development a bum steer like every other player they get, and for Cameron Bairstow to be drafted by any team as he's projected not to be selected at this stage.

Edit: One week to the draft! (Do we need a new thread as we are now preparing for next season?)
